Linux Academy for Android
I like the app and it works great on 2 of 3 devices I have. The recent update to the app has made it stop sowking on my Huawei M3 MediaPad. It's unfortunate since it is the tablet I have started using for the most part. The M3 tablet is currently running Android 6.0. The two other devices where it runs properly are both running Android 7.0.
Since the new Android update.. I can not login from my phone in app... Same credentials work on websit
Working great so far. I'll be able to listen while at work on in the car.
New UI is awesome! LA is the best training source around
Low, buggy, terrible.
Just a couple of suggestions: 1- Enable video resolution option to choose manually the desired resolution. Automatic mode isn't flexible enough for Latin American slow 4G service providers. 2 - Please support the new aspect radio 18:9 (LG G6 & Samsung S8). I would love to take advantage of my cell phone large screen. Thanks, keep up the great work!
Using Pixel XL I am unable to login with app even though I can login via website.
Good app, last updates made it better. The only thing bugging me is the volume, when I'm in the subway or in a noisy environment the sound isn't loud enough, although I max the volume and wear in ear headphones I barely hear the instructor. That's bad for me because I commute a lot and want to spend that time on your platform.
Reported login app bug to Linux Academy . Update was processed promptly to fix the issue!
Recent update has made this app slower and less reliable for viewing content.
Thank you
Hi Team, App is too good now. But why not adding 1.25x speed control. It's very useful for us.
The best update so far! Honestly this was what you guys were missing, now I can enjoy even more the classes on the way.
Great redesign but I'd like to request the 1.25 speed to be included!
Finally speed control on the phone. Thank you!
It crashes more often than the previous version
Great rebuild!
Very good app from a very good training site. It would be great to have the note cards and the community access but what the heck, you cant have it all! I can log in with no problems, it stays logged, keeps progress tracked, I use the app when I am not in front of my laptop, otherwise let s be honest, most of the training and videos need a desktop app. Thanks.
It would be nice if you could use the note cards on this application Edit: Thank you for the reply, how soon is near future?
Poor app. Unable to download videos.
Doesn't sync with the Web Otherwise it's solid for me but that's not a minor issue.
Would be nice if it actually let you log into it.
Can't play the video properly
Good
Never tried older version but my experience with this one is very poor. Downloading any video above say 6 mins gives internet connecton error, also when I try to play a small i.e. 3 min video I have successfuly downloaded it says it cannot find it, aaahhhhhh
There's still a lot to be done but no matter what, I live Linux Academy! And my first priority for the app is TV casting support, please!!
The app has improved a lot lately. Give it a try.
Please add Chromecast support. This app is a better format than the web page, but I really need to cast a video while I have a shell up on my phone or laptop.
Great app that gets better with each release
*update2* application overrides screen orientation settings as well as initiates another data stream upon connection chamges. Dont have the time currently do not have time to test exploitation. Cannot login with verified correct credentials any more. Will update as soon as my issue is responded to with sup1port staff. *update, debugging I noticed that when I restored my backup on my replacement phone it didn't flush stored info. Flushed the data, and I can log in now. Only didn't give 5 stars due to the lack of auto playback. You still have to manually check off to play next.
I really like using Linux Academy but this mobile application is a poor representation of the services provided. From what I can tell there isn't any way to access the course note cards which would be well suited for a mobile device. Also you can't take notes on video's or manage your lab servers. These are great features that have been completely discarded in this mobile app.
Works as a complimentary application for a Linux Academy website. Player definitely needs speed control and picture zooming! App sometimes stops playing saved videos. No option to delete saved videos. Does not play next lecture automatically after current lecture finished. Does not react on bluetooth headset start/stop buttons. Does not remember last played position within lecture. List of lectures does not show length of the video. When player opens saved video it loads it whole which may take 15 seconds.
App is Crap! Videos are difficult to download and watch, simply doesn't work. Why release this without testing? If like me you paid a subscription, you will be very disappointed with the App and not being able to watch videos online/offline.
You have to manually press a tiny button to mark each video as complete. Progress can only be updated when you are online. You can watch videos offline, but progress is lost and its difficult to work out which video to watch next as the app doesn't show sections and it doesn't show what's complete unless you were online while you watched it. Sessions don't last long enough, I have to sign in again with email and password far too often which is irritating :( ... As for Linux Academy itself, videos are too short and the presenters speak very slowly.
The app crashes when I try to reduce the speed back to 1x. Reporting the problem seems to be going in a black hole. Very poor showing for a paid service.
The app is very unstable. Difficult to change play back speeds, tick a course as completed and many other such problems.
Please fix complate button, having hard time to make lesson complete, i keep pushing the complete button and no response, sometimes response after i try 5 to 10 time, other ways i have to back to lessons and open the lesson again and keep trying to make it complete, also when i click back, its take me to the top of the lessons and i have to scroll down again to find the lesson I stopped at. Thank you
Awesome App for learning Openstack, AWS, Linux, azure.. really helped to start with. Good videos thanks for the presentation.
It's difficult to Navigate, play offline videos.App is not flexible to use. Lot of updation must do.
