Shade Genius

I tried it three different times in the same lighting and it somehow gave me three different shade matches several shades apart. It only matches you to one specific foundation line that a chooses for you, regardless of it you've tried it and hated it. Wish it would let you choose which foundation line you wanted the color match for.

Once in 10 minutes and I'm very fair, so no, natural warm beige isn't my color, plus the true match line is old, and loreal has updated their foundations. So you get one match and it's an old product? Great idea Loreal!

Called L'Oreal about the card and the customer service person said she thinks they don't support it anymore. Put me on hold to find out and after a minute hung up on me.

I wish I could give it a zero. No matter what light setting I am in, I get the same "blurry" message when I center the dots. It just doesn't work.

I was literally under a bright lamp and it still would not work. This app is total crap.

Asked for a card that I didn't have... Never even said it was required without the card you can't go any further.

It stopped working numerous times...I did everything it said and it couldn't find a shade for me....I have a light complexion but seriously...

This is a terrible app, it constantly says too low of light or too blurry no matter what I did.

Never says you need a card before downloading. Can't find card in store.

The only way this works is if you have some kind of card with a qr and to be honest the app itself isn't great, it's very slow and most of the time the button you press doesn't work

Says you need a card to hold up to your face. Where do you even get one from? It should've said it right in the description before wasting my time downloading it and uninstalling it.

I'm really pale and it gave me a dark cocoa shade so I tried again twice and I got a medium and a light shade so it doesn't seem accurate.

Who has the card, not me. This was a waste of time!!!!!

Your local Walgreen's carries the cards at the beauty counter! Make sure to stop by and grab one! Worked perfectly for me!

I took photos with varying lights and placement of the card on my face with the card (you can find cards at most walgreens) also cleaned my face and lense and tried again all results are close if not perfect for me. Make sure your choosing the best spots on your face for the placement, don't use blochy or sun damaged areas of your face.

I don't know if it's an issue with my phone's camera or the app itself, but after scanning the QR code, reinstalling multiple times, and trying for almost half an hour to line up the card, it won't even take the first picture. I'll keep an eye on it for updates, but until then I won't have it taking up space on my phone.

Most people cannot use this app because you need a card. I found the card at a makeup kiosk in the US so, it is available, you just have to look for it. Glad to find out I've been using the correct foundation color all along!

Told this app would be great for finding exact makeup color but turns out you need a card to hold.over your face so the app can work properly but I have no idea how or where you get that card from which render the app useless! Disappointed...

Card alignment was a little difficult but when I got it the app found my perfect shade. You can find the card where you purchase makeup

requires you to take a picture with a paper/plastic card... does not say where to get card... l'oreal makeup counters don't have the card.... useless... needs to be removed from google play

It is really hard to align the grid on your face and it just is flat out wrong in the assessment. I am pale! Very pale! The first time it told me I was an N2 and the second time a W3. A third attempt yielded a C4. Did I mention just HOW pale I am? I am too fair for even the lightest shade in any color group. What a waste of time. If I took this app's advice I would wind up with a sunburned looking face in contrast to my pale body.

Lost my card, so I can't even use the app and I had a difficult time aligning the card to the viewfinder in the app

Where do you get the card

Useless. Told me there wasn't enough light - I was facing the sun and the light couldn't have been brighter. Uninstalled it immediately.
