an amazing app which i installed on my replacement handset months ago after losing my old phone for good. lost phone yesterday hunted high and low to no avail then remembered this app sms sent phone found immediately!! down back of sofa. THIS APP ONLY WORKS IF HANDSET IS SWITCHED ON SO KEEP PHONE CHARGED ALSO LOCATES MORE ACCURATELY WHEN GPS IS ENABLED IN SETTINGS. still worth using if battery dead coz if found and powered up location begins straight away thanks

I dropped my phone at a market place parking lot. Someone found it but never answered my calls. So I researched online how I could find my phone and with this app I was able to find it directly to the house of the person who took it. I'm so in love with this app! Thank you! I usually don't write reviews but i want people to know how awsome it is and it does work! I have all my daughters memories back! <3

Got home and wasn't until a few hours later i realized that I had left my phone at a restaurant. It was now well past closing time. Found a forum post that recommended this program. Installed it and waited. After about 20 minutes of no email I used Yahoo Messenger to send a SMS "locate" message to the phone. I instantly got an email with the location showing it was still there at the restaurant. Awesome app!

Lost my phone & had already turned my house upside down looking for it. Searched my car & my daughter's car. Called the only store I had been to all day. Installed this app (without a wifi connection btw) & within minutes I found that my phone was in my husband's truck, which he had taken to work. Very easy to use. Log in to the google account associated with your phone. Install app from play store on your computer. Go to the gmail account associated with your phone. Check the email from Plan B.

I work at a prison and last night my car got stolen from the parking lot...Crazy, Right? Well my wife immediately calls Verizon and they say there is nothing they can do, so she goes searching online. She downloaded the Plan B Lookout app from the home computer to my phone and within 45 minutes we found my phone safely inside my stolen and abandoned car. Thank you so much for developing a free app like this one. if it wasn't for your app my phone, or my car, probably wouldn't have been found. Thank You So Much!!! P.S. you guys deserve way more than five stars!!!!!!

So, yesterday I brought my Bionic to a Verizon store for a billing issue. I left my phone, but after a phone call and a return visit, two different employees told me my phone was not there. I installed the app this morning which traced my phone directly to their store! Imagine the surprise when I paid them a visit this morning with my laptop. showing them that GPS had tracked my phone there. Within 30 seconds I had my phone back. Very happy today thanks to plan B.

I lost my phone yesterday while on a mountain bike outing. Returned to the trail today and searched all over but no luck. Found this app, installed it, and in a matter of minutes had e-mails telling me the location of my phone! Figured out it was at a friend's house who had found it in the back of his truck where I left it while changing shoes! Great app!

I lost my mobile Model no GT-S7562 on 17th September 2013. I could not tace it out immediately within 5 minitues i gave a call but was switched off. recently i came to know about Plan B This recognised my phoen model but says it has an "X " mark. please help in tracing out my mobile it has lot of stuff in it especially all my doctores phone numbers and important phone numbers which are very essential for me.

It's been about 20 minutes and not an email or anything. I texted locate, and I know my phone is on because I am calling and it is ringing through all the way to my voice mail. Not sure what to do. It would be nice if I had even received an email from google letting me know if the app has been successfully installed.

Works exactly the way it should. So far I've used it twice, once for a lost phone and once for a lost parent! The map is pretty accurate. Good for finding someone too! If you know your kids' Google play email you can find their location. I give it 4 stars though because the email with the location did take a little while to come up. Took about an hour.

This app is just about the only one you can use when your phone is already lost. It installs remotely and pretty accurately pinpoints the location. Which for me was down the block. I got my phone back and am so relieved because I don't have the insurance on my phone and would have cost me a lot to replace it!

Two factors need to be fulfiled for this app to work and send emails with location 1. Phone must be on 2. Internet connection on your phone must be on when sending message "locate" from other phone. I tried to send "locate" message with internet off on my device and no emails were received to my email box with location. If you send "locate" message with internet connection off and later turn on the connection the app will not lacte your phone even though it's on. If your phone gets stolen and is off it is not possible to locate it. As to pinpointing location it is quite accurate.

We used plan b after a friend of mine dropped his phone in 6 acres of tall grass, we went back to a pc and had him sign in under gmail account, installed and with in 5 min we had an idea of where to look. His phone was on vibrate so calling was not an option, and he had no other phone location apps installed before it was lost (IE "wheres my droid" or "android lost") plan b was our only hope. After looking at the email which turned on the gps we had a pretty good idea of where to start searching and it was found!!!!

Plan B's first attempt at locating my phone was off by almost a mile. I was no where near that area so naturally was skeptical about that trace so I had my roommate text "locate" and received the email which had a much more reasonable trace. I went ahead and had him send another text and the third trace was even closer. Mind you I'm in Michigan and it's blizzard conditions so it took a lot of digging through snow with my hockey stick until I found it but this app was a life saver!

This was a great find when my wife's phone went missing tonight. Rather than wonder if it was just dropped in the mall somewhere, this app let us know that, being a few miles away, it was definitely "stolen". Trouble is, that the app located the phone to "within 1600 meters" which is a HUGE area. So, we couldn't just send the SWAT team to the culprit's house. But, what it DID do was spook them into realizing that the phone was now being tracked. That, accompanied by a few text messages from me about the cops being "on their way" was enough to get them to call and say, "We found your phone. Come get it." So, the story ended well, but this experience has made us start to think about taking better measures in case this happens again.

I didn't lose my phone. I just wanted to test this app out. (Note that it automatically installs on your phone only if your phone is in a wifi network, and your phone needs to be turned on.) I got it to install automatically, but I didn't get an e-mail back. I tried this twice already. (My phone is compatible for this app.)

My phone was stolen recently and I had not previously installed any security software. I didn't even have a screen lock on it. I downloaded Plan B the next day although I knew the phone was dead. The person who stole it charged the phone and once they turned it on ( full 10 days later), Plan B sent me an email with the GPS coordinates giving me an exact location where my phone was. I called police, they went to the house and retrieved my phone. I 100% recommend it!

I lost my phone last night & after a couple of hours of sobbing about it, I found this app & downloaded it from my computer to my phone. They send me a link to a map where it was traced & I drove to the place where I confronted the guy about my phone & how I tracked it. He was shocked & couldn't deny it! He had no other choice, he had to give it back or I would have called the cops! I absolutelyy loveeeeeeee this app! It saved me of buying another phone. Thank you!:) I definitly recommend it!

Someone must have found my phone at the pub last night and tossed it when they couldn't unlock it. This app found it within five minutes! I literally street viewed where my phone was, drove there and picked it up off the ground.

I'm so grateful for this app. literally. because I lost my phone & gave up all hopes of finding it until I searched on the web of how to locate your lost phone so I downloaded it & honestly was find of skeptical at first because some reviews on here were negative. but it sent me an email within 10 minutes of downloading it & the location. it was amazing!! deff keeping this app just in case it happens again. very grateful!!

I lost my phone and so tried using Plan B to locate but so far I've installed the app to my phone but haven't received a single email... I messaged "locate" to my phone from my brother's phone once also.

this app was easy to use and found my phone within 15 minutes....at a ski hill 2 hours away where my husband accidentally packed my phone into his suitcase. I would definitely recommend this app to anyone who hasn't already installed tracking measures. One glitch was that I had forgotten I had a gmail account and was looking for the emails on my other email accounts...once I figured it out and opened my gmail, it was smooth sailing.

Completely misplaced my phone yesterday in CVS and im convinced someone found it and has it. So I called sprint and they told my to download plan b...the problem is that its "not compatible with" my current phone. It would be great if they could update the app so that it would be compatible with my phone. Looks like a great app, if it would work.

Everything worked fine. Bizzarly my phone must not be dead yet, after a whole day which it weird. Anyway i got the emails, but each one said a slightly different location which wasn't helpful since im looking for it in my house. Other than the specificity, the app works.

helped me locate my phone with great accuracy, quick and reliable. a MUST HAVE if you dont already have look out security app.

Really helped me out. I'm glad I didn't have to buy a new phone. I had done a lot of running around and couldn't narrow down where I could have left the phone this app did the job for me. I could see one down side is the broad area it displays. If you lose your phone at a mall or sporting event you'll know it's at the mall or stadium, but still have a lot of ground to cover.

I followed all the directions, and in the end the app did absolutely nothing. I texted locate to my phone several times to try and get the app to start and it has done diddly squat. I have been waiting for over an hour and not a single email. This really blows, because that phone is my wife lying to friends, family, and work. Now I am going to have to replace it unless the app starts working. I know the phones on, it rings through when I call it. I know my GPS is on, because I use Google Maps a lot. There's no reason why this app should not work however it just doesn't. On that alone I can't recommend others use this app. What's the point of downloading an app onto your phone that doesn't work?

Please, does this app work when the phone WiFi and GPS are switched off? I've been checking my email over and over again but, nothing yet even though it says the app is installed. I have texted locate several times and no success yet.

I NEVER lose my phone but did at a particularly poor time. The app downloaded quickly and began searching for my lost phone. Within 10 minutes I had a location within just a few meters! I went back to the location that was 10 miles away. Found it within a few minutes! Happy girl! :)

This app is super awesome. I always seem to lose my phone and this helped me find it! FYI: The first location they send you is probably a little bit off because it takes a little while for the search to narrow it down. But if you wait a couple minutes, the phone will be located quite precisely.

It works! Used it three Times... You have to install it through a computer and then txt locate from another phone and it will send info to the email account that's linked to the lost phone... The only problem if it won't work if your phone is off or has no internet connection.... I wish they could make it to where then phone turns on when you txt locate and then tracks it.. But sadly it doesn't...

It doesn't work!!! I downloaded it, I had it on my phone. I lost my phone 2 days ago. I keep texting locate and nothing comes out. PLEASE HELP! I'M FREAKING OUT!> PLEASE

If your phone is turned off it doesn't work so looks like i can't get my phone back. Please update to where it can be turned off to find it and maybe i will give it 5 stars!!

Especially nice for a free app and really useful, but it needs to be more discrete. For example, it should disable the vibration (and the ring of a new text message) when "locate" is texted to the phone so that any possible thief won't think of immediately shutting off the gps service while it runs silently in the background

Lost my phone in a Home Depot parking lot around noon, and unwitting to the loss, kept running errands for about 2 hours. Retraced my steps exactly, checked with service desk at three stores, and finally arrived home and called Verizon (USELESS!) Kept calling the phone with no answer. Went online, learned about Plan B from CNET and downloaded the app. The Plan B email came to my GMail account in less than ten minutes with a map identifying the location, provided a range of addresses at that location, as well as exact lat and long coordinates. Entered the address in Google which produced a name and phone number for the address. Called the number, explained the situation and learned that the home owner had a contractor working at their house who she put on the phone, and confirmed that he had found it and that I could come over and pick it up. Without this app I would have never found the phone because it was password protected and did not have any emergency info or owner information accessible through the limited screen functions in password mode.

after reading some reviews, I thought this is the most awesome app to recover my lost phone. It claimed that this app is compatible with my phone, so I installed it. After installing, I waited and the icon install changed to INSTALLED. I waited for an e-mail to arrive but almost 2 hours have passed but no emails. I even send the word locate to the phone. I'm afraid that my phone is out of battery or has been shut off. Whatever the reason is. At least it should have send me an email to say that the search has begun. Dissapointing..

This app is amazing, it quickly sends me the location of my lost phone. But i find that the gps is not accurate enough..it says , when on "birds eye view", that it is on my drive, and on peg-man it says that it is on my wall...It is niether. Furthermore i still cant find my phone but it is great technology! I find this app is better for if your phone gets stolen. But all together this app is very good i recommend it to others!!!!

Usually this app works, but its not locating my phone at all. Does this app work if the phone might be turned off, if someone stole it.

I stayed after school today and I left my phone in a classroom, the phone isn't where I left it, so someone picked it up with good or bad intentions, I don't really care, I don't have my phone. I have find my droid but the commander isn't working,and I forgot my trigger word, so I resorted to this nice application with a gleam of hope. I texted locate to my device using my ipad, no emails, nothing, and i know my phone is on, but the sound is off. I have been waiting for over an hour, I am disappointed, though I hope someone returns my device to me tomorrow.

Unbelieveable! What a great tool! Was going crazy looking all over town. Installed Plan B and located the phone at home! Thanks a bunch! Just wish I could zoom in the map a bit more to better locate what area of the house!
