BAROCKSTADT LUDWIGSBURG

Ludwigsburg entstand zu Anfang des 18. Jahrhunderts durch den Bau des Residenzschlosses durch Herzog Eberhard Ludwig von Württemberg. Der im Barockstil entworfene Komplex prägt bis heute das Stadtbild, und ihm verdankt die Stadt den Beinamen Barockstadt. Die Anlage stellt heute das größte erhaltene Barockschloss in Deutschland dar.

Die im Vergleich zu anderen Städten mäßigen Zerstörungen im zweiten Weltkrieg sorgten dafür, dass neben dem Schloss zahlreiche andere historische Gebäude erhalten blieben. So bietet ein Gang durch die Innenstadt spannende Einblicke in die Geschichte der ehemaligen Hauptstadt Württembergs.

Baroque city of Ludwigsburg

Ludwigsburg originated in the early 18th Century by the construction of the residential palace of Duke Eberhard Ludwig von Württemberg. The complex, designed in the Baroque style still dominates the cityscape, and it gave the city the nickname Baroque city. The plant is now the largest Baroque castle in Germany dar.

The moderate compared to other cities destroyed in World War II made sure that next to the castle a number of historic buildings have been preserved. So offers a walk through the downtown fascinating insights into the history of the former capital of Württemberg.
