App should connect to 2g and 3g but unfortunately only every now and then. For 90% it is impossible to connect without use of wifi. Cannot put in timing for lights to switch off and on automatically. Should be a great addition to use during holidays. Also a range of layouts available for remotes but once you made a choice it is impossible to get the other layouts to work and you're stuck with the first choice you made. Expected more gradient yellow tones to white and more brightness. Disappointed!

Simply doesn't work. My Mi-Light Series Wifi Controller doesn't show up. Neither does my Mi-Light 4 Zone Controller. Nothing shows up in my available networks/wifi's list either.

Works fine in the house using wifi. Does not work at all using 3g mobile data away from home

Good app. Even though it's a bit of a hassle to set everything up (lack of information within the app itself), once it's up and running, the whole lighting system is great (and quite inexpensive!).

Wow, I went from being super excited about this "wifi lightbulb" solution, to instantly irritated and upset, as soon as I started "setting it up". This is a horrible solution. The interface is cumbersome, and not in English. Not broadcasting your wireless SSID? Then you're out of luck. It's 2014. . .you almost have to work HARDER to make something as simple as connecting a device to a home wireless network this hard. 1 star is too nice. And they don't appear to favor Android of Apple. . .I have the app on both platforms, and they are both equally as crappy.

C70%

doesn't work, waste of money on bulbs and bridge if no app supports a version of android that's been out for a year. disappointed, but you get what you pay for.

C70%
by C####:

App works well, you just have to really read the included sheet carefully and realise that only some of the screens will apply to you. Other reviewers have nailed it by pointing out that this only really replaces the remote and doesn't add extra features that would be super helpful. It would be great if it were able to set schedules for artificial sunrise alarms etc but if you check out the Limitless LED website they have links to 3rd party apps that work well and the API is open so coding something up yourself is also a viable option.

This really needs a widget and more color options. But workd pretty well

Always get "Unfortunately, milight has stopped.", when I enter the Wi-Fi key. Samsung Note 4.

T70%

Add timers and separate controls for white lights. Most important however would be that i can program what i want the lights to do (unlimited). The program's that are factory absolutely ruin the potential of the product. Lots of bad app reviews time to get busy and make your product really shine. You might be better off to pay a developer and get it right. This market is growing fast and it will leave you behind!!!

It doesn't always detect the wifi lights controller so I have to force close and reopen the app a couple of times. A major issue is that I can't order my RGB led strip to become white as the app's color wheel lacks the white color.

Once you fix 3g issues, I'll change this rating and buy more bulbs, I've been trying to connect my bulbs remotely and not Wi-Fi nor 3g works, after i leave the app opened for 20 minutes it finally works

Hardly ever works on 3g. Please do some performance fixers.

Doesn't accomplish the basic task of connecting lights to your wifi, and very poorly written. Does control lights in Factory Default mode, where you disconnect your phone from your wifi and connect to network "milight," that anyone could connect to and mess with. But full setup where it connects to router appears to work and fails with no hint as to why.

Why does this app need me to give it permission to access my camera? After using it I don't see anything that would even remotely suggest the app needs access to the camera. Seems a bit dubious...

T70%
by T####:

The app functionality is fine, once you know how to use it, but it constantly loses its connection to the lights, and doesn't explain why. As far as I can tell the "away from home" setting simply doesn't work. EDIT: There's an alternative! Search for "Light Controller White & RGBW"

I have been quite happy with the Mi-Light bulbs but this app needs more work. Thankfully the API is opensource so other people can pick up the slack. The app needs to be updated to include: Widgets Scenes Custom Remotes Until then people should look into the other apps that are being actively developed.

S70%
by S####:

This bizarre application offers 6 different user interfaces, most of which don't work. The one that does work fairly well has some buttons that do nothing. 3 months into use, the off setting now keeps the bulbs slightly illuminated, so I have to use the remote instead of this app to turn them off. Good hardware let down by terrible software. I'll likely replace these bulbs with Phillips Hue.

Lots of reviews seem to conflate this app with the MiLight system as a whole. The bulbs themselves work brilliantly and I managed to configure them with minimal hassle. This app, on the other hand, is atrocious. Eschewing Android style guidelines, the app decides instead to obfuscate as much functionality as possible. I can't find a way to switch a bulb from RGB mode back to white. Why are there so many choices for "Monitor" and what, exactly, in this one-way protocol are they monitoring? If I had the time, I'd just write my own app - the protocol is well documented. No truly great app should require me to drop into Python to overcome its shortcomings and poorly thought through UI! EDIT: I did write my own app, search for "aLight" and enjoy :)

Pieces of the remote, like the white balance and brightness control on the dual white bulbs, shrink and move after pressing power buttons.

I love the system so far but developers please provide more features! I'm sure I speak for all of us using this even if we had to pay 1.99 I would pay it for timers, alarm clock settings and other stuff :-) put the time in to the app an you have a cracking product :-)

S70%

Worst app ever for such promising bulbs. Ugly ui, functionality sucks (like a real physical switch). No scene mode, no timer, no IFTTT integration, no widget. Looking forward app evolution.

S70%
by S####:

Its ok it works but I want an app that includes IFTTT and syncs with my blue tooth radio.....I hope there is some underground development going on because this app hasn't seen an update in forever. If you can afford them get the Phillips hue until this set gets up to par!!!!!

S70%

Not bad. The GUI is a little buggy. It would be nice to be able to select white in the RGB mode. A dynamic color selector like that of LED Magic Color Controller would be a nice thing to have.

App acts like the remote. Therefore I use the remote and not the app. How about improving this to compete with Hue? Are there any plans to improve the app?

W70%
by W####:

Whish the developer would have to use his own app. Every launch have to connect and choose the control again and again and again. A few presets would be the minimum on extras.

D70%
by D####:

The app is extremely poorly designed and I wouldn't have purchased the product myself if I knew the app was so bad the apps let the bulbs down so much because the bulbs are amazing! .... The hue lights app for Phillips hue is so beautifully designed and even support Android wear! This app doesn't even get updated either and I highly think there isn't even any support for it..... Very poor!

This app will let you control your lights with little drama. But my god its slow to load, the design looks like it was left back in 2008 and it has not been updated since Jan 2013. When opening the app you have the option to open 6 or so remotes, and the one you programmed is the only one that will work with your lights (unless you reprogram the other remotes). Why can't the default option be to open the app on your remote that you have programmed. Also whats with the colour/dimmer selector on the white light remote? it minimises when you open it and you have to guess where to press to make your lights dim or change hue. It definitely is a let down to an awesome hardware package, I've bought another physical remote just so I don't have to deal with the app.
