LINKcat for Android
I just replaced my Galaxy S4 with an S7, and was told to upgrade my app to this one. The old app was easy to read and simple-to-use. This one is terrible, when it isn't crashing it isn't showing all the items I have on hold. Please fix!
Why have the descriptions of materials been done in light gray type? Nearly impossible to read! Please: usability over fashion!!! Libraries are for everyone, not just people who can differentiate white from light gray. Please fix. Thank you.
The whole account page rarely loads, so I'm not able to see all of my books.
Fix this app & website please! Works 50% of the time and that is being generous! Will barely ever load my list of items checked out on both website & app. Please fix!
You're better off using the web version. Literally everything you do in this app (including using the back button) causes the app to display a loading screen as it (re)downloads info from the server. Somehow they managed to make these loading screens take 3-5 times longer than loading the equivalent page on the website. The one good thing that can be said about this app is that it remembers your library card number and password. Mind you, it doesn't actually keep you logged in; instead, it randomly takes you to a login screen where your credentials are pre-filled and makes you hit a submit button. This obviously serves mainly to add yet another long load screen (one for the login prompt and a second for the actual content you were trying to get in the first place)...
It is ok but I prefer using it on a laptop or computer.
Great for me
This does not work at all on my Samsung IIIS. I wish I could give no stars.
Can't see the whole list in order to renew. Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help. This could be Super convenient, but I just end up using the desktop or racking up overdue fines because I can't use the app. Successfully when I think of it.
Inefficient to do anything with this app. Can only checkout or renew one item at a time. Better off using the Web page version. That's not very good either, but it's better than this.
It won't load my whole page anymore. Can't see all the holds... tried uninstalling it and then installing it but no luck. Please fix!!
It's a bit faster to place holds than before but it never loads my whole hold list. So, I'm still mostly using the LinkCat site instead of this app.
The app is a little slow
It would give alerts when things were overdue or when requested items were ready for pickup.
Great for me
The new version won't open pages for me. The old one was convenient and fine and the new one practically unusable
Helpful, pretty easy to search. Wish it'd remember my card # & password.
Better
Does the basics well.
Nice start, keep on working on it
Upon opening the app it goes to a white screen with a tiny menu that has no links. So I could not get it to do anything. How unfortunate.
Hard to get into but lots of good info once logged in
Love it.
Almost unusable.
Not as rich with features as online but gets the job done when on the go.
Why does linkcat need to access my phone video cam at anytime it wants too without asking me? There is no reason you nees that access unless you plan to activate the cam without permission. I give 1 Star because of this. Remove cam access to get 5 Stars.
Looks like it is working on ICS now.
was great at first. Stopped working after upgrading my razr to ice cream sandwich. Now i get a white screen with no interactive links. Had great potential, liked it when it worked.
When are they going to update the app to work with ICS? It was fine before my phone updated.
It may be Kobo, but there are frequent times when neither the app nor linkcat on the Dolphin mobile brower just won't go--- app gives an error; browser doesn't display "place hold" button to complete.
Similar to "Adam" (6/12) if fails on my Droid 4 after upgrade. Before that, I liked it.
Having the same problem.Worked fine on my old Samsung Fascinate w/ 2.2, but on my new Moto Razor Maxx running ics get just white screen.
Was great until ICS, now it's non-functional. White screen with unclickable links.
Love this app! It works perfectly! I think it is even easier to use then on the computer. It has an easy list of all the books I have checked out as well is all the ones I have on hold including their status.
Eventually, app stopped communicating with library network and won't update at all, so it's pointless now.
Helpful, pretty easy to search. Wish it'd remember my card # & password.
In the few times i have tried it out, it won't let me use the back button on my phone to exit and it doesn't remember my id and password. The scanner worked great though.
I do better in opera mobile on my Android phone. But the app does lay some things out better. It has remembered my login info. Unhappily it gives no way to get to lists. I'll likely use it to check due dates, and maybe some searches (but we need to be able to save them better).
I loved this app on my iPod but just gives me a white screen and no links on my Android.

This app is really convenient and I use it a lot. However, it is not very intuitive and lately has not been working. When I try to load my account, it sends me to an error page. This has been happening on both my phone and tablet, which leads me to believe the problem is with the app itself.
