SongBook for Android
Simple app does what it's supposed to do perfectly, I like it.
Best cross platform app
Great app
Been using this app for a while as it's been the only android alternative to Onsong. Love the app and it's been such a useful tool for so long. That said I'm not a big fan of the redesign. I like the icon, but not the colours in the app. The implementation of PDFs could use a little work also as double tap to scroll is often hard for me to do whilst trying to play guitar. I still love the app but for 5 stars I'd like to see the PDF implementation improved a little. Some customisation would be cool (such as ability to change font face). I'm sure I'll get used to the colour, but maybe the option for themes so the user can choose an alternative like perhaps a 'night' theme.
I use this app every week. It's perfect for what I need. I wish the app had more control over certain appearance items, but those issues are minor to me. Printing PDFs is limited to the original chord pro key, I wish it would print the transposed version. Having said that the PDF looks nice when printed. Thanks LinkeSOFT for continuing to improve the app!
Several years later this tool has replaced the need for hand written notes during my band sessions. The pdf export is a great idea as often sharing edited songs is a pain.
Good App! Would really love to see a way to sync between my phone and my laptop directly without using a third-party
I use this app for playing out and at church. It's truly amazing
Edit....now 5***** as latest version has one button press for both auto scroll and linked music. Used weekly in a vocal duo . Find this app useful for both lyrics and backing track. Would be a five star if there was just one button to start auto scroll and linked music. As of now it is a two press sequence to play a song. In the heat of the moment, one sometimes forgets to start auto scroll.
A very nice and feature rich app, I'm glad i got it, yet there is still room for improvements. PRINTING CHORD DIAGRAMS in to PDF in Android version currently is not supported. Please add this feature! 5 stars would be the rating. For now, sorry, just 3 stars. Update: I understand there might be Android limitations, but using Windows or Mac OS is not for me, I use Linux. Any plans to create a Linux version?
Like the app, just learning how to use it. Unable to save songs to my sd card, app won't let me change it under settings, any IDEAS?
There is some trial and error in the learning curve. I still don't know what all of the functions are and can't find a help file to read to understand them.
We maintain a central Dropbox account for all our songs. SongBook let's us keep our chord files synchronized between all our band members. We can use it on our tablets during a gig and work on our PC when organising at home. Great software!
As a church pianist and piano tutor I find this tool very helpful. It is the Droid song book app I recommend!! Connects to Dropbox and syncs with your devices. Worth your 8 bucks!
Well, I don't think there's anything else that does what this does, so there's no choice. I'd like to be able to colour the text so you can highlight different parts.....
I have moved to this from Onsong on iOS. This is cross platform and easier to use. Dropbox synchronisation is great. It could be improved by adding some simple features but is great as it is.
My old text files work perfectly. A little time, and a little patience, and I'm up and running.
Great app! Does all I need easily. Great for sharing songs with a group/ band via Dropbox.
Havn't giggled with it yet but loving the different folders and easy to download system....
It is pretty easy to do whatever you want
Its nice
This app is so hard to use it's not friendly I worked on this app for 30 +hours and can't get it to do what I want (load songs in a song bank then put them in a song list simple right WRONG .Then my song bank vanished couldn't find them I gave up so save your $$$ . I bought this app cause it has a lot of nice features real nice but can't get it to work. BUMMER
If you use this app along with GuitarTapp Pro you'll be able to put all the songs you'll ever want into SongBook. Simply find the song you want in GuitarTapp Pro, convert it to ChordPro format, in the edit mode copy the complete song, then paste it into SongBook in the new song option. It's simple, fast and efficient. I've got nearly 900 songs now. The ChromeCast feature is awesome too. On stage I cast from my tablet to my 32" flat screen TV sitting on a music stand. My lyrics and chords are right there.
Love ALL of the mobile apps... The desktop app crashes some on Win7 Pro but it is usable but irritating. Full disclosure: I haven't contacted tech support to resolve it yet.
Great app! Some glitches with search and import but I have a work around. I love being able to put my own songs in the app.
Cant figure out how to load songs. Sorry I purchased. Not an intuitive program. I like guitar chord pro better. Just wish I Could add my own songs to it.
My band mate uses the paid iPad app that's similar to this. I like that I can enter songs, make play lists, and transpose on the fly. I like being able to share the charts via email. Does just what I need. Thanks!
How the heck do I find, view available songs to paly/sing? all I have after paying & downloading the app is bloody 'Greensleeves'....ripped off!!
Can't download cord charts from ultimate guitar. Refund please?
Just perfect! An excellent tool for musicians!
I've found this to be a really useful programme to ease me into digital display and storage of songs.
i was looking for something like this for a long time. very helpful indeed.
Just so handy for learning lyrics or for when for gigs
Love it.
Great app
Quick question from "Miss Computer-Illiterate"... can I use a version of Songbook on my Windows PC & have it connected somehow to my tablet. This way I can type all songs etc using the PC & they'll show up in the app on my tablet?? Please excuse my lack of computer know-how! Any advise would be valuable. Thanks!
I am the worship leader at my church and I just started using this app. I love it! So far, I notice very little difference between Songbook and Onsong (apple only). So if you are an Android user and are looking for a songbook app 100% comparable to Onsong, this is the app for you.
Easy to use - love the sync - use it on my tablet and phone - made a Bluetooth page Turner works great - love the capo feature - love being able to email new songs - got some of my band on this app - love the new music linked to auto scroll feature
Used for several gigs. Works well. The Dropbox sync is much higher appreciated as well as the windows version. It needs Notes ability like Open Songbook. Just a quick post it note function would be 5 stars

We did a lot of research before settling on Songbook. Used On Song previously and needed something more Android friendly. Biggest selling point for us was the ease with which we can download songs from the internet and automatically have them converted to Chordpro format. (For newbies like I was when I started this search for an answer to binders full of charts, often in disarray, Chordpro is a special format that allows programs and apps to easily manipulate songs, transposing with a click being one major perk. ) Songs may need some minimal tweeking, once downloaded, but the heavy lifting is done by the app. It also seems out songs on the internet for you that are Chordpro friendly. Enjoying coming into the modern era of music, (albeit a little late), with an app that's easy to use.
