Harmony® for Android
Harmony Hub can't be reached, can't pair sync, red light blinks, and as soon as the app connects via Bluetooth, it turns solid red. Can't set it up at all now, forgot device, uninstalled app, installed on multiple android devices, nothing works, same thing, blinks then stops says it can't connect and to make sure its on... only way to fix it is with a Windows PC.
An older version didn't work with pixel, but it seems they've fixed that. Harmony is the best all in one remote out there atm, but until singular device commands are exposed via API to smart home controllers like Vera plus, smart things, and wink, 3 stars is the max I can give out. From their API documentation "With this generation of API you cannot control devices directly." Which may sound confusing to some, you actually can control singular devices, but you would have to set up an activity for each command on each device. But it's a Crazy amount of work to go through for something that you would think would be easy to give access to.
Great app works really good. One thing, please make it possible to back up all the settings. If you want a second phone or a new phone with the same settings you have to do the set up all over again. First time setup cost me about an hour and I don't want do do that over and over again.
After lots and lots of frustration and hours on the phone we were finally able to get the system working. Unfortunately it doesn't seem to hold changes. As an added plus tonight it started randomly opening and closing the Blu-ray player. This also changes the TV input. Problematic at best... plus I think I'm beyond return date.
When the Geek Squad can't get it to do what it's supposed to do and refunds your money for their visit, there's issues. It turned the tv off and on and opened Netflix. Nothing else was recognized by Alexa
Why doesn't this app allow for devices to be swapped out in a particular activity? I have a somewhat complicated setup and I would have to recreate my activity from scratch just to put a new soundbars in place of the old one. Needlessly tedious.
I bought a Harmony remote and hub thinking it would control web enabled devices via IP, like any number of apps can do, but it doesn't. It still relies on blasting IR signals to control devices. Put a team on adding this capability or Harmony is toast, IMHO.
Recently installed on a lg gpad, and it is unbelievable how unresponsive the touch screen is with this app. I find myself having to press the screen repeatedly to do something. It' like the screen isn't working. Running the latest version of the app, and it's quit useless. Love the remote and hub, but this app is something else.
I didn't have any difficulty getting my devices in or getting basic setup done, but for some reason I couldn't get to the point where it was a remote at first. I had to login every time I started it, and then I had to go to the setup every time I started it. Eventually the right arrow darkened from grey to black and I was able to move on. This was pointless. It seems to work fine now.
Very buggy. Goes into a connect loop when something goes wrong and will not allow you to stop it's insane connection attempts even though something is failing. Too bad. When it works, it's nice. But it continuously loses connection then loses it's mind.
I wanted a remote to simplify my setup not complicated it. Does NOT work with my Philips TV, and gets the inputs wrong every time. Does NOT fully work with PS4 despite labeling in the package. I have to still touch every remote to fix inputs and turn things on. And best But is charging a restocking fee to return. I've list time, money, and patience on this device and app. I have a job and a family and no time to "work with" a slow Logitech support process as a previous response implied. I want a remote that delivers on it's promises. I want my money back.
App stops responding randomly on two phones. I have to restart it frequently. This is really bad when the wife comes in to ask me a question and I cannot turn the sound down or pause, especially true when I'm watching an R movie and the kids wake up and I can't stop it until I restart the app. I shouldn't have to keep falling back to the factory remotes. Fix this crap!
this has always been a buggy and underdeveloped application especially in its relation with the harmony smart keyboard! I wish Google would acquire Harmony, then we would see consistent development from capable developers!
Good idea, poor application. Cannot configure activities after update. I am on 2.4Ghz wifi and have forced closed the app and reopened it but it still tries to connect via cloud and wont it wont let me change anything. It cannot find the hub on the same network the hub is on.
Keep having issues with this unit not holding its programming for my remotes, even after getting help from tech support. So now its an exensive drawer ornament that is not used.
I have a harmony elite remote. WHEN it and the app works, it's great. At least once a week I'll come home and it just won't work. Some of the activities won't turn on and it won't control any devices. $350 is too much to spend for a REMOTE that works sometimes.
Didn't work at all. Tried to start t.v. App completely freezes and will not close to the point I have to restart my phone... The activity works fine with the actual remote just fails with the app. Just awful
Just moved to a pixel XL... Harmony does not start up. Just flashes disHarmony at me. Have to go to phone settings and stop the app. Then try again. Usually then works. So bad
Garbage. Spins in a restart loop forever now. Previously doesn't cope with network state transitions. This has nothing to do with the frequency band of the router: phones go to sleep and drop WiFi to save power, and your app needs to deal with it taking a few seconds for the network to be available again after waking up. Deducting another star for the idiotic and clueless response from the dimwitted developer. Frequently just stops working entirely. Design looks really cheesy, like it was made by someone just learning Android 2.0. Twice as many buttons could fit on each page.
That "security feature" of not letting 5ghz devices connect to the hub it's just retarded. I can't switch my phone's wifi band and my router just like many high-end routers manage both 2.4 and 5ghz networks as a single unified network switching devices around as needed. Having to reconfigure my whole network just to use an app it's just dumb.
This app is defective and didn't work. A lot of work is needed to fix it. Will not learn commands correctly. Now crashes and freezes up. Makes my Amazon Echo and Harmony worthless.
Doesn't even find my hub. It's gone from bad to worse. I don't understand how Logitech can't get the basics right. I now have to pull out my iPad everytime I want to use the app, as the iOS version is fine.
I installed this on my Galaxy SIII and on my Kindle. It really works as advertised. I had to tweak a couple of things to be able to switch activities between watching TV and watching Netflix but I'm very happy with this app. If I could have one feature it would be to optionally shrink controls or perhaps combine control pages, When used on a tablet that would make swiping between pages much less needed while watching TV or viewing the STB guide.
Breaks wifi on my Galaxy S7 edge. My device switches b/w wifi and mobile data every 5 seconds. Reset my phone issue fixed. Reinstalled the Harmony app issue returned. Uninstalled the Harmony app and my phone wifi is fully operational. Please fix app!
Riddled with bugs; spent countless hours trying to get it to configure my hub to work in an expected way. Found edge cases where the app would simply refuse to persist my settings to my account properly. Using the MyHarmony app for Mac instead, suddenly my devices are honoring the desired power settings, where no combination of fiddling would succeed from the Android app.
There is no way to rearrange buttons for smartphone screen of a specific Device! Why can't there be an option to simply rearrange the buttons when selecting a certain device? It only allows rearranging buttons when you select an Activity - and only that current active one - is allowed to be edited. This is a severely flawed design.
You shouldn't have to be scared to update an app, but somehow Logitech manages to lower the bar with every succeeding release. "What have they done THIS time"? My God, it's just a remote control. Make it work and stop playing with the codebase.
It's ok but inconsistent... App seems to stop working periodically. After sitting for a few minutes or leaving the all to do something else on my phone I have to force close the app and reopen it to get it to work
But this is one of the worst and most unintuitive user interfaces I've seen since Lotus Notes. Updated review: it still sucks. Come on guys, hire a UX expert. At least use Google's design guidelines and for god's sake, stop checking for firmware updates every time I do something. You'd think once every five minutes would be enough.
Decent app for the Harmony series of WiFi remotes. Biggest gripe is the artificial limit of devices (8 or 15 depending on your model of hub). In a world with multiplying smart home devices, this severely hampers the products usefulness. For what it does though, it does pretty well. For me, using a touch screen will never feel intuitive for a TV remote, but I do appreciate the ability to use my phone's volume buttons to adjust the volume on the TV.
It would be very helpful if you could print out the commands associated with the buttons on the physical remote for any or all activities. Better would be printing them on a layout of the remote. Currently it is cumbersome to have to go button by button to find where, or if, a command is located. Also, when creating a new activity, it would be nice to be able to prioritize the devices that make up the activity. Currently the priority seems fixed as video input source, then TV, then AV receiver.
I'm not sure if it's an update to the app or my new Pixel phone, but I can no longer sync my settings with the hub or edit any activities. Turning things on/off is fine, so the app (my phone) is on the correct network, I suspect it has something to do with my phone being on the 5G network and the hub being 2.4G, which shouldn't be an issue but I've noticed it's made a difference in the past.
This app has not allowed me to login. After entering username and password, it takes me to the blue logi screen, with options to sign up or login with Facebook, Google, or email. But will not advance from that screen. This has been an issue for a few months now, and now is the time I want to add a new device and cannot. I'm sure it's gotta be something simple, but I need help with this
App Limited. Unable to play sequences. I define all sorts of sequences and program them against the buttons on the remote, but when using the app they are unavailable. Massive limitation means the app is basically worthless. will give it three stars as it does basic stuff pretty well.
Button layouts dont sync across devices. Keeps notification active, even when app disconnects from hub. Buttons do not work when this happens and you have to relaunch the app to fix. Would be better if the app did this in the background or closed the notification when the app disconnects. Stick with a physical harmony remote. You will save yourself a lot of frustration.
This a terrible and buggy app. Spent 4 hrs trying to configure my harmony elite. It worked once then it bugged out now nothing works! Can't even turn on the TV right. The app is total garbage, now I have this expensive remote that can't even turn on the TV even my $150 phone can do that and so much more. What a waste of my life trying to get this to work!
I love my Harmony and it really is powerful but am giving three stars because after several years I would think the app would have a new design and better functionality. For example, landscape mode on my phone and portrait mode on my tablet. Or design. Let's admit the look is getting very tired. Why does the notification on lock screen and in notification shade for Androids appear black unlike all others that are white? I'll change to 5 stars once Logitech refreshes a very boring app.
This app is amazing! I have tried various other ones such as anymote and SURE universal remote and the harmony blows them away. I can now use amazon echo to activate all of my activities to control all of my devices any way I see fit. Great job guys!
The IFTTT SUPPORT ONLY WORKS FOR HARMONY ACTIVITIES NOT DEVICES.. We need device support!!!! THERE'S ALSO NO SUPPORT FOR RUNNING MULTIPLE ACTIVITIES AT THE SAME TIME. For example , my curtains and home entertainment system. Once I turn on my curtains in activities, my tv turns off. Vice versa as well. Activities cannot run independently without interfering with another activity. Very disappointed. I'm returning my harmony home hub until harmony fixes these MAJOR issues.

Not 100% stable, especially during sync of devices or activities. Can't rename or delete device commands that I've created, can't change device icons, can't add an IR device to Home devices. Would like to see activities available as widges, and a more intuitive icon for app. Come on Logitech, it's not rocket science.
