Music Flow Player for Android
UPDATE 01/06/2017: IF YOU WANT MULTI ROOM SUPPORT BACK, INSTALL GOOGLE HOME AND CREATE GROUPS (of speakers), WORKS A TREAT. LG have clearly given up but thank fook Google are still driving support for cast enabled devices for those of us that spent hard earned cash on LG kit!
I strongly dislike the app and I agree with most of the opinions with one star.
Latest update is bad. 17% battery drain on Android O.
Keeps losing conection. To reconnect is nothing short of a major engagement to hook up tablet to the speakers. Not my best investment.
There is no where to go to get directions, have someone answer questions. The link in playstore app goes nowhere.
Minor bug fix??? This downgrade renders my system virtually unusable. WHY WOULD YOU REMOVE THE STREAMING OPTIONS??? DEVELOPERS ARE IDIOTS. I spent over a thousand pounds on the sound bar/subwoofer and various satellite speakers to go around the house. I chose this system to go with the LG TV we purchase at the same time. Firstly I will say that the hardware itself is very good. The speakers sound great and appear to be very well made. The sound bar and sub work as they should. However the speakers that are placed around the house seem to be on a mission to make my life hell. They struggle to connect to the network and then regularly drop off forcing you to reset them. Pairing them is hit or miss. On the rare occasions it actually works it's is great. Unfortunately these occasions are few and far between. I'm guessing the problem lies with the app which is an absolute piece of unintuitive junk. LG should really do a product recall on this as it is not fit for purpose and should never have been released to market. Save your money and buy a Sonus system. I wish I had but now I'm stuck with this overpriced garbage. Shame on you LG. Also, what has happened to streaming from Tune in radio? That now seems to have disappeared? About the only good thing in the app and you have now taken that away as well! Developers need to find a new career.
Last update dropped all my speakers and won't connect anymore
Update: Changed from two stars to one star. LG just get worse. Recent update has taken the tech back 5 years. When it works it's great. Unfortunately it doesn't work more often than it does. Constantly having to turn the speakers on and off and just spending too much time getting them to connect. I have an hs7 sound bar and two h4 speakers. A lot of money to spend on something I give up on and end up carrying my (lg g3) phone about the house to listen to. Going back to Samsung for my phone and Tv as LG always disappoints.
Why do you even update the software if you're going to constantly break it? It was finally working properly for me and has been for some time but now I can't play my 2 speakers in sync via Google Cast. It's only working when streaming from in the app.
I like my speaker but this app has serious problems. I can use my speaker with play music, YT Music, etc but I just can't connect to it with Music Flow player. The speaker is connected with ethernet so it should not be rocket science. There were versions in the past that worked some times but even then not always. I'd hope the manufacturer could provide their devs with enough tech spec to deliver a stable mobile client. Really disapointing.
The menu options are limited. Why does it let you link a napster account and remove all options??? If this app was smart it would just like to the already developed apps and allow them to use the speaker. All the limitations have really put me off if LG speaker.
As the owner of 7 or 8 of these speakers i will say, don't waste your time. The speakers are beautifully made, solid and good looking. Let down by buggy software that makes initial connection difficult - forth attempt on my latest speaker - and then keeps your speaks falling off the network. This app isn't great either. Buy Sonos.
Written a review once and gave it two stars. Now I'm giving it one because of the most useless app and device. If you want something that connects to wi-fi with ease, don't get this speaker. It's rubbish, truly rubbish. Falls off the network then it won't pair with your phone. Buy a Sonos instead, they are great, this just isn't. Update since last LG app update.. this no longer finds a wireless network and as such, it's an expensive paperweight. I still maintain my previous recommendation... Buy a Sonos
Multicast functionality is completely broken after recent updates. I was able to use it before with multiple apps including Google play music, but now it is practically impossible... Somw testing before releasing sw updates to the public would be much appreciated ;)
No longer works for casting to groupings. The old groupings weren't the best but at least you could cast to multiple. You had to reset volumes Everytime. But now it will only cast to 1 speaker at a time. This is a complete waste. I bought for multi room and now it's just single room. WTF?
Learning this system is a work in progress and an exercise in patience. I discovered that downloading the Music Flow program onto Windows PC and running it alongside the app and allowing the two to sync makes for a much more stable experience. Then again, sometimes the app works perfectly without the PC program running. Most times the app will read and play the Music library on my phone, sometimes it won't. It's still glitchy and buggy. But for the most part it's a decent experience. I'm new to it so I'm still learning it's quirks. The speakers sounds amazing. I'm totally surprised and pleased with the warm, rich, full sound I'm getting from all 4 of my speakers. 1 H7, 2 H5's and 1 H4. Totally fills the house with sound. It's a winner. **UPDATE** Since writing my original review almost a year ago, I've added 5 additional H7 speakers to my home, bringing my total up to 9 speakers in all. I just received speakers 8 and 9 this morning. When I had 7 speakers, it worked perfectly for me. Google home and Chromecast audio have made the experience of owning this system even more enjoyable. Adding this two additional speakers has caused some stability issues I haven't seen before. Granted, I do have just about the cheapest, bargain basement Wi-Fi router imaginable. I've tried switching channels, 44 still works best. But it just completely stops broadcasting at times. Unplugging power from the router for 10 seconds gets it running again. But I think 9 speakers might be a bit too much for it. The music flow app still needs to be on the proper channel even when using Google home with Chromecast. The music flow eq setting effects sound while in Chromecast as well.
Drained 40% of my Moto Z Play Droid overnight while phone was idle. I was excited when LG FINALLY updated my speaker to be able to be a part of a cast group, but they need to figure out this apps issues ASAP.
A horrible experience. The recent updates are truly rubish. The speakers can not connect by wifi at all. Just don't know why you even bother to update the firmware.
Please fix bug lg v20 wirless connect whith muzik. for muzik felow not read file in sound bar please cheking new update for lg v20 tanks your company .and please open streaming service for a lot of apk musik redio flie all file open wirless conected very nice .
Not been able to connect through wifi. Easy setup is failing to connect. Mannual settings is also not indetifing wifi network. LG need to do something seriously. It is effeting your business badly.
Connectivity issues since updating to latest version of Android; the speaker will be playing music and then suddenly stop and I have to reboot both the phone and speaker before it'll reconnect OR I just suddenly lose the ability to change songs/adjust volume without first opening the app and selecting Connected Speakers. Biggest feature missing is still the ability to scroll through the songs list jumping through the alphabet and now the scroll bar on the right doesn't work often as it's too busy shrinking the size of the headers..
The app can't even find my home network while my phone is connected to it. When it does it works fine but randomly disconnects and then same problem. For an app tied to over $200 speakers this is unacceptable.
Most unreliable app. I have encountered. Keeps losing grouping for no reason. Constantly having to reconnect speakers . TOTAL RUBBISH!!!!! Buy at your peril. You have been warned. Buy Sonos. I am one very dissatisfied customer.
**Read if you are having problems** Update allowing Googlecast saves the day (nice one Dev's!). I had all the same problems as those well documented here and elsewhere. Here's how I got it working well enough (hopefully will help you too): Firstly, if you are using a bridge, ditch it now. It sucks. Connect all speakers to your WIFI directly via this app (first find a low traffic channel using any WIFI analyser - 2 second job - and jump on that one). Now install Google Home and create your groupings from there. Don't group in the Music Flow app at the moment, not sure why, but it doesn't work. In fact, never open the Music Flow app again (Google Home and Spotify all the way). That should really help. I have several speakers, none are wired. Works almost perfectly. 3/5 for the app which I think is fair. Can still go up Dev's, almost there(!). In fairness though, I must admit L/R speakers is not working at the moment for me but on the flip side, been a while since I had to do the speaker reboot dance around the house so much improved!
The volume somehow set to Max and I cannot turn the volume down. My neighbours must love when I give a try.... rubbish
And another crock of s**t update from LG. Over the years I have got used to having to battle to get the thing to work again after an update but this one is the worst yet!! Streaming from my network storage is now impossible. LG respond to your customers and sort this app out!!
I used to have stability problems.Constantly having to reboot my speakers.until i bought a wifi extender.now no more stability issues. Those experiencing these issues i recommend a dual band wifi extender.problem solved.
Very disappointed. Cannot find any wifi networks, therefore cannot connect my wireless soundbar to play music at all which is the only reason I bought it. This problem will stop me from buying any LG products in the future.
Since the last update it has stopped me from using the sound editor when I'm on wifi playing music I'm not happy about it wish I never did the update and wish i knew how to roll back to before the update or LG if you value your customers please push out and update to fix this rubbish ASAP and not in a year or two. I gave a feeling they don't even look at there customers feedback
No longer casts in groups, the whole reason I bought LG!! Every time you so much a touch the flow player it stops playing. Needs fixing ASAP!!
Works well.... make sure to plug one speaker via cable to router then others as mesh network..
Not the easiest to set up and now can't connect two speakers.
works ok but how on earth do you shut down the app on your phone?
I have hs7 and two h4 speakers app works well but needs a overhaul to apply Android app design guidelines.
Well this apps is very unstable and terrible...difficult to setting and always disconnect either using Wifi ir Bluetooth...now I became no fans for LG...wasting money for pairing SH7 and 2 pc H3...no sh**
It's great when it works...too bad it rarely works...the speakers unsync often...mad I went all out and got 4 for this system........added 1 star...if you hard wire one into the router they all work better
Its a total waste of money buying the LG music flow
Doesn't even work with a new LG phone. Lol
Why does your app now no longer provide the list of available WiFi networks to connect to still. Been like it for months. Even windows 10 now can't connect speaker. Sort the issues out please. M

I own LAS950M sound bar and it works amazingly with it. Very intuitive and fast. The sound bar in itself sounds so awesome. The sound is so clean and crisp at any level. The subwoofer sounds awesome too and packs a punch to say the least. All in all LG really has done a great job with engineering and creating such great home theatre system and aesthetically gorgeous too. Keep up the great work LG!!!
