LG Call for Android Wear

LG appear to be taking a little extra profit now, but will pay dearly for the privilege on all future wear products! At a time when android wear needs to present a professional front, to compete with the iwatch, LG's fiasco has done untold damage. I appear to one amongst many early adopters who will skip quickly past LG products when it comes to my next tech purchase!

The app isn't working for Android 6.0 Marshmallow on my dual Sims Lenovo Vibe P1. Because Android chooses only one sim or will ask which sim to use. So I have to take my phone out to make the call. Worked perfectly on Lollipop. Please fix this.

Well it could have been more specific.. The calls are initiated on your mobile.. and its not even close to Samsung 1st gen watches where you can use watch alone to complete conversation..

Needs work, had to add all my contacts and groups into my favorite's to get things to display correctly on my watch. Would also like to see letters as well as numbers on the dialer. I am enjoying the product

Used to have galaxy gear (1st one) and had constant update and notification issues ,more updates created more issues when I finally got LG urbine was instantly impressed, I've never had a single issue with my lg urbine and this works perfectly ,good clean notify of call and display with this app , full stars!

Can anyone please tell me if the LG G Watch R has the capability to answer calls on your watch and be able to speak into the watch without pulling out your phone? I see that the watch has a speaker option, but can we use it to have a conversation (like you can do with the LG Urbane 2nd Ed.). This info would greatly help in my choice to purchase the G watch R or not. Thanks a lot.

It took a couple of reboots on phone and watch but it works great. Download the app onto your phone, you do not need to open it and it doesn't appear in your app tray, although you can see it in your 'my app' as a downloaded app. I think I rebooted the watch 3 times and the phone once to get it all synced. App is neat with some handy features which work well.

Works well with watch urbane and lg3. Still need phone close by to make calls but you can receive and dial without a problem. If you have trouble seeing your contacts on the watch update your google plus contacts and mark them with the star. That should make them visisble on your watch. Add the speaker app to active your phone speaker on incoming calls. Handy if you are driving without a headset and phone is out of reach. Similar to car blue tooth sync to phone.

Works perfect. For those who own a Note 4, and complained that it's not working : When using to call from your watch the first time, with the Note 4, one needs to have the Phone And Phone App OPEN. Your Smartphone will ask you if to use this kind of a action ( calling from your LG urban ) with Phone/Skype/Viber etc. Make your choice. And then it will work automatically, from then on.

Stock software was sufficient. FIX the WiFi compatibility issue and stop brushing it off as a useless function. No of course I won't leave my phone at home BUT everything in my house, office and car with a remote can be networked and controlled via WiFi. I've got a watch with the internals of a 2010 super computer but I can't use it to turn up the TV or open the garage door. G watch R

Update: Seems like the issue is related to the fact that the phone is also using google voice with the option to make ALL calls using google Voice feature. If you change the setting on Voice to NOT make calls with Voice, then LG Call works. Got excited that the app is open up to GWR, but got real disappointed to find or it is not working on my Note 4. The dialer showed up for half a second then went away. Never made the call.

Description says "Make a call on your wrist" in which reality does this mean "you can't really do this, use your phone to make the call?" Disappointing to say the least. Change the description to be unambiguous - say clearly that the watch cannot be used as a phone.

Does not work on G Watch R UNTIL it has been updated to 5.1.1 everyone calm down. I got the update today and it works fine..... Oh and LG, enable Wifi for me please....

The point of this app is, you DO NOT have to pull out your phone at all, just pair a bluetooth headset to your watch, and your all set. You people low rate apps you don't understand or to ignorant to figure out.

In short....works perfectly, but its pointless. "Who cares if I can start a call on the watch if I just have to pull my phone out of my pocket for the call. It's not like its easier to make the call on my watch than my phone. So I have to ask; what is the point of this?"

I downloaded the Wear Speaker app and use Bluetooth headphones and it works fine now. Wish I'd known that the app was needed. Could have saved me a lot of headaches. If you purchase the Wear Speaker, you get to select your favorites, dial, hang up, choose a color background, and more. I can now call, talk, and hang up the phone on my LG G.

.......didn't work at all B$ a re install on phone and a restart on watch. Now get list of recent, favs etc and dialler but doesn't actually dial out on Note 4.......any tips?

' Make a call on your wrist '... NO YOU CANNOT. I have the LG urbane. Downloaded this app thinking it would be great. What a waste of time! Start a call with the watch but have to get your phone out to talk! Bloody useless without a microphone on the watch, easier just to get ur phone out of ur pocket as per usual!

So, the offensive decision to make this app only for the new watch was changed, good. Still the same thing with the wifi, I'm never buying an LG product ever again because of this, I supported this greedy company with a $300 watch so they try to force me to buy the same watch again with a small cosmetic change. Stay classy. 1 star because it's not that you rob me and then just give me my stuff back, it's that you're not supposed to rob me at all.

EDIT: It now works on G Watch R running Lollipop 5.1. But still, the GWR is being left out by LG by nit giving it wi-fi feature with the latest update, even though it's the exact same hardware as the Urbane. ->Original comment: For shame, LG. For shame! No support for the six months old G Watch R, which has the exact same internals as the Urbane! EVERYBODY, LET'S DOWNVOTE THIS APP TO OBLIVION!

This initiates a call on your phone. You then need to pick up the phone to speak to whoever you just called. What, exactly, is the point then? Answers on a postcard please.

All these ppl complaining about having to remove their phones for calls have never heard of Bluetooth/wired headsets. App works great. Makes it super convenient with a headset connected.

What does this save you from if you still need to pick the phone up to talk? If your driving you are looking at your wrist so no use there. If you at the office you still need to pull the phone out to talk.

Useless app! Why bother downloading an app if you still have to take the phone out of your pocket. Not a smart move for a smartwatch.......

*Update* So it looks like i was right. You can keep your stars :-) *original* Bad idea to release an app before it's ready, and not title it to make it clear that it only works with a device that's not yet widely available, and not with our other, similar devices. I'm hoping that GW and GWR owners are a software update away from full functionality with this app. Until the 5.1 update arrives on my GWR and it confirms compatibility, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt.

Works awesome when you wear bluetooth headphones/headset and don't need to touch your phone to make a call. Gives access to recent and favorites which is the most useful. LG needs better communication skills to avoid the fiasco that happened.

Does say In description 'supports: android 4.3+ (paired with lg watch urbane)' its not right at the top but its there. Try reading the whole app description before getting butt hurt

It works well on my watch, no doubt. Yet I really don't see it useful if I can have a conversation through the watch. If it's only going to iniciate the calls, then just might as well take out my phone out of the pocket and dial. Hope you guys can improe that little thing.

In order to make calls with your GWR you have to update your watch to 5.1.1 if you can't see the update simple restart your watch and connect it to your phone... Its usefull app but when i make calls through it i have to manually press speaker phone i wish it was automatically enabled

At least you have a pseudo excuse for the WiFi on the G Watch R (even if it's a lie). But limiting this app to the Urbane is like spiting in your customers face. I'll never buy an LG product again, and being the "geek" my friends and family come to see for advice I'll make sure everyone know about your "marketing strategies".

Once again burned for being an early adopter and pre-ordering the G Watch. If the issue of not supporting the G Watch and GWR is that the app requires Android Wear 5.1.1 please just tell us instead of leaving us in the dark and assuming that you are no longer supporting your first two Android Wear devices. If the reason you are not supporting the GW and GWR is that you are trying to drive sales of the Urbane then that is despicable and you have lost a customer.

My LG G Watch R has 5.1.1. This app will not force my Note 4 to make any calls. The watch displays recent calls, favorites, and the dialer, but none of the calls initiated by the app actually dial out. The app shows call completed, but my phone doesn't do anything. Any ideas? Thanks.

Got the latest versions of Android on lg watch and lg phone. Doesn't appear anywhere except installed apps. Lucky as at least I can uninstall it.

Don't see why I need this, but there was an icon for it after the 5.1.1 update so I installed it. Everyone is complaining about LG not enabling Wi-Fi on the R, but I don't see why this is an issue. Is anyone actually going to try to replace their phone with a watch? Or will you carry it anyway? Just use Bluetooth then.

I'm sorry but this is the last straw! My experience this year with LG this year has been complete trash! (Except for their 4k tvs that I own) I mean seriously! I firstly bought the lg g watch r for £45 more than a moto 360 because I clearly thought it was better! But the fact that a smartwatch cheaper than mine has now got more features (WiFi) and better support is infuriating! WTF lg making me buy a new watch and discontinuing 6 month old smartwatch! I swear if my g3 doesn't get the ux 4.0 from the g4!!!

The description says that it works with android wear devices, however it fails to mention that it does not work on all devices and only works on the Urbane. Was very disappointed to learn that I couldn't have this beautiful dialer ui on my G Watch.
