Lifehacker US for Android
Good app. Would give 5 stars if you could sync across devices. Got a new phone and am having to manually copy the link to all my saved articles.
The biggest issue is that ads masquerade as articles. Considering what is available at the Lifehacker web site, the content of this app is disappointing.
Lifehacker used to be about what its called, "lifehacker" and all things tips, tricks, and hints. Now, it's nothing more than a liberal Trump bashing left wing proproganda machine. I miss the old lifehacker. Where has it gone? Uninstalled, that's where its gone.
All amazon links cause an error and won't open.
Great app! I get so much useful information from life hacker.
Pop up app installs crossed the line with me!
Why do you obtain WIFI CONNECTION INFO perms??? It is not needed for app functions!!! What are you doing???
This is my only dose of Lifehacker.
Used to work fine but something changes amd how theres an incredible amount of spam. Never again.
Doesn't show ANYTHING
A great app for using a great and useful site.
Mostly relevant info
Love love love this app. So useful.
Slow
Outstanding app
Ads not only pop up, they self launch. Giving them probably thousands of unearned ad revenue. This practice should be banned. Shame Lifehacker for going with this company for their app. Everyone, blacklist this app. Until they fix this unethical practice.
Once upon a time, this was an awesome app. Now you can't read a single article without a dozen ad pop-ups. Completely unusable now. I get that it's a free app and you want to make a little money, but this is too far.
I really used to like this app but now it fails miserably because of the constant onslaught of pop-up ads. Just horrible. I would rather pay for a good product then endure this.
Tons of interesting tid - bits every day. June 2016:Unusable because of all the popups. Go to the website , same information , no pop ups!
unofficial app that's full of annoying pop up ads and auto launching game cut scenes are loud
Too many pop up adds, when you are trying read an artcle
Still use it almost daily, two years later
Too many pop ups ads, this app use to be good.
FeedBurner always fails to load
This moves me forward and beyond. God's gift
I love reading Lifehacker, but this app now constantly interrupts with trips to the Play Store. It wants me to download some stupid game and happens about every minute. I can just be looking at the possible Lifehacker stories to read and Bam! Off to the Play Store. This is really getting annoying! Uninstalling.
The only reason this app gets any stars is because it does deliver LH content. If the app discontinues this i will upgrade rating.
The previous version of this app was much better. With the current version, I cannot scroll through articles without opening a bunch of ads that link up to the play store.... None of which I clicked on!
finally keyboard control with arrow keys but there needs to be some sort of highlight when scrolling the articles still scoring low with this app devs need to take a look at makeuseof app to see what easy navigation is
A little annoyed by the full screen ads, but at least they are closeable immediately.
Ads over ads
love this app
I use this app everyday to keep up with Lifehacker. It's smooth and intuitive. If I want to remember something I see for later review (which happens almost daily) I just share it with Evernote. I am dropping my rating from 5 to three because of the ads. It's not always appropriate to have a video blast out. Having to remember to silence my phone so that I can read is just stupid. I would gladly pay a few dollars to make the ads go away. Please give me that option.
Used to be perfect, ads are just part of the game nowadays. But now the ads are so intrusive that this app is unusable. It's a 3rd party app as well, so the money isn't even going to Lifehacker, just the developer who has obviously gotten greedier by adding more ads. Do not download.
Was 5 stars, but now the ads are much more frequent and now include video ads that you can't skip (sometimes after 5 seconds). So after I read a clipping, I click back and a blaring video blasts out of my speakers! Really a problem if I'm in a meeting, or class, or late at night in bed! Might uninstall and stick with Drippler, Buzzfeed, etc. Otherwise great!
I like the app itself, but every 30 seconds or so it takes me to various specific apps on the app store. This is a highly intrusive and unacceptable way to have ads. Because of this I uninstalled the app.
Last update dumped ads on it and allows you the great honor of watching streaming video ads in a full screen pop up.
Love the hacks! Apps can be a bit annoying but worth dealing with for the content
Why wouldn't you want insider tips and tricks to better your way of life?
