Spot Assist Skydiving Tool for Android
I use it all the time
Nice app. Use it at home before going to the airport. Gives good info on weather, winds and the spot at that time.
The new cutaway finder almost makes me want to chop one to see how it works. Almost.
Brilliant
Best skydiving app out there. Worth every cent for all add-ons.
Great app, worth it for the landing pattern tool alone.
A visual representation of the winds for you.
Crashes on opening, doesn't work on Galaxy s7
Don't like I having to buy the app little by little but over all it's great. Helped me find my cutaway and everything
With the addition of winds aloft report for the selected airport/drop zone this ap has improved greatly. Developer is willing and eager to take suggestions too! A big plus. Latest updates are great. I like the ability to switch weather stations. This app has really grown since it started. My latest discovery: If your DZ isn't on the app that doesn't mean it can't be! Add it yourself! I really do like the continued development of this product. I also saw that they will have a WEB based version for the DZ. Great idea. Great tool.
An excellent source of data to use with any and all other data available to make as safe a skydive as possible.
So helpful in being safe and projection of your pattern.
Not bad for instructors either :)
A great tool!
Well detailed lots of options
This is so worth the money. Hit the mark every time.
Love the app!
Great!
Very responsive to questions and the app is extremely useful!
Love it. Easy to use and works pretty well.
Especially like the canopy approach glide path depiction. What I think would be a fabulous extension would be to be able to stretch a line and have the app tell you the distance along the line. Bearing of the line would be a serendipity.
Gives student skydivers a better idea about how landing patterns change with current wind conditions, allowing Google maps satellite-view to help set up targets for each leg of the landing pattern. (At least that's how I use it.) Plus there's a cool weather feature with winds aloft and cloud ceilings.
I want to pay for this app for the Patterns and Spots functions, but cannot justify doing so without being able to try it out first. You or I would never buy a new vehicle without FIRST taking a test drive to see if it meets your needs and makes you feel comfortable and "Safe"; why would this be any different? I can only give an anticipatory 3 stars since it shows "promise" but must restrain my rating as I cannot verify its usability or claimed capabilities, or the accuracy of the same. Safety First! Please consider putting in a timed trial period where it is open on all features. Feel free to make it obvious that the paid features will need to be purchased by such-and-such date/time during the trial, but allow the features to be usable so we can touch and feel what we are buying. (Most apps have some form of this function and the model is well proven) Doing this will expand your Paid User Base astronomically in a very short period of time because exposure to its potential is seen immediately. I will update my star rating if and when I see these changes.
Amazing info all in one package. Only problem is that the opening altitude seens to have become locked to 1000 feet limiting the usefulness of picking spots in the current version. Otherwise a must have app for planning a jump run.
Great app, to make it better I'd add a history feature. To be able to see history from previous years at the same time. Also highly suggested to add an algorithm like from ryan carltons balloon pilot winds aloft. Helping predict better winds from 0-3k.
This is perfect for those first jumps at new locations or even at your usual place when the winds arent at their usual speed. Plus the upper winds info is a must for seperation of groups, which every skydiver should know before they board their plane. What could be improved is remembering your landing direction and altitude turns. Every time I have to change my base and final turns to 500 and 250 instead of the 600 and 300
Has agreed with the old school spots at the dz by the pilots, and the instructors for the last 2 weekends.
Probably the best app, i have downloaded. And had saved me from a few close calls. Few weeks before i got the app, i opened low by accident (a little under 2000ft.) Had no idea were i was and landed in a corn field. With better altitude awarness, it's easy to find the pattern, and land corn free!
Very helpful. Good job guys. Geoff Park, D-18112
I think most skydivers would love separate settings for speed (mph, knots, km/h, m/s), altitude (feet, meters), temperature (F, C, K) and even time (12 hs, 24 hs). Not hard to implement and would double the utility of Spot Assist. I suppose you can implement in a matter of hours of programming & deploy. Please let me know when you look for help brazilian localization for this amazing app!
Really convince four skydiver.
Nice app for new DZ.
Awesome app. Blue skies
Very good app, helps a lot.
Now remembers location, could do with a choose canopy brand and wingloading as I can't find flight ratio and speed data for a storm 170. Just bought plug in for the weather, a plug in for radar 24 and it would be perfect
Solid app, support adds dropzones as needed if they aren't there already
Great app for new jumpers. One issue, after last update, my home dz doesn't update winds aloft any more. Otherwise would be 5.
This is one of my favorite apps. I was/am the dork at the DZ that does the calculations before I get there by hand. This saves a lot of time for me. This app has been very close to actual conditions every time I have used it.
Only thing I can think to add would be a "last updated" line to the winds aloft section.
