AT&T Smart Limits℠ for Android
The idea is still very incomplete. I'm not sure why, when there is a demand for a parent control app, ATT still does not have a robust app. This app still does not allow me to control data and text separately. Its all or none. It should also allow me to create a whitelist or a blacklist of allowed websites. I'm sure ATT can do much better than this.
The Fee is too much! 2017 AT&T should buck up and take some pride in not charging their parents for keeping their family safe. It makes their company look good and make it easier for the customers to monitor accounts! Who is with me on this?
I like to keep track of my kids, data, who they're talking to and block any unnecessary numbers. I have found the easiest way for me to block numbers without having to pay for an app, is to put said number into a new contact as "blocked#", save it, then once saved, u can scroll down in the info of that number and hit block. I know that sounds like a lot, but it's better than having even more charges on ur bill for unneeded apps. Hope that helps a few of u and ur kiddos! It has us ????
They charge monthly without you knowing you are getting charged. I never allowed this charge and a year later finding I had this on my phone. Scam... I had to contact at&t to take take this off my phone.
This app should be optional. It is a huge privacy risk: it doesn't disclose the location where the information it takes is sent, it is hackable, & I keep getting security warnings on it from the other security apps on my phone, as I refuse to "trust it." This app is also absolutely useless for people without children who need supervision. --Plus, I gotta say, "Come on, AT&T people, now that you're 'back together,' you're acting exactly as you did 'pre-AT&T break-apart.' Stop forcing unnecessary fees, ridiculous rate hikes, apps, etc. on your customers."
This app is awesome. It is great to have on my daughters phone. I can block numbers, set times when she can or cannot use her phone, I can block purchases, set text limits, i can see who she communicates with & what times she does that, or I can just make her phone not usable so she can't contact anyone except for any allowed numbers that I set. It is great.
Blocks who I want to block. However...there is a limit of up to 30 numbers you can block. If you already have unlimited minutes, and you pay for this app, then you should have access to unlimited blocking capabilities. Also, there is no option to block numbers based on area code. Please add that.
I like what it has but wish I could block kids from WiFi. What's the point of blocking data besides cost or overages but I can't stop them from getting on the WiFi whenever they want.... definitely a limitation
Stupid why would I have to pay to limit my son from overspending on his data plan it's like a double whammy no matter how you go dumb. When I had Verizon they had the app and it was free it was built into the phone
Like it has been said previously, why should I have to pay a monthly fee to limit data used on a line so I don't have to pay fee for using too much data? Another way to rip off the consumer.
GOOD IDEA, but: Time zones appear stuck on EST, true monitoring would let us see the ACTUAL TEXTS, lastly only direct msgs. are captured - GROUP TXT are NOT, ACTUALLY, several direct TXT did not show up in the reporting. I would gladly subscribe if these things are addressed, but will opt out until they fix it.
I think I should get to see the text then asked if I would like to allow this text or that call. U only get a notifation a text was sent, or a call went threw.
I love it I do wish though it had like caller ID or something so I could tell who was calling or texting so much. It just shows numbers and my teen can maje up anything she wants to tell me.
I've had this service since 2011 and absoulety love it. It tells people my number is not in service anymore which comes in handy when being harassed.
Time zones not accurate in app and wouldnt allow me to make changes. Changed it on website but zone choices are limited. We live in US Virgin Islands which is Atlantic Standard time. Closest option is Eastern which is 1 hr behind us. At&t please fix this! Other than that, like the app.
Great tool to keep an eye on kids. I love that I can set time limits and ground them from their phone while still being able to contact them myself
Need the ability to read the text messages being sent. Would be nice if it had some sort of call number id built in so you could identify who they are talking with.
We're already being milked, but then have to pay up to keep kids from making unnecessary purchases. SMH
It's a good thing to have child's phone along with the locator. Especially if you have problems with them
I love this app this app is good for me keeping an eye on my kids but the only thing is I know it could be an evasion of privacy is when they are texting each other I don't know exactly what they're texting
If you have an iPhone and you send messages to other iPhones this will NOT Show the number. I am strictly Android user but my kids use iPhone and when they message other iPhone users the numbers will not show up. So just a FYI
I love this app. I monitor calls usage and block unwanted calls
It take 2 or 3 times log in and if the screen goes black it start over or doesn't you on. PLEASE FIX !! IT IS PAIN TO GET LOGGED INTO.
The app is not allowing me to log in starting 10/20/17. Never had this problem. I've tried everything. I have to go through the desktop site to access Smart Limits.
This should be a courtesy app to help the customers with overage fees and keeping childrens lines in budget yet its another ATT nickel ($5) and dime fee.
I purchased smart limits so my son's phone would turn off at 9:30pm so he will go to bed and it doesn't turn off
This is great for parents. I can control their access times and see where they are if needed. They focus better without the temptation of the phone during school and homework.
Don't know anything bout it haven't used it nor have I wanted to
You have to pay to use smart limits... Which is built into every android phone for free .
This app gave me trust issues.
Forcing apps is like slavery. I want out & to delete it
Helps keep track of calls and blocks unwanted calls.
Another forced app, another reason to dislike AT&T.
It is a great app, it let's me know who my 15 year old is texting and much more. Love it! I highly recommend it????????????
It would be a great addition to get an alert when a blocked or monitored number calls.
I want to actually be able to read their texts. And block images.
Love this app! Can block or unblock a number as I need to.
Love this! My daughter definitely needed it. From day one I set limits via the app and we have not problems with her using her phone during school hours or after 9PM! It's great! I also use it to turn off her cell data while she's at home so I can be sure she is only using wifi! It only takes a second and it has cut down usage by ALOT!
Until I get a message informing me my "free trial" is almost over and they will be charging me 5 bucks extra a month for this bloat ware. Total scam to increase revenue, I should have to sign up for free trials not be forcibly volunteered for it. Go check your bills right now and see if they have slipped anything else through. Wish I could give it 0 stars.

It's bass ackwards to pay a monthly charge to make sure I don't incur a monthly charge. What a mercenary idea! I can just as easily - for free, which I do - manually monitor my data using "Data Usage" in my phone's Settings, and the "myAT&T" app. On the other hand, it could be very useful to those who have children who have their own cellphones.
