I have regularly used it to correct texts when on the go. And it works great! Only problem: forward referencing (e.g. referring to an item in the references) produces only "??". I resolve that problem by running the pdf generation twice, so that the latex files are all there.... Crashed after an update and looks now ok.

B70%
by B####:

It works nicely but so far I cannot figure out how to generate a .bib file from within the app. After moving a .bib file to my storage, I realized I cannot open them within the app. This is kinda annoying since of course I want to add some references now and then :-( Apart from that, nice app.

Nothing else like it is available on the android market right now. A very basic but solid execution of a LaTeX writing environment. Downloads packages on the fly and has dropbox support. The editor functionality itself is limited, however it is clear that the author has put a lot of effort into other areas like making sure it remains fast and power efficient (as well as the downloading of packages on the fly which is pretty great). I understand lack of editor indenting and such since lines usually wrap on tiny screens. I would like the developer to add more text highlighting and the ability to change font size, as well as the ability to toggle line numbers.

Y70%

It needs to improve the editor with text managing functionality.

Works out of the box with complex documents including half-obscure packages. Rebought with second google account just to have this on every device. Complete editing and compiling of latex-docs possible in every folder. And even a nice, clean look.

Everything else seems to work fine, but when I try to integrate the app to dropbox it crashes.. Pls. fix this issue.

Bought this one and cannot use it. Color coding is hit and miss, package handling does not follow recursive folder protocol, and log file is cryptic and hard to follow. Sometimes it is not generated at all. What makes this useless is the blatant incompatibility with standard LaTeX commands, specifically the font command line for setting true type fonts. It also, apparently, does not recognize the pagestyle command. What else?

M70%
by M####:

Decent ui but compile button broken. That is the only button that really matters.

I can not get this to work on my LG G Pad...have emailed the developer for support but no response at all...

Dropbox integration it's not working.

Best local latex typesetter. The only other good one is LaTeX Editor, which is free but has some issues loading fonts. Try that first to save $$$. It has a better interface too. This app is overpriced.

A70%
by A####:

No matter what I do, there is no Dropbox integration on my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro, which is strange, because I have managed to get Dropbox integration to work using the iOS version of this program.

*What's good: - Lightweight, simple interface, and downloads packages on the fly. *What can be improved: -It's not clear if there is an autosave feature? -Syntax highlighting: Not universal, i.e. tabular commands like hline do not show up. -Compile error: Output is full log - would be good to have the option to filter errors only, so that you don't have to scroll through the whole log to find what didn't work. -Autocompletion: begin{x} could auto-complete end{x} -Autocompletion: Opening braces could be matched with closing braces *What's Missing: - Help file. There is no help available. Also, there could be an in-app viewer for the latex wiki-book to look up commands, or other look up mechanism?

The program does not work on an android lollipop when the initialization process with Dropbox starts!!! And actually in previous version you could only choose one folder of Dropbox. I am not going my structure of folders just to make it compatible with the app. Update also your UI.

The tex file editor lacks a scrollbar and inertial scrolling; on top of that, the font size is too big for me, and I can't change that. Therefore, it's impossible for me to edit long documents. It would be better to have an undo, and a dark theme would be easier on the eyes. I have no idea how the Dropbox integration works, it constantly rewrite my file with an old version of the file.

I was used a free latex offline compiler/editor, but it didn`t compile bibs :/ -- Great app, but it needs a optimized tablet interface ;) -- Tex compiler is ok, now is time to work on interface and add some functions like find & replace, files tabs, text highlight...

I would have loved a Windows version, even if paid for separately, that just works like this Android version without installing MikTex or any other dependency. Great job!

Works very well on what I've tried so far. Dropbox integration is awesome. My beamer presentations compile without issue. Worth the money to me.

It works amazingly good. The best offline latex editor to date. My tablet becomes more productive now. The technical support quickly responded to my concerns. Keep up the good work!! By the way, future updates could include the following features if possible: An side-by-side PDF previewer would be awesome. A quick workaround would be the following: Latest tablets like Samsung Note allow to use multi-windows to be opened concurrently. If Tex Writer also allows this feature, I can open Tex Writer on one side and my favorite PDF viewer on the other side and preview my document by refreshing PDF viewer. At present, I had to toggle between applications Tex Writer and PDF.

Could use more features, but it compiles my files, so I can't fault the app description.

N70%

my dreams come true. Where is the undo function?

D70%
by D####:

App has little to no instruction, Very few tools, No explanation on how to start a new file, Best to stick to a desktop version until someone comes up with a decent tex editor that actually has tools to let you save your tex file to a place likke drop box and actually have a tool bar. Best to move on to another app as I am uninstalling
