About Bulletproof Food Detective

Bulletproof Food Detective has two main components:
•Food Sensitivity Test
•Relaxing Breath Pacer

Inflammation is an innate response to injury, stress, or illness, poor gut function or eating toxic foods (high-toxin, high-sugar, high-processed, high-gluten, etc.) and induces an inflammatory response. When this response becomes the norm for your body, it becomes a low-level feature in your physiology and problems arise.

It turns out that inflammation is the common link between cardiovascular disease, cancer, diabetes and obesity in developed nations and thus should be reduced by whatever means available.

Bulletproof Food Detective provides a tool for detecting food sensitivities that may contribute to low level inflammation. If you are sensitive to certain foods, you may not experience symptoms, though your body reacts by elevating your heart rate after eating an offending food. The food sensitivity feature will detect this elevation in heart rate which can occur anytime up to 1 ½ hours after eating an offending food.

Using either the Bulletproof Food Detective camera sensor or a compatible heart monitor, Food Sense monitors your pulse three times after eating and assigns either a red “X” (sensitive) or a green checkmark (not sensitive).

The Bulletproof Food Detective has a Relax screen that features a breath pacer to help you balance your nervous system. By exhaling at 2 times the length of your inhale, you can dampen the effects of the “fight or flight” response and enhance the “rest and repair” response of your nervous system.

The Bulletproof Food Detective Relax screen has a breath pacer that prompts you to inhale and exhale at this 1:2 ratio to restore balance to your day.

Piece of work! Don't bother. I started out taking a manual pulse while I waited for my heart rate monitor to arrive. After that, there was no way to switch the app from manual to heart rate monitor. I tried everything. I even tried creating a different account. Then I tried downloading the Sweet beat app, which cost 5 dollars and also was a piece of work. I feel ripped off. This definitely increased my stress!a

As with the other complaints, this app is nonfunctional. I am unable to enter a HR. Per the screen shots, there should be an option to enter a HR on the Food Screen, but this option is not there. I think it is safe to say that the developers have no intention of correcting this issue for Android users.

N70%
by N####:

Bummed! Was looking forward to doing some investigating and detection but I can't get app to function at all.disappointing. Will ask bulletproof what's going on.

N70%

Don't understand why this app doesn't use the camera to measure pulse?? I've had camera apps that measure pulse before iPhone even had the capability. Please fix!

So many bugs, poor user interface. not ready for distribution.

MANY phones and wearables have integrated Heart Rate ♥ monitors, why aren't you utilizing this?

N70%

This app needs to be updated and match the iPhone version which is exponentially better compared to the Android version.

J70%
by J####:

There is no way to input your pulse it's useless

Y70%
by Y####:

This is pretty much unusable. The back button does not go back, but closes the app - very annoying. Not possible to edit previous data. Makes you wait unnecessarily for a whole minute to enter your heart rate. Sent a feedback mail to developers, but no reaction after 3 weeks. Uninstalling.

T70%
by T####:

Mostly useless, it would be easier to use a piece of paper and less annoying. You can't enter food and pulse information when you want manually. It only keeps a list if days with information. To find anything, you have to pull up each day individually. You'd think a Silicon Valley multimillionaire could find someone to create a more functioal app.

F70%

The pulse feature is aggrivating and can't bypass it.

Z70%
by Z####:

App is ok until you make a wrong entry. I accidentally entered 3 digits for for my am heart rate now I can't fix the entry to track my food today. I did find where to decrease the time to enter my pulse from 60 sec to 15sec. They need to make a few tweaks to this version.

Z70%
by Z####:

Like the camera heart rate sensor they utilize in the ios app has long existed on android yet has not been integrated. Not a well built app. Navigation within is poor and dated.

This app has apparently has this same problem for over a year now. Is nobody updating it? I just read the book and was excited to try this app, but like many others I cannot access wherever you are supposed to enter your pulse. I am guessing I need the ability to scroll down to find the entry box, but alas; there are no scroll bars, there is no resizing the screen, there is no dragging the screen. Completely useless. Please fix it. Why advertise it in the book and then not make it usable?

Z70%
by Z####:

The opening screen is almost like the one pictured on the app store page - "To begin your daily test, measure your morning pulse while lying down in bed" appears on the screen. Only problem, there is no way to move beyond this screen. The button that appears in image shown above is not part of the opening screen on the app, so all you get is the opening screen. A giant waste of storage space on my phone. What a disappointment.

Please update so it will use the phone sensor!

After listening to the book, was looking forward to trying this app. After reading some of the other reviews I thought that it couldn't really be that bad. It is. Don't waste your time.

K70%

This app was left to die, better didn't make it for Android

X70%
by X####:

But this horrid app forces you to wait 60sec before even allowing input for each hr. If you were going to put no effort into solving a problem you could've at least stopped before making it worse. Manually entering hr is one thing but to have to pretend that you're counting for 60sec just to be allowed to enter? This app is unusable... Am I to understand that this is the quality of software that bulletproof exec partners with because, if so, not sure I'd go and buy anything else branded by them.

X70%
by X####:

Great idea, needs polish. Forced to waiting 60/15s to input my pulse which I have already measured: annoying; manual pulse measurement should be an option. Also would be more streamlined if it had an option to use an optical pulse reader with the camera/flashlight that are already on most cell phones (like most dedicated heart rate apps). Would also be better if you could edit the food list of a meal, in case you forget/miss something.

K70%
by K####:

Į doesn't matter what numbers I enter other numbers show up and there is no way to remove them. It would be nice to be able to enter the info all at one time instead of waiting 30 minutes for each number. I hope this app will be fixed because it is just what I need.

X70%
by X####:

I have no doubt he'll get this up and running and the bulletproof stress detector app running asap. Just hope it's soon. Also hate how u have to wait for 60 sec. I get that it's more accurate but c'mon let me skip past it if I can do it in 30 sec.

This is an good example how not to make an app. I am big fan of bulletproof but this app will ruin there name. Please rewrite this app or remove it from play store. Horrible experience

X70%

This app is total trash. Pointless download. I'm surprised Bulletproof would even put their name on this. From a Silicon valley millionaire I expected something smart and clever. A kid could code a better app than this. AVOID

Great comcept, but poor execution. Does not live up to the Bulletproof name. Needs some work on on ease of use.

Was really excited to try this. I planned to invest in a heart rate monitor but I can't even get the app to work. It won't go to the screen for me to enter my pulse. I can read the faqs and get to settings but that is it. Really disappointing. Please fix the android version!

I have just downloaded the android app and it's not functioning. I can only click between the tabs but can't seem to figure out how to work with the food tab at all. The help page will load but only 1 out of 9 pages and I can't figure out how to read the rest. I don't like using an app that is supposed to help with stress but instead it increases it. I was really looking forward to this!

Until this program uses the phones camera to take an actual pulse, this app is useless.
