KXAN - Austin News & Weather

I like this app because it keeps me up to date with all of the breaking news across the Austin area including counties off to the east. Great Weather forecasting, good sports coverage. App doesn't crash when you play a video.

Very unstable. Articles will only partially open or open and then crash the app. This is why I deleted it years ago. Was hoping it was improved, it isn't

The new changes to the app make it difficult to review the story list at a glance, and requires several clicks and screen slides to wade through the stories... As such, I'm likely to reduce my usage of KXAN in favor of other local stations... Unfortunate as they were my primary local source.

BRING BACK THE PREVIOUS VERSION!!! This version is from a different company and is nowhere near the quality of what KXAN had before. You can't even read the news alerts because it only shows a few words. Then you select the alert and it's blank in the app with only a title.

The app is hoorible to navigate and giv s very poor weather info to reader. Story's are not layed out right

I'm disappointed in that the stories posted on your website seem to only be a preview, as after clicking on several of them, I either just get a black screen or it fails to load! I have made sure that I have the latest version, & I do. Maybe another update is due to fix this bug? I'll have to go to the other local news to see these stories.

I have not been able to open since update. It sucks. I will just be happy with weather app

What is the point of a breaking news notification if 3/4 of the notification is a picture, other than click bait.

Don't like the layout anymore...difficult to see and scan

I hate it when im reading astory the news cuts off.so i never know the rest of the story i have to waite till the news at 5:00 pm. That sucks

Removed again. They responded to my comments as you can see. Ads still way to invasive. To many places to get the news without putting up with that ANNOYANCE. Fox does not do this.

it constantly kicks me out and app closes

In the last month, it's stopped working and saying "content is unavailable" no matter what time of day or week. Had to uninstall it after 2yrs.

After receiving an email that the app had been upgraded (read: usable), I reinstalled it. Looks OK so far. The blaring ad is no more; brings it up to one (1) star. A much better notification option array; add another star. The cleaner layout and related news links; rates three (3) stars. It's at the bottom of my folder of news apps, and I'll see if it warrants more usage and a higher rating.

Yes, the buffington ad, blaring out without giving you the option to toggle the sound, is horrible. What I don't like is, I receive alerts, and, when I try to view the alert, all I get is the list of times that streaming video is available. Oh, guess what? There is no streaming live. There are two losers here: KXAN, for a sloppily designed news app, and Buffington Homes, for forcing a blaring ad down my throat. Now, when I hear those two words, I cringe.

Why cant we see the news live anymore i put it on every morning just to be able to hear the news while i'm driving please bring it back if not i dont need the app :(

That stupid Huffington add comes on and blasts with sound. Awful if I am somewhere trying to be quiet. Uninstalling.

Tried the app one more time to see if the notification issue was fixed. Now the Buffington add has sound. Really????. Uninstalling again.

Buffington homes ad continuously pops up and will not let you look at the news. Kind of defeats the purpose of having a news application

Cannot read any articles because the ads will not close.

I can't stand the constant news updates/notifications, even when I have Notifications turned off.

Love your broadcast and am a loyal viewer....I'd rather purchase an app than deal with an annoying self starting ad. Uninstalling and installing KVUE for on the go news.

Would be better rated if you can fix the close on selecting the ellipses for more types than what is displayed.

Settings do not include opting out of push notifications. Select More and it crashes. Otherwise, ok.

Force closes when selecting 'More' and gray screen when going to Home screen. Horrible. Fix it!!

Push notifications and not being able to change those... Fix this and I'll come back. Until then off to keye and kvue

Good app, but with out the screen rotation for tablets.

Needless alerts and that horrible ad everytime you open the app. No wonder in a city of 500000 people it had only been downloaded 10 thousand times. Fire your developer!

Wish you would eliminate that advertisement as soon as you click on. Kinda irritating to have this advertisement forced on you without even clicking on it.

The latest version broke. Reinstalling in hopes of a fix. Still not working after reinstall. Same problem on my Samsung Galaxy S5 and my Tab3 tablet. Won't load the news page.
