Milight 2.0 for Android
Functional is, at best, the praise I could give the app when it worked prior to Android 7.x. It would turn lights on and control the colors, but constantly having to select the remote is less than ideal and there aren't terribly many settings to play with. I'm mostly upset it's not being updated to play nicely with newer Android, thus leaving my lightbulbs deprecated.
app no longer functions and is no longer supported. Milight 3 app is not compatible with Milight 2.0 wifi bridge with no explanation I have found after hours of searching. Sorry, If you used this app for your lights, Milight apparently wants you to buy the new controller. I expect this to happen again in a year with Milight 3 when they decide they need more funds.
Doesn't work with the pixel xl. For being super bright LEDs controller you would think it's amazing but it's far from that. Only works with my tablet, can't build custom colors or flash patterns. Super disappointed, wouldn't have dropped a bill plus on lights and a controller if I knew the controller would be this bad...
Very unstable on android 7. If you are struggling as well, try downloading 'RGB LED Controller' app from the Google play store. Works vastly better than this.
doesn't work any more. this app is not updated since installed it last year and now it doesn't work with new Android update on my S7. I guess they only sell the boxes with simple app and not update or support it. Looking for alternatives now.
No longer works on my Nexus 6p - Looks like Nougat issue. Super pissed - not sure how to control my extensive installation of MiLight lights now. Lame.
With the latest rev of Android and their latest milight hardware I have noticed the app now crashes and lags almost constantly. Color changing functionality has frozen and doesn't work 90% of the time. It was working but now might work once and freeze from there on out. Even after fresh install and fresh load it crashes. Something with regards to comparability or in the code has changed, rendering this app mostly broken. At least they came out with an app for 3.0, so far it seems to work as one would expect
This app constantly crashes in android 7.1. Seems like a great app, just desperately needs stability updates.
No longer works, cannot connect to the controller or control the 3 bulbs. Just made the whole system a pile of scrap. Well done you should be proud.
Works with my old Samsung Galaxy SIII, but it freezes/inoperable on my Google Pixel, can't follow factory reset procedures on a 2.4 wifi controller, can connect to milight ssid, app just freezes after that, useless, using Android 8
Can u share the app u made that works with android 7?
Fix android 7 update!!! How log should I wait to throw the bulbs away??
Worked great until I got a new phone with Android 7. The color selector does not work. Please fix
Doesn't work at all on Android 7, had to use Android 4 on a virtual machine to set up the controller.
Doesn't work at all. Might have to send back the hardware. They don't deliver on their basic promise...
This app stopped working when I upgraded from Android 6 (Marshmallow) to 7 (Nougat)
It's work Okey but can't control the white on rgbW please add it and add more modes like fireplace and candles thanks
Doesn't seem to work with new android versions. The app RGB LED Controller works.
Didn't work at all
This app keeps coming up with a message saying it is not responding. I have had it for two years and this is only a recent issue. Nothing has changed with my home wifi, bridge or lighting set up
Need to hire Fonzie to help set this one up.....Good thing I watched him a lot as a kid. Lol. To sync lights, it's all in the timing. Flip the switch on, then right when the light turns on, about 2.5 sec latency, you hit the button on the app (l). After light stops blinking, hold the master white on (top left) until it goes solid white. Should work. Took me a few tries. Harder when multiple lights in group. Terrible UI. Maybe it'll get better. Then again, like Chinese shipping times, maybe not.
It's not just that it doesn't work. I open the app and nothing happens. No links react. I can't do anything but close the app. Makes the device useless.
Does not work with Nexus Galaxy 5X. The box where you type the wifi network's password can't be typed into so there is no way to complete the setup process.
Kind of does the job, great idea, I'd pay for this with a few tweeks. The lights come on prior to alarm and do fade up but not over the course of the 20 minutes I have asked for. They fade up over the course of about 20 seconds. Well done for a brilliant idea but I'd love to see this developed further. If you have a better paid version I'm in
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S6 phone, downloaded Milight version 3 app. Version 3 app does not work properly with my phone. So I unistalled version 3 and installed version 2 and now it works a treat. If you could see the smile on my face :-)
doesn't work at all, can't find any bridges, no buttons do anything. Completely unresponsive.
This work fine at home when connected to wifi but if I am at not at home and want to turn the lights on, it doesn't always connect, even with a satisfactory 4G connection. This app could be much better.
i have managed to vonnect milifht to my home wifi and when I use your app hothing happens
The app stays on the loading screen when I try to configure the network. I can even use the product. Disappointed.
Simply doesn't work. My Mi-Light Series Wifi Controller doesn't show up. Neither does my Mi-Light 4 Zone Controller. Nothing shows up in my available networks/wifi's list either.
The lamp was goog but wifi controller not worked as expected
Never get the prompt to "switch the device to STA and restart it" that the paper instructions which were included with the WiFi controller describes. Trying to control my 2.4G RGB with it using a MotoX with Android.
Useless. Was look forward to this.. I guess I just have to use remote instead of spooking people of a light controlling itself while I'm out of the room lol... Well actually it was mainly so i can turn on lights as I walk in... Sadly I still need to fumble for a remote or light switch to turn them on
It's ok. I was looking for a way to control both color and White from the same controller (different zones). Apparently this is not possible and I have to switch the "Monitor" to use single color lights. Very unfortunate.
Sad to see so many people struggling with this app. I found it easy and functional. I would love if it had scheduling options. Also, it's not exactly an attractive app or icon. Otherwise great!
App works ok on HTC one m8 with lollipop. Needs indicator of which led group is currently selected. App does not save group descriptions. Limited to 4 groups....
I've got a Samsung Galaxy S6 phone, downloaded Milight version 3 app. Version 3 app does not work properly with my phone. So I unistalled version 3 and installed version 2 and now it works a treat. If you could see the smile on my face :-)
Doesn't work to actually control it afterward though. Use RGBLedController app instead
Don't let me do anything

Well, at first, I thought that the WiFi controller I had bought was broken. Instead, it turns out it's this app, which doesn't seem to work very well on Android 7. It would not connect to my WiFi bridge and constantly froze and crashed. I had the idea and installed the app on my old phone, which still runs Android 4.4.2. It worked perfectly and I could easily control the lights, and adding my WiFi bridge was a breeze. So I captured the packets sent from this app on my old phone and made my own app instead.
