News in Slow Spanish

The cost is worth it. You can basically chose the level of service you need or can afford. The shows are very well done and besides learning Spanish, you get lots of news you probably wouldn't hear in English-speaking media.

I just wish it were daily. A tremendous help for learning Spanish.

Downloading the app is free but no use if you don't pay crazy money for the subscription.

Need an app update on Android. The highlighted texts do not show the English translations. Please fix.

Love this - really good software - I use the website on computer too and print off the transcripts - don't actually need the app but makes it quicker to access on phone I suppose - I tend to go on internet even on my phone - so much more than free language apps that are a bit trite and superficial - for bronze it works out £6 a month which is a cost but my progress is fast on this - a fraction of the cost of evening classes (which I couldn't afford).

What do you provide to justify such ridiculous costs? It is unthinkable I would pay anywhere near the amount they're asking, making this app an abject waste of time.

App has become extremely pathetic after last update in Feb, it used to work well earlier. 1) App crashes in every 5 min 2) Download lessons don't stay in cache at times 3) Cached episodes don't have the play button many times 4) "player is loading, please wait ..." is the message I've been getting for past 2 days, not able to launch new episodes Feeling cheated as a paid customer. How do I apply for the refund?

Excellent resource for learning Spanish.

Except that it keeps playing only the free content, even though I have paid my subscription! I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling, but it makes no difference. However, sometimes it works OK, and then it is great!

Nothing is free. I get the first 3 words then it just plays music. Absolutely rubbish.

All I get is that same stupid error message. I heard good things about the app. Unfortunately I never got to try it.

Does exactly what it says on the tin

This is a very disappointing app. It pretends to offer a free level of content, but in fact the free app just reads a headline for each issue then says the rest is behind the paywall. I can understand if they want to just have a paid app, but pretending to be a free app in order to get a bunch of downloads is cynical and suggests that the overall quality of the product is poor.

Once installed they tell you to pay for subscription.

If you sign up for Spanish Latin, this is not the app. Your subscription will not be seen and no guidance to why. Download the same app but with Latin at the end.

I love News in Slow Spanish but this app is flaky. It usually plays the music before the end of the segment so you don't get the whole segment. I will often download a new episode but the app will indicate it hasn't been downloaded. And finally there is no speed control like on the web or on the iPhone version.

I downloaded the app, but when I went to use it I had to create an account. I had to choose from several pay-only options - none of them cheap. The app description was really false advertising. Not "free" in any sense of the word. If it is somehow free, it's certainly not evident through the signup process.

Good app, although, it would be much more helpful if it had a fast option when all the vocabulary has been learnt.

Still great app but hover over translation no longer works on tablet v4.2.2. Although OK on same version on android phone.

Just took a long flight and decided to try out the new NSS app. I use an Android based phone, HTC. The app worked great. I am a real supporter of computer based NSS. A news junkie and Spanish student, this is perfect for me. The improved app just augments the experience. Congrats! Thanks!

Great app!

The app was hopeless before this update. previously it would only have the introductory text. It now works fine and is much easier to read against a grey background rather than the orange. It is disappointing to not be able to access the grammar stuff too though. It is a fantastic resource though,nothing else like it.

On a phone the episodes download and play as expected. On my android tablet it downloads the episodes but wont play.

App doesn't recognize my account because the login in the Spanish app is for newsinslowfrench, not Spanish. I'm unable to do anything with the app. I've used the website on my home computer and out looks good.
