Dictionary Linguee

the best dictionary I ever used, always with samples of a huge spectrum from real daily life (gastronomy for example) to science due to the metacrawler engine in it. Would even pay a good price for it. Far better results than google translate (as I am concerned, -Port-Germ- ) the latter often not translating the simplest things correctly.

This app seems a little slow when searching it's not nearly as fast as I would like also offline does not have speech pronunciation which is the main feature I want

Offline French - English doesn't work, says not enough space. Can install and remove all other Offline dictionary no problem, just never F-E.

I really enjoy using this app, and it is hands down the best translation app I have ever used. However no matter what I do i cannot download dictionaries for offline use.

Fantastic dictionary tool. And free. Only problem, the optional pop up copy translations are temperamental. Otherwise, brilliant. Thanks

Excellent app. Best things are the translations in context from the web and the ability to download it and also ability to highlight words in any app and then pressing share brings up translation in Linguee.

Unable to download offline packages and always downloading "language support icu" file each time I failed downloading the packages.

One problem. I cannot download offline dictionary for english german. Can anybody help me ?

Good, but... There's on feature I would love to see with this app: vocabulary lists. If I were able to save vocabulary lists and then load them to flash cards, I would give this app a full five stars. Can we get this feature please, Linguee? : )

Even though it's necessary to know the languages to be able to select accurate translations, Linguee is an excellent tool for quick terminology search that allows the user to quickly view segments of the terms used in different websites.

Solid app. I like having the contextual search snippets on hand. Faster than going to the website. Looks nice too

This app has really helped me. It's great that it gives you a variety of words and their meanings, or what the significances are for a specific word in relation to what you need it, or can use it for. I will carry on using this awesome app for sure!

If this isn't the absolute best dict app, then it must be darned close. Brilliant

Nice user interface and easy to use. Please add a feature that shows the verb conjungtions in French and other languages. Also if you can add the definition in the same language, for e.g. En-En, it would be even more wonderful.

The app is very good almost the best the only problem is that it doesn't have the pronunciation or the simbol to know how pronounce the world in the right way if they resolve this problem I put 5 stars

It's a great app for language professionals, such as translators and interpreters. The biggest advantage is its contextual search, which makes finding and judging the right term much easier. The greatest dictionary there is up to date.

Its a very helpful app. but it would be even better if it deal with the Arabic languge in order to translate into it. Thats why I gave the rate 4/5 and looking forward to rate it again soon with the 5 ;) ;)

My favourite language app! I Was recommended this app by our French exchange assistant and it is the best out there. So easy to use and full of contextual examples which are perfect for consolidating your understanding of new vocab

The Spanish-English offline data, for example, is over 200M, which means it's big enough to provide very complete definitions, as well as lots of example phrases illustrating common usage. When online, example sentences from academic and governmental sources can be a bit overwhelming, but will be there when students are ready for a challenge.

one of the best online dictionary. It also provides to search offline. The main reason why this is the best dictionary in my opinion, is simply because of the fact, that it supplies only a few but important meanings, what makes it easier to keep the words in mind. Additionally you can also look for less common translations. Absolutely amazing!

Maybe the content is good I haven't had time to see but the most annoying thing is a horribly low contrast and small fonts. Need a way to have different font size options and color schemes. Unreadable for me.

I've worked as an interpreter and translator in both directions and am absolutely amazed by this app. Loads of words, states which translations are common and less common and it gives quotes from real translations from the web for the different possible translations. I recently purchased a Langenscheid English - German dictionary app for 60£ or so and I was really happy with my purchase... ...now I regret it.

The new feature to display a translation in another app usually doesn't work. Also this feature does introduce a system service running 24/7 consuming cpu and thus battery. I don't want another background service! It would be nicer to have this feature to opt-in instead of the default opt-out setting.

I love how it lets you hear how to pronounce the words. But I hate how this application does not allow bookmarking of words. Would be great to bookmark those French or English words and see them later on. I'm glad it has examples of how to use the word in a sentence and those sentences are numbered to more than a few. I'm also happy about how these dentences are from the news and what not. The biggest let down is how I can not bookmark anywords and the history list of searched words doesn't include every word. It only contains up to around 10 words.

I have other APPs using the clipboard shortcut, and it can't pop out the translation window when I copy some word. I have tried to close all other APPs that using clipboard, and it works OK.

This app is good. I think is better than "Google Translate" because when use Google Translate, you create bad habits like translate complete phrases and is bad for you. But here in this app is good. You create good habits and it have good and certain information. I give you 5 stars! (I'm improving my English thanks to this app, THANKS.)

I love Linguee because unlike most if not all other dictionaries, it sources real, existing translations of entire sentences or passages so you can see how more complex phrases have been translated by others in the past. Add in the fully functional offline dictionary for when you don't have internet connection (e.g. in rural areas) and this is a six star dictionary

I have several French-English dictionaries installed in my mobile. But after I discovered and installed this one, it has been my go-to place because it shows lots of example sentences and makes it easy to quickly get to the most likely meanings. I also love the feature that when using a different app I can copy a word and it displays the essential meanings in a small window. (This feature doesn't work with all apps.) My only gripe is that the font used is too light. The lack of contrast along with the small size makes the text a little difficult to read. Hope it gets some attention from the app-makers.

Great app with a large dictionary. Can be used to directly translate words in newspapers etc. using the copy function with appropriate settings. Only pity is that that I cannot swipe words on my keyboard but must enter key by key.

Easy to use with great examples and very accurate translations. The only thing it could improve on is showing different conjugations of Spanish words although most don't offer this feature.

My favorite translation app for English/French/German. Only problem is it ocationally deletes the downloaded dictionary.

When it comes to really get the true meaning of whats written this app delivers.English is a rapidly evolving language as it is complicated, with lots of possible translations and choices. ..this app is truly helpful try it and see for yourself how is easy to use and a valuable tool..it will certainly improve your knowledge for good!

Does anyone know if there is a conjagator for French verbs, the only thing that would make this app 100% for me. But other than that it's still amazing, and allows you to download dictionaries offline.

Absolutely great dictionary/phrasebook for english-french. I have never seen anything even close this good for any language!

The great thing about Linguee is that it acts as an interpreter and a dictionary at the same time. I.e. you translate and are directed to the dictionary entry. What's also great is that it presents the verb even when entering a conjugation. This helps to understand a new language.

I love this dictionary so much, everytime I'm using to translate words and Look how I can use in text, I learned English and I'm learning Spanish and this dictionary helps me a lot. It is one of the best dictionaries that I used it, I used so many dictionaries (German=English) for more than one year, but this one is more clear and useful because there are many examples with the word, and in Germany language that is very important, we hope find it in future offline using, and in another languages too such as Arabic.
