এই সাহাবীরাই আল্লাহর রাসুল (সাঃ) ও তাঁর উম্মতের মধ্যে প্রথম মধ্যসুত্র। পরবর্তী উম্মত আল্লাহর কালাম পবিত্র কোরআন, কোরআনের ব্যাখ্যা, আল্লাহর রাসুলের পরিচয়, তাঁর শিক্ষা, আদর্শ, মোটকথা দ্বীনের সব কিছুই একমাত্র তাঁদেরই সুত্রে, তাঁদেরই মাধ্যমে জানতে পেরেছে।
