You can choose to have a contractor build cantilevered walls right on your property or have them built at a factory and brought to your home.

· Sheet Piling - If you have clay soil or are putting your retaining wall in a narrow area, this type of retaining wall is ideal. They can be made from a variety of materials, including steel, wood and vinyl, and because they are so versatile, they are becoming more and more popular. Much of the building material actually goes below ground in most cases, so you will need to use planks of certain materials. About two-thirds of the material is actually going to be visible and above ground.

· Anchored - If you need to have extra support to hold up earth, these retaining walls are great. The one problem with anchored walls is that they can be complicated to construct, and it takes a lot of hard work to make sure that they are installed properly. You need to think about what you need this wall for and decide if this is actually the best option for you
