Logitech Squeezebox Controller

It used to work great. It seemed to be freezing up last week, I gave up on it and decided to reinstall. Now it locks on the "free your music"screen. Please fix. Nexus 5 running Android 5.1 *still not working, please free my music.

Most recent version hangs on the free your music screen. No error, just does nothing. Tried it on two galaxy S5's with lollipop in a house with one server and two radios. Squeezebox remains an awesome system and there are fully functional third party apps such as squeezer.

It does not work for several android versions already, just a black screen and nothing after that. Tried reinstalling after several android upgrades (now on 8.1) still the same issue... I tried on several phones also. Squeezebox on my iPad works fine. And the iOS equivalent of this app also works fine on both iPad and iPhone. Logitech, go fix this app.

this app does not work on android on a galaxy tab s. logitech have not supported the SB since they took it over. seems they just wanted to kill it. TRY SQUEEZER, it works, is free and looks great.

Way to alienate your customers, Logitech. When I buy a product, I expect its features to work with the latest updates. If you don't show loyalty to your customers by keeping your product's features up-to-date, don't expect any loyalty back. Signed, a Former Logitech Customer.

Nice but, frustratingly, random albums are missing from lists, even tho they are fully accessible on the player itself, or web server, so I know they're there. Sometimes wipe and re-scan make them appear but then new ones go missing! Buggy. EDIT: no longer works. Have grabbed an alternative free controller.

It works okay, but does not display album artwork at all. The fullscreen now playing shows a black background. The album index screens show broken image icons. The only real advantage over the Squeezer app is that Squeezer does not update Now Playing properly and requires refreshing manually. So far, SqueezePad for the iPad is the best Squeezebox remote I have found (besides the web interface on a PC). It would be nice to find an equally good app for Android.

First how could you let a great product like the Squeezebox go un-noticed by the balance of mankind ! ? a Good Defense rolls to Great Offense. I need you to get a body on fixing this App ! Lollipop 5.0.1 has knocked it out. This was a very heavily used app by myself. Great for searching for podcasts news and music. You need to reboot all efforts on this ! And Thank you.

Use to be great 5☆s now dead blank screen after Android Marshmellow update. Previous review: went to the Starbucks and turned on my Squeezebox and changed the channels. Very impressive. PROs: flips thru favorite channels faster than remote; big album graphics displayed. I would ♥♥♥♥ & pay developer$$$ to come up with App that scans stations for 5 seconds like a car radio.

Everything works great except you can't save playlists from the app. It gives you a search button instead of an enter (same thing happens with my wife's Lenovo). Other than that it works just as well if not better than my Touch's screen and it makes navigating my radio easier.

The other controller apps use squeezebox media server, which means that you need to have a computer on all the time. This one controls directly but does not work at all on latest version of Android. Makes the system useless to me.

My Duet controller sees the player no problem but this app can't. Turned off cell service so only using same WiFi connection as the controller still nothing. There is nothing else the app can do. Just a refresh button that doesn't do anything. Using kit Kat 4.4.4 on moto G

Have been using this app for a long time. Nexus 5 & Nexus 7 updated to Android 5.1 yesterday and app no longer connects to LMS, with rendering issues on screen. Waiting patiently for fix - this app is gold in my house where it lets me control 4 SB Radios.

App just stopped working on my nexus 7 and HTC One M8. Hang on the screen saying "Free Your Music." Logitech has done a bad job supporting Squeezebox boom and Radio. I am researching buying Sonos.

They discontinued support of the squeezebox line and this app. Other available squeezebox apps (which are way nicer looking and feature rich) sometimes don't work on newer versions of Android, because they are no longer maintained by their developers (basically, they followed Logitech's lead out the door).

Ok but a bit buggy on dell streak. back arrow dosnt always work. Only limited control. I still prefer the nokia 770 skin built in to squeezecentre which has now been removed. Now since the update very slow network times out. So no use.

Doesn't connect all of the time, is constantly saying it can't find my Squeezebox. After rebooting my Squeezebox multiple times it will finally find it and stay connected until I leave the house then when I get home I have to do it all over again.

When I first had the app it worked about 60% of the time and when it worked it was a great way to control my Squeezebox. Now it won't even get past the first screen! Don't imagine this app will be improved at all in the future.

Last update 3/15/12? Come on Logitech! Since the latest 5.1 Android update this app stopped working. THERE IS A FIX. Uninstall Android System Webview app and the app will start to work again. Your phone won't be as secure but the app will load as it did.

Worked great until my phone got Lollipop (Xperia Z3). Please Logitech, fix this. I hope this is not an attempt to make us all switch to your awful UE platform, otherwise both my radios will end up on eBay.

No big surprise. Logitech abandoned some of the slickest hardware when the dropped the radios and software. Look at the competition out today and the squeeze line is still better. If you still use squeeze stock up on the hardware it is getting harder to find.

I made the mistake to upgrade. I guess they don't support it anymore and push to use the new apps UE smart radio. But this means upgrading the box and recreating a new account and losing our settings. Go on their site there is an option to migrate to this new apps.

I have used this app for over a year without issues on 2 nexus 5 phones. Since latest o.s. upgrade, doesn't work. It just launches and sticks on "free your music". It does this on both my nexus 5 phones. My daughter has iPhone 6 and it works fine on hers.

Free Your Music, that's as far as it gets on an up to date Nexus 7. Don't you just love it when you invest in an ecosystem that is soon abandoned by the manufacturer? I have 3 units, anyone want to buy a Squeezebox?

App won't get past the "Free your Music" splash screen on my Samsung Galaxy S6 and S7 Edge. It just doesn't even start. I wonder if the developer knows this or has already issued a fix.

Dear Logitech, this app has run well on two previous phones and home networks. All of a sudden, it won't open. I am now using a third party app. (Squeezer.) Such a shame. Uninstalling and avoiding Logitech products from now on.

Functionality-wise, the app is ok. Basic controls are there but more advanced stuff, like using the auto sleep or setting alarms, are missing. It stopped working after upgrading to Android Lollipop.

If you're going to use your Android phone/tablet to control your Squeezebox(es) on a regular basis, do yourself a favor and spring for one of the third-party paid apps, like Squeeze Commander or Orange Squeeze. This one works, sort of, but it's glitchy and the interface is not very good at all. Might be okay for rare use, but not as an everyday controller. Spend a couple bucks and get one of the good apps.

Won't connect to radio on new phone running Android 5.1. With no updates in over three years I have to assume this is an abandoned product. Guess I'll be wary buying anything from Logitech in the future.

This app is now dead. I can find no link to the so - called fix by Weston Worth. Moreover, Logitech is not supporting the app so this will eventually fade into oblivion. Time to evaluate the 3rd party alternatives.

I was devastated when this app stopped working after upgrade to Lollipop. However, all is not lost so please all of you having the same problem look for and implement the fix by Weston Worth on 10th June 2015. Big Up Weston!!!

Upgraded my phone to Galaxy S6 Edge+ now Squeezebox freezes when I attempt to launch it. Uninstaller and reinstalled, cleared cache but still no go.

On android 5 and 6, it just sits at the "Free your music" start screen. Version 1.1.4 with ICS fixes ran OK on my old Galaxy Nexus, but the text and buttons were TINY, so small that it is painful to use.

Lollipop is out for more than 1 year, the application does not work and Logitech seems to abandon this product. I will keep this in mind when looking at Logitech products. This is a big showstopper.

Another Logitech abandonment on the squeezebox. Killed by lollipop. You are a massive company u should fix it, or I'll never buy Logitech radio ever again.

App doesn't even find my player anymore since I updated my phone to latest OS. What is worse is there's no word at all from Logitech. Do they care at all about their customers? Was good (slow, sometimes trouble connecting) but overall managed to do a decent job previously. Potential to be a really great app...

Used to be great, but apparently Logitech has not bothered to check the app for compatibility issues since android 5. I get the splashscreen when starting the app, but that's all. Now even the web remote is failing from chrome on android. If this is how Logitech rewards its customers, I'm not sure I will be interested in any more products from them. It doesn't matter that my Squeezebox Boom is a high quality device, if I can no longer use key functions. (Will change this review to five stars if necessary updates are made.)

Upgraded to a Tab S and lollipop - does not load at all. I will find a different app.

I will never buy another Logitech anything. They have very mediocre software and then they don't even support it. This one hasn't been updated in two years and won't even run on my Note 4 running Lollipop.

This app worked beautifully and I used it very much but now all of a sudden it is not working. I think that this app is not Lollipop compatible as it is not working on my wife's phone also.
