Weld Parameter Guide for Android
The app is now useless for me. I have a 180 Dual which only has numbers and letters for voltage and wire speed. Initial release had letters and numbers, now have voltage and ipm. I haven't been able to find conversion chart.
My shop runs older mig welders and these setting arnt even close to running properly
It's not accurate ,I am going to say I expected more from Lincoln there product makes up for it I suppose.
If you have a Lincoln machine that uses letters rather than actual numbers for voltage or amps and wire speed, this app is useless.
Tig parameters way overstate the amperage required for steel... 1/8 in steel at 150 to 170 amps... That is ridiculous. No weld position setting. No pulse setting etc
This app needs amp range for mig. My mig only has volts and amps and no wirefeed speed. Thanks
The settings are a good starting point, but it's frustrating when you can't input all the settings you're using, since some of the options will disappear after you select the thickness, gas, etc.
Parameters are way to high. It's telling me 3/16 thickness metal and 1/8th inch electrode should be 140 to 160 amps. Chyeah okay...
Needs to have more. Can't put in your plate position or anything like that. What if I wanna do 4f or something. There'd no option for that
Tig settings wayyyy off. Uninstall
Gives too high of settings.
Great interface but just needs a few more params.
Not accurate useless actually
It's a good start but needs more depth. First off it'd be nice if it had more metals listed, such as cast, magnesium, titanium and copper. It'd also be nice if more thicknesses were available up past an inch (for unlimited thickness tests). Also it should contain the terms standardized by the AWS, for filler material and electrodes rather than manufacturer trade names. It'd be nice to have a joint design option as well. It'd be great if they'd also add a position option so you can reduce your heat according
My Lincoln Electric 180C (and many other models) use letters and numbers for voltage and wire feed speed. This app gives volts and ipm settings. I don't know if there's an independent chart that I can use to match up the settings. This app only shows two wire sizes (.035 & .045). I think the chart that came with my welder is more convenient and probably more accurate.
As much as I enjoy Lincoln electric and it's products and love the company this app needs some adjustments. I don't just use 7018 stick. No selection for anything else. No 6010 or 7010. Needs a little work. Need plate thickness too.
Needs more materials and generic AWS specs for the Lincoln product
Enter data and then nothing. Where is the look up button? Not showing for me.
Needs more to choose from for stick welding
It does the job but it needs improvement and refinement.
best application ever
Why no 75/25 on the gas just 90/10? Not only do there welders suck so does this app
Excellent
Well done easy to use
If u follow what they say do do u will have a very hard time welding. Very Limited to how much information u can input.
(I use a Lincoln Powerwave C300 at work) so it'd be nice to have pulse and frequency settings but It's good for getting an aproximate setting but is way too high to run with. For example 12g aluminum will burn through at 580in/min 19v 3/64 wire. More like 300-325 @ 20v. Otherwise good app.
Pretty limited info. Need to open up a wider range of materials and fillers I.e... when selecting 1/2" material with smaw it only gives you a choice of 3/16" electrode. Glad to see they got something going though.
As a student, this is a wonderful little tool. It gives me the general idea of what settings I need to be using. I can generally figure out the other settings for vertical and overhead, but it would be great to have the settings for the other positions. Especially if you don't know if you're welding within the AWS code. Also, an extra star for not having to carry that massive consumable for around everywhere.
Unlike the miller app it works. It still has it's flaws.
More options please!
Enter data and then nothing. Where is the look up button? Not showing for me.
It's a ok app
Great for basic numbers or filler wires when u might need em. Try it out
This app dose not always give you options what if all I have is 1/8" tungsten and the app tells me to use 5/32" I get it that the way it should be done but not allowing me to pick wah I have won't help me. And no flow rate? that's pretty useful information. I'll keep the app because I know it will get better over time.
No .052 wire options and limited to steel. Stainless and aluminum. No invar or other types of metal.
This is a decent enough app for the most common welding. But i'd like more options added, more electrodes/wires/tungsten/thicknesses and so on. (also a side note on the metric system. I'd love some cm's ;) )
This is one I'm having my students get...
App seems understandable and works good and its simple
I guess if your such a LE fan boy you buy everything through them this app would work. Millers weld app works way better IMO. Lincoln seems they are just full of themselves.

The app should be open to calculate settings with whichever parameters i give it. Somehow, the app relates thickness with rod diameters and limits some things. For example, i want to weld a 1/8 inch-thick steel plate with some 3/32 inch 7018 rod (which i learned by experience it welds well at 75 amps DC+) and the app doesnt let me use those parameters to determine the right current. It forces me to choose an 1/8 inch rod or 5/32. Please fix.
