About An2An Keyboard

Add keyboard support to An2An Remote, to redirect keypress from one device to another device through Bluetooth or WiFi/Network WITHOUT root, allow using an Android device as keyboard of another device. Support physical keyboard/digital gamepad and soft keyboard. This is not a standalone app and requires An2An Remote to work.

Recommend to check compatibility with An2An Remote (Demo) before purchase.

Please contact us for any problem (android.locnet@gmail.com).

Benefits
- Turn wired keyboard into wireless one.
- If you have a phone with built-in physical keyboard, you don't need to buy keyboard for other devices.
- Screen is not blocked by onscreen keyboard or your finger when using another device as input, so you get better view.
- When the target device cannot connect to physical keyboard directly (e.g. no OTG), you can use another compatible device as a "bridge".
- Touchscreen handling consume CPU times, by sharing workload to another device you can get some speed improvement.

Requirements
- An2An Remote (Demo) 3.0.0+ (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.locnet.an2an.demo)

Instructions
1. Install and setup An2An Remote
2. Install An2An Keyboard to Transmitter device, restart transmitter app if running.
3. Connect An2An Remote normally and start using.

Compatibility
This app works with most hardware keyboard/digital gamepad (e.g. dpad or Xperia Play buttons) and key-based software keyboard (e.g. our GameKeyboard app). It may not work well with text-based soft keyboard which directly manipulate input field text. Active soft keyboard on Transmitter device will affect physical keyboard, try switching to a "Null" soft keyboard when having problem.

The keyboard works well on my *not* rooted Android 5.1 and 6.0 tablets with my PC keyboard, although the right shift and control don't work. Escape, Caps Lock and NumLock keys don't work as well. But PgUp, PgDown, Delete, Home/End, arrows and the rest WORK FINE. Highlighting -selecting text with left Shift works good, using left Control to invoke shortcuts works well (like Ctrl-a, Ctrl-c, Ctrl-x, Ctrl-v) AND using foreign language keyboard input works fine; all native language symbols come out fine. Alt-Tab works on the Transmitter tablet, not on the Receiver one. So the pros far outweight the cons. This is the only app that has such functionality and *really* works *without* rooting. On Android 5+ the settings icon is hidden by the keyboard layout selection (in Receiver mode) and you can get to these settings by going to Settings->"Language & Input"->"An2An Receiver" - just note that you have to first enable this app as your keyboard layout/input method. It takes a bit to get used to, but it works - I'm writing this using this app through Bluetooth. Two years ago, I tested this app on Android 4.2 using Wi-Fi and it also worked, and since then no other apps came that have such functionality.. I was using a Bluetooth keyboard until now, but it broke down and I'm looking for a new one, so until I get one, this app really helps. Hope the developers work on it more and give us full keyboard support (with F1-12 keys) and possibly more functionality and features. Still it's a lifesaver.

Purchased, and I keep getting the message that my Samsung keyboard has crashed. Using a galaxy s6 edge to pair with a Samsung tablet s 8.4....not asking for refund as I would like to use this with further development, just not working with my current setup.

i use this for taking notes during class from my Galaxy s Relay. it works well and is easy to use once you get going. However I am unable to use many symbols, such as the question mark key.

So I got it to work with the Motorola Droid 1 (running a cyanogen based Gingerbread ROM) controlling an HTC Flyer (running Gingerbread) via bluetooth. It even works with the Droid's hardware keyboard buttons. I have got this to work with some games that have keyboard support, as well as the XBMC android alpha. The Droid's d-pad works great for some games, and excellently for XBMC. The only problem I can see is the ALT characters that are typed on screen, are not the same as the ones on the keyboard. All the ALT number keys are mapped correctly, as well as the plus symbol, but the other are not. Thanks for making this cool app. I wanted this app years ago, but didn't know what to search for in the market. I'll tell my friends about this app. A bluetooth keyboard for $1.49! Please keep developing this app, and perhaps include mouse emulation support. If bluetooth doesn't allow the same device to be both keyboard and mouse at the same time, I'd glady keep another old phone around for mouse use.

I love this app so much its ridiculous! I am constantly finding new ways to use it. I have recently started using it to connect to my tablet over bluetooth when I am outside of wi-fi (where my tablet has no network connection) and then use the phone (which has 3g) to dictate text to speech thru Flex T9 into Quickoffice Pro. This is an app thats really changed the way I use my devices. I love it !

This is the 1st app I have paid for. I made an account and everything just to try it out and I am not disappointed one bit. I am even impressed at how well it works on the nexus s and captivate s typing for Asus TF300. I just need to get an HTC chacha/status to test out a physical keyboard. Keep up the good work. Cheers!

Where has this app been?! I seriously have been searching for an app that does precisely this for months! From galaxy s3 to my archos 80 g9....this app works seamlessly over Bluetooth. Thank you so much!

This review is written on the nexus 7 to nexus 4 using An2An keyboard over Bluetooth. It really works very well.  I should also mention that I use SwiftKey as my chosen keyboard and I don't get an issue with predictive txt as it doesn't send the word until I full stop or space. Even going back to correct typing works well and it is very responsive just like my Motorola keyboard. Great job.

A keyboard which has predictive text, all sorts of annoyances occur, for example you can't see what you've typed until the word is completed, and other times you end up with duplicated words... It's a first world nightmare.
