What's an activation code?

Upon reading the description mention a crystal lattice, it implies this app may coincide to function together with as an intentional whole unit. Upon opening the app it requires an activation code. Because I have no access code nor crystal lattice, I have no experience to fairly rate the app from tried experience. My rating of 3 stars is for these reasons: 1.) It is not directly clear for some that this app goes with a paired physical product, and 2.) It doesnt inform nor direct where to learning more.
