On the plus side there are not many android applications doing the job, the application works even on old android platforms, and the application is free. But.... There is no information concerning which model is used to calculate the values. The models are updated every 5 years. This application is dated 2014, therefore the model is probably the model of years 2010-2015. It is now necessary to use the 2015-2020 model. Nowhere in the application is the option to update the model available. The application only gives the data for the position given by the GPS. It is therefore not possible to calculate the values for an other position. The application has adds. The size of the application is too large for a simple data calculator. The unnecessary rotating earth is just a cosmetic distraction that adds only a frustrating reduction of the readability of the data.

Seems to compute mag params reasonably well but only for current location using GPS. Info on About page is unreadable because of background image and text colour. Rotating globe seems to serve no purpose other than "eye candy".

Very nice. I want to use it to help forecast auroral displays where I live. I live north of lattitude 64°; having real time information for my location will be useful. It would be nice to have the ability to record the readings and use that data to graph the geomagnetic field strength ove time. One minor improvement... The readings are + (positive) or - (negative), but when the readings are positive, there is no plus sign displayed.

GPS keeps running after leaving app. Must kill app with task manager to stop GPS. Can't read about screen. Nexus1 2.2.1

Simply magnificent!

Wish it could show you a 3d view of the earths magnetic field.

I liked it because it told me what elevation I was at
