LIFX for Android
I will be returning my one bulb and lifx Z litght strip. It does NOT work with Google Home. Keeps saying no lights are available. I have readded into the Google home app and it connects just fine, but when I say a command it says sorry no lights available. Philips Hue has no problem. Will be returning to buy Philips Hue.
After about 3 months of spotty connections and unrecognizable devices, the app actually works now. However I'm definitely not installing any more bulbs in case this ever happens again. I like you guys, but hue is going in the rest of the house.
I had to have a friend use their phone but after that they work perfectly, might just be a bit of human error on my end. I revise my statement and will say they are a step above Hue. They are so bright and realllllllllyyyyy easy to use with Alexa. They are so bright I find myself constantly turning them down due to so much light in a small space. If you're looking for a lot of light for a reasonable amount of money, look no further. The colors are very vivid and great for parties. I've gotten nothing but compliments.
Expensive and unreliable LiFX bulbs are best avoided. There are no diagnostics in this app to tell you why the bulbs won't connect to the cloud. You can get access to a minimal log, but it is scant use and LiFX support isn't able to read them better than you. Lack of cloud connection means no Nest integration. Extremely disappointing.
Needs work. Features/menus missing and some buttons do random thing.Only white control works without bugs. Could not do initial setup from phone. Had to use the windows app.
This is getting really frustrating now lifx, stop redesigning apps, stop adding useless new features, stop creating new integrations, stop designing new products and start putting all your efforts into making these bloody bulbs and the accompanying cloud infrastructure STABLE and USEABLE. Every time you do an update the bulb literally breaks and turns into a very expensive ugly dumb bulb. Why do I have to factory reset the bulb multiple times a month to get it reconnected to the cloud??? Massive pile of shite.
Bulbs are simply overpriced white bulbs without a working app. App used to continually freeze after just a couple minutes of usage, but now the app won't even complete it's syncing with bulbs to adjust color.
Since the recent update the app/bulbs are much better. Although I still lose connection, it's not nearly as much as previously. They seem to be slowly improving!
The light will not connect to the app. It hardlu ever works. It resets itself all the time. I bought it to makr my life easier and better and it consumes more time than it is worth.
Since the update my colour bulb only does whites. The colour option has disappeared
If you are having problems coming connecting, it took me two weeks to figure out I needed to set a fixed WiFi channel! I nearly went insane but setting my router to stay on channel 11 fixed it.
Music visualiser sucks it doesn't even match the song. That's bullshit
Bulbs loose connectivity easily and fail to follow through with schedules even with a strong Wi-Fi signal and often no other Wi-Fi traffic
FINALLYYYY!! YES! I've been waiting for like 6 months for LIFX to integrate with Google Home and now it is! Yes I know IFTTT works, but definitely not as well. Lights have been working seamlessly so far. LOVE IT!
Light bulbs do not work with app 90% of time... Unimaginably frustrating and not very 'smart'
Appears to be broken after 7.1.2 update. My lights are constantly offline now.
Simply will not connect to new bulbs. I set it up with one set in my bedroom, but in another room they CANNOT connect.
I love the bulb.... But I'd like to be able to organise the favourites menu with drag and drop :)...... Nice widget update !
Had no problems connecting with the bulb only thing I suggest is make it possible to change colours with alexa
Works with Google Assistant, Home Assistant and lifx own app. Amazing! Got 2 IR, 2 color and 1 strip. Works like a charm!
I love the actual bulb (and the price)! FINALLY works with Google Assistant and it works seamlessly. Great work! [4-7-17]
Just did update now my light wont stay on with the app i have to disconnect the app and turn my light on how do i fix this
I've been pretty tolerant, but lights seem to disconnect on their own to often... PLEASE FIX
Latest update brings some great UI improvement. I love how responsive the lights are to commands now!
Great when it all works. Unfortunately, usually doesn't
Not responding since new update. Note 4 edge
LIFX bulbs are really cool and versatile. I have several and love them!
Never have any problems at all with this app
Works quite well.
Work well
Most recent update has fixed most of my problems, the lights work consistently. My on wish is for you guys to implement a nicer looking material design theme eventually.
Spent days working with "SUPPORT" trying to get my lights to onboard after an ssid rename. They literally told me they had no idea how to fix it.
Android App Issue: I seem to be having an issue with the Android App and the LIFX Z Strip. Before the latest version, I can set up both Light Strip and a LIFX 1000 to do certain themes and save them accordingly. After the latest version, whenever i hit the button to start that theme, the 1000 reacts perfectly, but now the Light strip literally changes 1 tiny zone of the whole 3 mtr strip to the correct colour. However, the IOS app which has been updated works as expected. I have tried turning off and on with both lights and and devices and no change. Please look into this Thanks Paul
Update - lifx responded quickly and fixed most of bugs. App can still be improved. But overall a very good experience! New version has lots of bugs. Many times you turn light on off via app but it doesn't really turn on. Alexa integration works fine. Fix the app asap! Old one atleast worked properly!
App will not connect light on lg vs980 4g 5.0.2, constantly 'connecting to light' never succeeds. Reset hardware, connected manually to light, still doesn't connect to wifi network, attempts to send credentials and it disconnects, reconnects to light but it's unsuccessful. I was able to connect on an earlier version of this app. This update seems broken. Force stopped app, cleared cache, started app again, signed in, light was somehow now connected. Router wndr3400 dd-wrt firmware.
Lights just stopped working a couple days ago. Cannot reset to factory settings, reloaded app and tried firmware update with no help. This happens on two different android phones. The only way to turn on/off is with lamp switch and you cannot adjust colors. Beginning to not like LIFX.
Have had 2 bulbs of generation 3 for about 3 month. I like the fact that I can run the color spectrum to my hearts content. I don't like the fact that the bulbs will regularly disconnect and have had a few occasions where I've woken up and the bulbs are still on..huge disappointment. Then you have to reset them, then reconnect them. I can't depend on these bulbs being consistent. The price outweighs the advantage of these bulbs, iow, overpriced. I'm sure one day they will get better, today is not that day.
How come iOS version work so much better? Spent a lot of time just to "claim" one bulb which I didn't succeed BTW. Some of the reddit users said they have similar experience with Android app and that they have better luck using Amazon underground's lifx app or ios. Tried it and yeah, problem is fixed in no time.
Decent App, supports everything you need. You can group and edit bulbs per room etc. However, it is far away from intuitive. Connecting the bulbs to my WiFi was the worst, could not do it with my phone because I could not establish a connection. Tried to connect them to my WiFi over the Windows App. Took me over an hour, but it works finally

A decent, intuitive app. I love the colour temperature selection and I like the new dark theme from the recent update. I like the pastel effect and the ones which work well with multiple bulbs. I think the music one could be better though - it basically just flashes randomly and doesn't really feel reactive to the music at all. Also the connection can be a little temperamental at times but this may be down to the connection or bulb hardware.
