News in Slow Spanish Latino for Android
I am a subscriber, and I like the concept and execution. However, in the app version, the colored text can't be clicked for an instant pop-up of the translation. I think the instant translations of the colored words and phrases is half the program and is really needed in the app version. The mobile version of the website allows text translation popups, but the player controls don't stay locked to top of the screen. You have to scroll up to pause, rewind, etc. the audio.
I suppose this app could be useful for listening to Spanish but as far as news goes it is not very good. Too much opinion, editorial commentary and opinionated selection of topics. If you want real news in Spanish listen to a real radio station in Spanish
I love the hosts, the content, everything, but for $13 a month you really ought to include more supplementary content. Just too expensive for audio and a few short transcripts.
Good app but content is poor right wing propaganda...
The basic plan provides very little and there is no trial period. The casts stop when finished so you can't just let it stream if your away from your device listening via Bluetooth speakers/headphones.
Every time the tablet switches from landscape to portrait, the player dies. Thus almost entirely unusable. If this bug is fixed, I'll likely subscribe.
Kudos! As the TESOL Professor at Broward College (65,000) students, we're ready for Slow News in English now. : - D I listen to both Slow French and Slow Latin Spanish!! OUI! Trois! Congratulations, (One thousand downloads today 2015 March 1) the U.S public school system and adult education system will be rocked (see Disrupting School) Clay Christensen and Michael Horn. This is truly a disruptive innovation! Thank you! You are soooo considerate of the learner! ¡Una obra fantastica! If only there was more free content
I am a paid subscriber. I love the content but was disappointed about the claim of flashcards. All they give you is a CSV table. I'd much rather there be built-in flashcard funcionality. It's easy enough to import into quizlet, but it shouldn't be advertised as "flashcards." Maybe label it vocabulary or something until you add real flashcards.
As a paid subscriber to their podcasts, I like downloading from the app so I don't use streaming data when away from wifi, also good when no reception like in subway.
Staff responded to my inquiries rapidly and am very pleased with this app. Just what i was looking for!
Says absolutely nowhere in this description that this is a paid service. The app is free. You can't do or download anything without paying a subscription fee! Total waste of time to download. Uninstalled.
If you are a 'free' ap for a paid subscription service, you are not free and should not put yourself in the free ap section.
Tiny amount of free content is useless, waste of time.
Don't get me wrong: the content is really great. But the app itself could use some work. My two major gripes: too little vertical space for the text in landscape mode (a lot of space wasted), and the text doesn’t follow the audio (I want it to scroll automatically, and perhaps highlight the current sentence). Thanks!
In May 2015 I mentioned that I had downloaded all the episodes in the past so I have them offline. I now can report in July 2015 that AGAIN after downloading them all again one by one, today they are all gone again. No system updates. I do not recommend downloading caches in this app as a method of having them offline. Major pain! Lots of lost time! I am now fedup with this app. I will use website only until I know this glitch has been fixed. What a waste of my time!!!

This application is OUTSTANDING!!! It really delivers the goods! For the intermediate and advanced Spanish student, this application (in my view) is the BEST ON THE INTERNET. Lewis Naylor Northern Virginia
In the old app, when it looked different, there was no problem playing a lesson start to finish in the car radio, via Bluetooth. But the new app gets stuck at the end of each section in the lesson. The only solution is to close the app and open it again and play the lesson. I can't do that while driving. Please fix!
App keep getting better since intro. Content excellent.
Weekly news, grammar and idioms. Audio and print. For me absolutely the most helpful learn Spanish app program or course I've found. Not for a complete beginner but if you have some Spanish and want to have some fun getting more, try this. I got the one month silver deal. When its up I'm upgrading to an annual subscription.
Great for language learners. Slow enough for the non fluent, but fast enough that it still sounds natural. As a bonus, the weekly stories are current, well produced, and narrated by charming hosts. The app works almost as well as the web site. Muy bueno! Elroy Flynn.

The content is excellent but the app often hangs up and quits working. There's still lots of bugs in the app.
