Thermit Lookup

The Thermit Lookup app provides Thermit Welders and planners with an “Aide Memoir” for the key parameters and timings for alumina-thermic welding processes based on user selected Rail Section, Rail Grade, Welding Process and Fuel Gas.

The user makes a selection from the options provided in the pop-up menus based on the matrix of welding processes approved for rail welding. Selections are made based on the rail section and grade of steel being welded, the welding process being used (if appropriate for the selected rail section and grade) and fuel gas being used. Full details of the key welding parameters such as gas pressures, consumables, process timings and equipment are displayed as a list for the welder. Additionally, links are provided to our company web site and Head Office telephone so that consumables and equipment can be ordered or technical enquires related to welding issues can be dealt with.

The database used for both the selection process and the results is automatically synced from the internet every time the app is opened to make sure that you always have the very latest set of data. If you have no internet connection at the time, the app simply uses the last downloaded database so you are still able to use the app fully in a no signal area.
