LoopPay for Android
App no longer works with newer Android versions for the Bluetooth fobs due to Samsung now owning LoopPay and only supporting Samsung devices.
Just got my brand new Google Nexus 6P. Running the latest version of Android (6.0). Loop pay will not pair with my phone. Hope there is a fix sooner rather than later.
This app sucks. It says it can't verify my ID. The ID is valid and the pic looks just like the ID. Useless and waste of time.
Every time I plug in my loop fob the app crashes on my Samsung S4
They only support 3 types of documents
Very Misleading. In order to use this as a payment method at a store, you MUST purchase a looppay device. I'm not going to pay for another device just to avoid using my card. My phone already comes with free apps that I can tap and pay for free most places I go. I think I'll just stick to using my free options that I'm already using, which are Google wallet/Android Pay and Samsung pay.
Wasting of time.
I used to love this app but I lost my fob, now they don't sell it anymore. In fact they don't sell any device anymore, there is no way to use the app if they don't sell devices anymore
I have used LoopPay for about a year and a half now and very much love it. I am sad to see that LoopPay has appeared to be pushed in the background after being acquired by Samsung. LoopPay spoke about tokenization , but hasn't activated it fully for users. Will this ever be activated for real users? The last concern of mine is updates. LoopPay has always been very private about LoopPay's updates. They may tell you privately that they are working on it (Via email), but they don't have anywhere on their website that gives users possible information on how an update is going. They could for example have a page that states the cycle the update is in (Ex: Passed to Dev Team, Testing, Final Approval Stages). Android 6.0 has Bluetooth connection issues with the LoopPay Card. It could be two months (Based on previous experience) until an update is released. LoopPay tries hard to say they are the new smart wallet that you don't have to worry about. However an Android update kills your ability to use your LoopPay product, which hurts that statement. Overall LoopPay is great when it works, but at times you have to wait months for updates to fix issues (When it should take a week).
Works like it says. Missing a star since I have had a few issues reconnecting to the device. Otherwise an awesome card replacement. Ignore many of the one stars where people were to stupid to read that they need a Looppay enabled phone or a Looppay device. Not fair to rate the app and function when they were at fault.
Verification step is frustrating.my valid I'd can not be verfied, passport photo will not take... U pretty much stink looppay. At least provide an alternative..
Looppay says after samsung pay is released, you wouldn't need the fob. Well, samsung pay is released and you still have to purchase the fob. Im on verizon and samsung pay is not available on verizon
I can't connect with Bluetooth. Update 06/25/2015,, update fixed pairing issue with 5.1, now it's working like a charm
Once connected to fob it's great. But to get it to connect can be frustrating.
*** Requires purchase of additional fob which is no longer available *** Without the fob, the app is useless. You'd think they would put that at the top.
Switched to OnePlus2 and it doesn't work, no matter what I do. Useless Looppay fob now.
Seriously couple times i tried use my pin it's said invalid, and i tried with my new pin same invalid.. What's wrong with this app..
But you can not buy the products. People love my card and now want one.
I am very surprised that system asks my ID. I would not make a copy of my ID.
Updated phone to 5.1 and now can't get device to pair at all, which their website mentions, but I'm not going to hold up updating my phone b/c of this device. It's Bluetooth ... how does this just not work right for all Bluetooth devices? I thought that is the point of a standard. Stuck now w/ only that single card that was loaded in there unless I get a burner phone just for programming this device. Broken and certainly not going to be very configurable on the fly with that constraint.
Why can't I use it on My Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge when LoopPay is embedded in the phone.
I noticed that connection to my LoopPay Card is faster when I have moved it out of range of my phone/app. Whole app seems faster and even more user friendly. Nice improvements! It even let me know when I tried to swipe a credit card I hadn’t noticed was expired.
The description wording needs to be changed. There are no 'LoopPay enabled smartphones'. It should say 'LoopPay enabled Smartphone case'. This is because the Samsung Galaxy S6/S6 Edge could be considered a LoopPay enabled SmartPhone as LoopPay is now a Samsung company. The confusion leads to expecting this to work with these MST enabled device's when it does not support them. Now that you are owned by Samsung, please fix this description!
I have a verizon s6 why would i have to buy any accessories to use this service samsung bought the service and should know this wth
Why do you have to buy the accessories for the Galaxy S6 and the Galaxy Note 5 which I have? It has built in LoopPay in the device which Samsung acquired! this is dumb! I only was going to use this instead of Samsung Pay is because I don't have a qualifying bank/card they accept at the moment and just wanted to use my own cards and banks. Please allow the use of this app for the Galaxy devices that already have the LoopPay feature built in so that we don't have to by additional devices.
When a device has the tech included, it shouldn't require an external device. How do you expect to build loyalty and trust if we can only use it with Samsung Pay? What if they don't make it available everywhere? You're losing would be customers/users.
LoopPay Card won't pair with Nexus 5 on Android Marshmallow
Can I use the mst in my s6 edge?
Yep! This app is the s@#t!
Update it to work on marshmallow. Won't connect to device
To support phones with built-in capability
it wont even open. it keeps failin6
Thanks.
Please add fingerprint support for Android 6.0. Don't forget the folks without Samsung phones
It was a great idea my first rating was 4 stars. While the fob had issues with my Motorola phones the card accessory worked well until lollypop 5.1 update. This includes both Samsung s6 and Motorola turbo 1 & 2. When I contacted devs about the issue they said their focus was on Samsung pay which by the way does not include support for private lable cards (I.e. home depot, JC Penny, Walmart, Lowes, etc.) Nor gift cards (which is a step backwards from their original technology please fix for all cards again
What an awful component. Can't verify my ID because of the stupid auto image Capture fails to recognize my id even after messing with it for what seemed like hours. App is completely useless because of this.
I USED to love using this App with my Note 3 until I had to get a new phone (Galaxy Note 5). Now because of Verizon's lack of support for the app, I'm left looking at an UNUSABLE APP. I'm strongly considering going to iPhone and AT&T. At least Apple has a WORKING MOBILE PAYMENT SYSTEM which works across multiple carriers. Verizon obviously couldn't care less about its loyal customers like me. Samsung meanwhile has done little to push Verizon Wireless to accept Samsung Pay the successor to LoopPay.
The card will not connect with my phone. I have tried all of the support methods. My phone is on the compatible list. Still giving me a pin or passkey error. The box doesn't mention anything about certain android phones not working... I would like a refund, before this turns into a class action...

Upgrading my previous 'highly unusable' review from 1- to 3-stars. Took me about 12 hours to figure out a few things. Hope these help others: 1) Rather than making the first Bluetooth connection within the app, try pairing the LoopPay device first, in Android's BT settings. 2) After successfully pairing, do the rest of the device configuration & settings (inc. 'enable button pay') BEFORE trying to swipe your first card into the device. 3) When swiping your payment cards with the card reader, use a medium, steady speed. Finally, the BT connection seems more consistent when a free app like 'Bluetooth Auto Connect' is used to prioritize the connection. LAST UPDATE: Two flawless payments made; device works as advertised. Bumping up to 4-stars.
