Zapper Task Killer & Manager for Android
❐ About Zapper Task Killer & Manager
Zapper Task Killer & Manager is an easy way to kill the processes that are slowing down your phone - by zapping them!
✰ “Simple to use and simply amazing! Kills unnecessary apps and doesn't lag like other task killers.”
✰ “Killer! Just like their security app. Top notch!”
✰ “Great program! Does what it says and does it easily!”
Ever suspect that your phone is running slowly because of an app you downloaded? Lookout Zapper Task Killer helps you find the real culprit behind battery drain and slower phone performance by showing you a list of every active app on your phone.
Apps are sorted by CPU usage, with those that are using the most processing power at the top. If you see something that seems like it is making your phone run slower or making your battery life suffer, select the app and zap to kill it. Once you zap the app, it immediately closes down, stopping it from taking up any more of your phone’s precious resources.
Want to kill all processes and start from scratch? Hit select all and kill all active apps with one click.
Zapper Task Killer & Manager also provides real-time charts to help you visualize how much memory and processing power your phone is using overall.
Note: Zapper Task Killer & Manager can only kill background processes. If the app is running an important task, like Pandora streaming music or Gmail sending a message, it can not be killed. These can only be stopped through the Running Apps menu of the Android System Settings.

Till I upgraded to droid turbo 2 it worked excellent, told all my friends to get the lookout apps. Zapper now only shows itself in the list. How can I see who reactivated them self if the program doesn't show them(besides manually looking via settings)? Please fix and you get 5 stars again.
Luv this app it is so AWESOME it tells u the APPS u can kill & it also tells u the APPS that u can't kill & why u can't. Its that EASY to use! Unlike the other APPS that say they KILL & dont this APP does & more! The BEST PART this APP is ABSOLUTELY FREE if there was a PRICE on this APP I would DEFINITELY PAY for it because its WORTH it! So DOWNLOAD THIS APP! LOOKOUT IM YOUR #1 FAN!! PS: DOWNLOAD OTHER LOOKOUT SECURITY APPS THERE BETTER THEN ALL THE OTHER SECURITY APPS!! I GIVE THIS APP INFINITY STARS!
I really like this app for seeing what processes are running and how much memory and cpu they are using. I wish it could sample for a period of time (1 to 10 min selectable) with the press of a button and give you a graph of which processes took the most cpu and memory (if it can I didn't find it). 5 stars with that feature. Doesn't seem to have an automatic task killer but other apps are good at that. Easy navigation to the app manager from the running daemon.
I really like the visualization of CPU and memory usage but, is there any way to add apps to a whitelist? I can't find any instructions, not that it's complicated but some of my notification widgets are locked, can't be zapped which is good but, others aren't and I'd like to be able to whitelist those. It seems very arbitrary. Every other task killer I've ever used always had a whitelist option.
I've used Lookout apps for yrs. The very first thing I do on any new device is download Lookout Security & Zapper then I can trust that I'm good to go. I've not experienced any problems. Very user friendly, Lookout's anti-virus program provides thorough protection for your device & Lookout's Zapper app provides you a great measure of control! Thanks sooo much Lookout team ~ an "A" for awesome on ALL of your products from one most appreciative user!
This app isn't bad at all, it works well for what it says it does but compared to advanced task killer which I'm already using it just isn't quite as good and that is simply because it doesn't have automatic killing of apps from time to time like task killer does other than that pretty much the same app. Oh and this doesn't really have any options while advanced task killer has plenty.
I have the "active applications" widget so I can see what's running (I've had it on my home screen with every phone I've owned) so when I finally discovered app killers about 2 years ago it was great to see the active apps at zero. Since the recent system update to my S5 a couple weeks ago, my old app killer no longer worked so I was reeeally hoping this would ~ but my active apps just keep on runnin'.
Wow, I am amazed how effective this app is! I bought a wifi camera and the remote app for it was draining my battery at such an outrageous clip i had to disable it. I tried a myriad of other apps, battery savers, app managers galore ad nauseum. None of them were effective. Finally I found this truly amazing app. Battery drainers are no match for the ZAPPER. Better than advertised!! Thank you Lookout for saving my phone. The best app ever!!!
My G4 updated to Android 6 and suddenly the only app showing up in Zapper's list of apps is...Zapper. Can this be fixed? If not an uninstall is in the cards. That would be a pity since Zapper's been a genuine asset until this started. Fortunately Lookout does not share the abhorrent behaviour displayed by Zapper and remains THE best anti-virus and security app for Android.
It significatly saves on battery power i have a galaxy note 2. My cell was killing battery cause I play games that require wifi gps etc. I was debating on th3 rating. Because to ensure. A faster phone. You also need to download a ram booster. And a cleaner to ensure better battery life.
This app is a great way to kill running apps you aren't using. Therefore, it speeds up your phone and you don't have that lagging problem. It's great and very easy to use!! I would definitely recommend it to anyone (: asking has cool sound effects
it doesnt show any other application but itself, it did work good for a week after that the only application in the list us its own. Update tried this again, on another phone and is doing the same thing. Zapper used to be one of the best, what happened? it went from 5 star to 0. Waste of space and time.
I have a lot of stuff running on my LG G4 and the only thing that shows up when I launch the application is this application. Seems kinda pointless if it can't tell me any of the applications I can kill to save battery and free up some memory. Don't see any place to go in and adjust settings. Guess I have to find a different app killer.
I've been trying to find a cache and RAM cleaner replacement to Clean Master, something that doesn't bombard me with ads all the time. As a Lookout user I thought this would be the one. While it does what it's supposed to, it lacks the convenience and one-touch capabilities of CM. I would also like to see the file cleaning capabilities of apps like CCleaner featured. Would love to come back to this app if some improvements are made.
I use lookout for other things as well. Simply a good user friendly app. Would give 5 stars but it does not kill everything you tell it to. Some apps turn on again. Real pain. Should not need to force stop or disable anything. The app should take care of it.
Looks to me like the standard android RAM Manager usually kills more running processes than this app. Let me know if this app is killing "different" processes than what I mentioned above. If yes, then I will rate it higher. If no then... it gets what I submitted. Using on a Galaxy S3 running Android 4.3.
I use this app often to help save the battery on my phone and it's been great. My biggest annoyance with this app is the sound it makes when you kill the apps. Even in silent mode it still plays. I would like the option to turn it off. 4 out of 5 stars until it is fixed.
For this kind of application when i open i expect a kill button. But i see "select all" button instead. Finding the setting option is also not so quick. I could not observed much performace improvement. As others also notified, user should be able to disable the zap sound. Periodic Auto kill should also be there.
Zapper IS PEACE OF MIND! Swift, Safe and efficient. Had it on my S4 Active and have it now on my S5 Active. NO lost data, functions, apps, files, and, NO LOT SETTINGS. It extends battery life by 50%++, especially in Ultra Power Saving Mode. I couldn't live without it. Download this sweet Zapper and pit a shortcut on your homepage, you won't ever regret it.
Super easy to use, super quick to get a hold of the app. One of my favorite things is it doesn't close apps that you're obv. using like music player, or Pandora unless it's paused. It also makes a super cool zap sound.. awesome! :-)
I don't understand what this app is for. The apps you kill pop right back up like Amazon stuff. When you select all it's not possible to deselect one by itself, they all get unselected. Sometimes you select one individually and when the app refreshes it gets unselected again. The app looks good that's why I give it 2 stars but it's useless. Notice developer is silent here. O and they have pop ups wanting you to rate it 5 stars. NOT! 1 million people downloaded this? 1 million are being fooled. Uninstalling.
It used to work great. But when it stopped working, I rated down to one star and listed why. After many months, I decided to reinstall it to see if it was fixed. :-( it has not been fixed. Now I wonder if lookout mobile security is working correctly. May have to switch my account over to a competitor.
This is a good task killing app but does not close all the apps you would think it would, like 4oD app, Steam app, Heyzap app, 8 Ball Pool game, Movie Pop game & the Tegra app. So AVG security app is still the best to optimise your device as that will close all games & apps besides the apps needed for your devise to run smoothly!
Had a different one that killed some apps that were locked on this. Also is there a way to turn off the sound? I use it at work with my phone muted and it makes a loud sound when I kill the apps. Kind of draws unwanted attention while I am at my job and not supposed to be on my phone. Other than that seems to work great.
I don't know a lot of user are not having prob with Zapper but when I installed it, the app icon is not shown in my home screen and it's not even in my app drawer. So in order for me to open the app, I needed to go to Play store and open it from there. Next, lots of apps I'm not using and it couldn't kill them. Also those I want kill can't be killed. I think reviews here are all fake. So please beware when installing this App. Clean Master app is far more better than this.
Great app to really stop the games or movies/tv you play. Helps with background battery usage. Wish it would keep killing those pesky apps that insist on starting up when the phone turns on! I kill 'em but they keep coming back.
Doesn't work. Never even started once after the install. It just says application has stopped. Would like to try it since the scanner works so well and has caught a couple things that could have hurt my phone. Ahh well, maybe after an update. I'll leave it on for now and keep trying occasionally.
I quite often felt that my tablet was running slower than usual and had to go a long way round to figure out why. This app easily identifies what apps and services are currently running and shows what memory and process speed it is using - if it's not needed zap it, it's great.
When you have many apps and want all of them "killed", the 'Select All' feature works great BUT if you'd like to select all but one or two, the intuitive thing to do is to 'Select All' and then deselect the one or two you'd like to leave active.... and that doesn't work properly. Attempting to deselect only one actually deselects all. So, from what I can see, if you want to 'kill' 99 of 100 apps, you need to manually select the 99 one at a time.
This app doesn't even show 10% of the apps I have downloaded, let alone the OS apps that I would like a quick way to automatically stop, even if only for a few minutes. I'm Uninstalling this app. Not half as good as most.
This is best among all task killer but still needs some improvement. Its doesn't have widgets also it's can't do auto task if memory goes down. I hope in next update will get this...
Love this app! O no longer have to scroll through several menus to first see WHAT is using all of my resources and killing my battery. I just simply launch this app, and let it guide me quickly through the process of "zapping" the offenders.
Seems to do just fine. I've tried other apps similar to this one but they all have issues of one kind or another - too many ads, or they don't actually work. Nice job, thank you!
..the list of apps to kill include some OS services (ya know , stuff the everyday layman is pretty certain you shouldn't touch) and the list itself is too long. I don't want to spend 2 mins looking for and ticking off all the apps I want closed, I just want them closed. Also it's difficult to see that there is a wee grey lock next to apps which I guess you either can't kill or aren't being used, so if ya can't kill em then why list them at all? 3 star bcuz it does work
Its alright could be better looks alright doesnt make it too much of a dufference but its better than some if the app killer apps out there
Hard to understand at first if you're not tech savvy. But actually pretty simple and works good
Lite weight straight to the point and zaps those apps fast man. Click click boom you're out of there you darn apps.
Wouldn't have given it one star, but "they" make you give at least one ... Don't bother downloading or installing this. Only shows itself running, PLUS, kills your battery life if you don't kill IT. Read reviews, they are accurate.
I have tried on a few different phones. This program makes your phone freeze at random, malfunction, run slow. Just a horrible app. As soon as I got rid of this app my phone was fine everytime.
