Automate for Android
At first I wasn't sure. Placing 'blocks" on screen and joining them seemed a bit slow. I'm used to writing scripts: where is the text version to edit?! But I soon got faster, and flows give an easy way to jump or loop on conditions. The dev's approach is good: no ads, and you only install permissions you need. Free version only limited in blocks running at 1 time. Big project so will have bugs to iron out but dev is responsive to support queries. Blows competition out of the water. Thanks dev!
Great app. Took a few days to get used to it. But after that it has been easy to use and very useful. You need root for quite a few things. However there are many ways to get around that, and a lot you can do without root. Recommended if you enjoy some programming and of course automation.
Finally my phone knows what to do when I start my car! Only I wonder why I have to start app with chooser but anyway it works just fine combined with timer... ))) You can hack your way to goal I guess is a part of the idea!? Greetings to all developers!
Works very well, I greatly dislike having to swipe with the side of my hand to take a screenshot on the newer Samsung brand phones, this application allowed me to put a screenshot tile in the Quick Settings Menu to fix that. I was also able to make a flow that counts the amount of possible values in a system of a given number of bits where a bit can have a given number of states. There's much more than simple things like that that can be done.
Amazing, the closest app to my heart till now
I have been using this app for 5 minuets and have already crated 2 useful applications or "flows". Very simple and easy to pick up with basic knowledge. Requires some trouble shooting to get apps of the ground but overall, very good.
A really good idea in a really good app. One problem though is that I have a flow that is launching an app infinitely in a loop, and even if I restart my phone or force the app to stop, it still starts again when I open the app. I can't even clear the cache as the cache is 0.00B. Is there a way I can fix the app without losing my flows? EDIT: Llamalab sent me a link to stop the flow. This is really helpful so thank you automate, I didn't lose all my flows!
IF total automation is what U R after, look no further. Access to every sensor combined with a full set of logic functions (if, then, while) give the user total control. Download and try EVERY automation tool on the play store and this is the one you will keep when you are finished. For the programmer/automation engineer who wants/demands EVERYTHING--yet simple and easy enough to use for everyone. Thanks LlamaLab!
I've bought premium version of the app because I quite like it. Instead, every time when I was offline and Automate couldn't verify premium purchases, the "Get Premium" dialog box glitched out (popping out and closing) and then freeze itself. This made the app much worse. Please fix it. (I'll be reporting at the forum later)
This is the best automation app you could find! But there's a big problem with it... When you design a extreme big flow, that's how it's called, you can't make corrections... You can't add anything new inside that big flow, you need to put everything new on the edges..... Making a called spaghetti flow. That's awful! It REALLY needs some way to make space inside a big flow just like a "insert space"? and that pushes everything to any desired direction.
Great app. I would 5 star it but re-enabling lock screen totally breaks the locks screen. It doesn't enable and even after stopping the flow and setting up the lock screen again. I need to find how to fix it now.
One of those apps that reminds you that Android can be really great. Too bad some things dont work without root, but that's not the app's fault.
VERY GOOD APP!!!! used it a few days ago and it helped me with many things I needed for my tablet that it cant do...helped me with setting alarm tone so that I can wake up early for school
Good app, but you have to know what you are doing. I've created dangerous flows that will non-stop lock your phone as soon as its unlocked.
This app is VERY powerful and user friendly out of the box. I made with 2 days experience a very big automated process, just with point and click and 0 line of code. The longer you use, the more features you will find which will make your task easier. I also bought it. It is more worth then it's price. Very good job!
I finally got rid of Bixby! Without root or anything. Check "Hi Bixby, bye Bixby!" flow in Community. Also it's third app I'm trying to set volumes for home/work/night and finally something working 90% flawlessly. Only would like to have zoom in flowchart always available and ability to select connection, because sometimes I just cant remove connection - it creates another one.
Tasker's design is maddeningly counterintuitive. Automate's design really straightforward but no less powerful. The more complex your tasks, the more you'll want to use Automate instead of Tasker.
This is the best automation app I ever used the only problem I have is that a lot of the blocks require root but my phone is motorola so it can't be rooted(belive me I tried)
Very complicated. Installed this as an alternative to tasker, but got confused. Now I know why tasker is better when it comes to android automation!
Fantastic idea and works extremely well, please add a block or a flow that allows the volume rocker to change the media volume instead of the ringtone volume by default, please make it so that you can also stop flows with a shortcut widget and make a block which changes the instruction for when a button is pressed.
The best way to automate many Android tasks and workflows. I used AutoMateIt for awhile, but there's just more power here.
Functional, enjoyable and rewarding app for automation. Easy to use. Can you add a block for enabling/disabling fast charging? E.g. for Samsung phones.
Very user friendly with tonnes of great features. Can use all Tasker plugins. Developer is quick to respond to questions. I just wish it had a dark mode :) luckily you can make a flow to invert colours while Automate is open.
Not beginner friendly and I love trigger apps. Unable to find my original love from years ago. Move on unless you can easily understand even the pics shows here at the app store.
I installed this to automatically enable the WiFi hotspot on my phone when I get in the car so my head unit connects. Does exactly what it says, automated the WiFi based on my phone connecting via Bluetooth to the head unit. Job done!
This application is a simply presented yet extremely powerful must have for anybody who wants their phone to do that one thing they just can't find an app for
Excellent app! A bit of effort is required at the beginning to take in the complexity, then you can enjoy the full power over your device. The in-app doc is good!
Wow, pretty impressive. My Bluetooth dies likely due to some Nougat/Xperia bug. I set up a rule in minutes that simply starts it back up. Thank you!
This app is quite intuitive in its design, and it will definitely help me in tweaking with my phone. I hope you guys continue with your good job,and go on adding more features!!
The open nature of the app makes the possibilities endless! The app is very stable and does what it promises. In the future, I would love to see material design.
Amazingly simple and easy to understand whole still being powerful and customizable. Best app I've ever had for customizing my phone.
I like it a lot! You can set it up, just about to the point where you don't have to worry about forgetting something (like turning on/off wifi) because it can do it for you.
Very epic app! Managed to set up an auto text messager. Could you add in some "equals to" blocks? It sometimes sends me the message and carrys on.
Very intuitive and visual way of creating complex Android functions. The combinations are virtually limitless. You can replicate the functions of almost any device
Root needed. Be sure to root before use this.(because it will never workif you not) Edit : some feature need root but some not so... you can use it but not all feature is available if your device not rooted
The app is awesome, some tutorials (aside from the intro) would help in understanding it and really using it more.
Amazing app which which will fulfill all desires of automation. Didn't expect all features but they did provide!
A must have for me. You can pretty much eliminate need for specific task apps. and do some really cool things that no app wud do exactly as u want to. the paid alternative automagic allows multi line script-blocks, but in reality its a pain to write code on a phone touch screen. I love the node based UI and recommended for non programmers too.
Wow, this is a remarkable app. I started doing Android automation with Tasker, but got fairly intimidated by its style of workflow. Then I tried Trigger which was nicely simplified but too limited for me. Then for a while I used IFTTT which was way "dumbed down" but beautifully designed. Location services bugs abound though. So now I discovered Automate and I'm so impressed with its visual workflow style. Flow charts are brilliant approach! Worth every penny.

I'm not even close to being fully proficient with it, but getting there fast and having a ton of fun while at it (due to the the absolutely amazing in-context documentation, as well as my programming experience). Such an awesome approach to doing it on touch devices, and beauty is in simplicity. Flowcharts! I've done some coding on my phone on remote servers in vim over ssh, and that's just a little counterproductive... We need Automate+like UDEs for python for example, for visual editing, and for code editing with a click of a switch. Thank you for such great work.
