LifeBoxApp for Android
Does what it says and is pretty cool to see what new features it might add. .. like being able to Mark events during day. ..

This is a pretty cool tool. I like knowing that things are automatically recorded without having to do anything. Would highly recommend.
I like it's simplicity and that you can just start it once and have everything recorded
Cool idea for an app, but unfortunately I find myself using Lifebox less and less. It just gets annoying to have to open up the Lifebox app and stop recording every time I want to use a different app that uses the cellphone's microphone (for instance, voice transcription for messaging). If Lifebox is recording and you attempt to use an app that uses your cell phone's microphone, the app displays "Can't open microphone". It would be cool if the Lifebox app recording was rooted deeper into android's software so that it would run underneath all the other apps that also use the phone's microphone. This way you wouldn't lose your cell phone's microphone functionality. I'm not sure if this is possible though.
When I reinstalled the app, it failed to record anymore.

The app promises 24 hour maintenance-free recording of audio, and delivers that. What it doesn't do is make all that recording useful by helping you find things within the files. Things it could do: Name the file according to the date and time of the recording. Add the files to a database so interesting parts could be flagged (either by the user or by algorithm) and replayed. Produce transcripts of any spoken text in the files. Get the other side of phone conversations.
