WORDsearch Bible for Android
This has been a useful tool in studying the Word of God. But lot needed to be done to make it a great tool. While reading a Bible commentary the verse links and cross references will work only when you are online. Even then the links will not work from the pop up window. This is a great inconvenience. Please rectify and make all links work even when you are offline. This is an urgent requirement from my side as a customer since I have purchased many books from your store. Also things like multiple windows, share options, lookup etc. are also needed to make it really great.
I downloaded the WordSearch program on my laptop, which I'm very happy with. But when I found out that it was available for Android devices as well, I was super excited. My only complaint is that when you go to login, it asks you for your Lifeway ID and password first thing, and it doesn't give you a chance to choose how you want to login. It would be nice to at least have a choice of how to login. Otherwise, I'm happy with it.
Navigation and usability are my main concerns. I have the HCSB Study Bible. In the app, I can either view the study notes or the Bible, but they are not integrated. I would like there to be links to the appropriate study notes content or study notes content embedded in the Bible text. Tecarta does this quite well, but does not offer the HCSB Study Bible. I own the physical version and wish I had access to a usable digital version. Unfortunately, this app is not it.
I have the Explore the Bible app on my Droid smart phone (which works great for ETB books) and I have WordSearch basic with a number of resources/references on my computer. This app won't sync my commentaries and such from the basic WordSearch with my ETB study books. Isn't it supposed to sync all of these in one app? It also will not archive my old ETB study books. And it takes forever to open a book on my phone. For now, I'm sticking with WordSearch basic on my computer and ETB app on my phone.
Old app at least allowed if only crudely to veiw all the content I own on desktop PC version. This one refuses to show me more than three Bibles. Android app has never risen to level of PC app. This has forced me to spend more money on another app for my tablets and phone.
If you load a book other than the Bible, there is no way to navigate other than to flip pages. For example, in The Bible Knowledge Commentary you can choose either the Old Testament or the New, then you have to flip page by page to get to your passage. Unusable.
I have a new Android ZTE. After uninstalling and reinstalling the app it still will not perform a full text search. It will perform a title/author search and it did link to my library. But the search feature is what I use the most from my phone. Disappointed.
I have a LOT of books in my Wordsearch on computer. Wanted to open on Android. It presented 3 Bibles only. And the first list of books in the Bible presented "Timothy". No 1st and 2nd. No way to download any of my other books. A waste. Does Lifeway not intend to support Wordsearch? I have a lot of money invested, would hate to lose it all
Unfortunately, very poor. Update, 2/19/17, Continue to be very disappointed. Freezes on start up, difficult to search, started to cut highlighted sections off (horizontally), and can't remove highlights. I called the company last year and was informed Android improvements were expected to begin Summer 2016. Still waiting. I've purchased interactive books for school and have then also purchased the physical book or a Kindle version in order to get through the text. Unfortunately, school vouchers can only be used to purchase books that can be read here.
Books don't open almost every time I try to open one. If not for that it could be a nice compliment to the desktop program. I am hopeful for continued development of the app, yet apprehensive as it appears Lifeway has already sidelined it as they continue all of their efforts and resources on the ipad version. It's been 8 months since this was updated where the bugs for downloading and reading books were fixed, yet I still can't open books that were downloaded like ESV and GWT Bibles.
I cannot access any type of index on my Moto Z. When I can get to an index it is not useful. For example the index for the Complete Works of Josephus only lists upper level book title and no books or chapters. Also the is no list for bookmarks, just a red ribbon in the text for which one has to search. The only book on which I have been able to access the index is the HCS Bible and then not consistently. I think this would be an excellent mobile app if I could reach the book indexes.
Why have to login 1st w/Lifeway ID then Wordsearch ID? Make 1 login.Only one book open at a time is very inconvenient... Should be a way to switch easily between books. The Settings should be accessible from menu at all times, and not just on All Products screen. Being able to access only the Book Contents when in a book, rather than full menu is annoying. I needed to change font size and had to exit the book, go to All Products, open the Menu, then Settings, change font and then go back and reopen the book.
This app comes in handy for accessing my textbooks, but it freezes up often. I try to bookmark or highlight a section and it won't let me. The Table of contents often appears blank ad well. With those functions being limited, or not working, it kind of defeats the purpose of having my books on the go.
I have always loved the window's ver but the Android ver is very disappointing. One of the worst bible apps out there. First double tap to open the menu bar works not even half the time just for starters. One would think they would put more resources into an app like this. Update: Well its obvious they are devoting their resources to the desktop version. With so many mobile users out there, What a shame could have been a great app.
Crashed every time I used it. Loved the older versions on computer. The phone version does not work. Update...works now but it won't search books. I need a searchable bible program.
This is nothing compared to the desktop version. Store only shows featured titles and it won't sync with my account at all. Needs a lot of work
This use to be a great app. But now I am not able to have access all my bookmarks at once and can't go back to the older version.
I only installed it because I had to for an online college course. It is a frustrating app. It will not download the book so I have to use my data plan or find wifi. It has a download option, but it was difficult to find and does not work. The material cannot be copied to clipboard. This app seems to be a poor attempt to get some market share from Kindle and Nook.
Have to use data or wifi to access purchased books. Cannot download books onto my tablet. The app does not have a sign in option. Only 3 books display in the app. Can't believe this was an option from the college bookstore for digital books. Bad, bad, bad.
This app is a good idea, but it does not want to flip pages very good. The following would make it almost perfect It needs a smooth page flip, like Google books page flip idea. And it needs to synchronize across all platforms
This was recommended a Bible study I'm doing. The actual study book recommends i use this website/app to look up Greek word meanings. As far as I can figure out, this app is only good for reading, unless I purchase other commentaries or dictionaries for deeper study for $10+. I deleted this app since already have a great Bible app. I would like to be able to do word *study*. Being able to tap on words and then read Greek, etc words & meanings would make this app worth having.
Extremely disappointed, needs major work. Nothing like the PC version.
Finally it works! On my previous Moto phone this app crashed continually. On my Moto G4 it finally works as designed. Good job guys!
Can't log in with Life way ID, keeps asking me to verify username and password. Have struggled with this for days now with emails to WordsearchBible and LifeWay all to no avail. Very disappointed to say the least
Downloaded this app to be able to use with Strong's like I was doing with my laptop. Only getting one Bible version and no menu option to use any other reference. Was hoping to have a more portable option. Can not use with phone or tablet.
This app was needed to read course text books for college. Forty minutes !after and it still hasn't opened my text book yet.
It would be really helpful when I'm looking at my entire library if the resources I've already downloaded had something to indicate that. Yes, I know I can sort them up top. I want to know which ones without having to sort.
Will not open books. Only shows me 3 bibles and nothing else.
If you own the main WordSearchBible software for PC or MAC you have a fantastic tool!! No need for expensive software like logos. This is just a supplementary program. Will be better with more functionality, in future releases
Not able to link words to Strong's Greek or Hebrew like in the desktop version.
Very usefull specially to my bible study and my preparation of sermon but i cant move to sd card
Keeps crashing when I attempt to select a Bible text.
desk top version has me spoiled.
Can not sign in
Almost everything you need to help you with your Bible study.
Awesome to have with the college courses I'm taking. Time saver and right at my finger tips access!
So I have three bibles...do I download them...and when I do that...I mean are there resources attatched...or is it bibles and no resources?
Does not work.
Great for on the go study but tends to restart it self

This app works on my phone. Haven't tried on my tablet but will edit comments when I do. I have the MacArthur Daily Bible and this is the first app that has halfway allowed me to use that book. Very pleased. . **** wonder if the shopping cart could offer more selection? ***After the last update you may try signing in again if your books aren't visible. Worked for me.
