Uno Noteband for Android
Not worth the wait or money. New update and still not working. Hard to have any faith in a product that took this long to produce.
Updated June 1: Things are going much better... to my pleasant surprise. I have no connectivity issues today and I am getting quick / accurate notifications on the noteband paired to my Nexus 6p. Nice! Still checking out battery life...
Quite possibly. It's next to useless, it's not smart because the idiot thing doesn't even see the band when it's Bluetooth hits it square in the face
Took 2 years to develop this and the app doesn't even work 90% of the time. Seriously regretting backing the noteband. If you need me I'll be using my gear fit instead.
2 days updating firmware loop. Not only is the app being removed but the band is being returned
The UNO app V 1.4.1, released on May 19, seems to not be working. After updating to V 1.4.1, my UNO Noteband is stuck in the "Waiting #xx" firmware update loop. Prior to V 1.4.1, everything worked fine.
horrible app, doesn't stay connected to noteband
Slight problem setting up, nothing to do with the app, latest android got in the way a little. Nice little device, well made, love the speed reader feature. Early days yet people. Give it a chance.
Waited for so long and so much bs. Got SO excited when it arrived. Connected to my phone. Noteband immediately tried to upgrade itself (as was said it would), then it locked up. I have read all troubleshooting files and spent about 10 hours on this. Emailed developers. Only helpful answer was, "it shouldn't be doing that. And well, we will add S7 to the list of phones that don't work". Guess I will toss it in a drawer? Update--They shipped me a new Uno and it connected immediately. I must have gotten a lemon the first time. Now I'm excited to use it and try it. UPDATE--after one full day of wearing it, I would have to describe it as "Glitchy" at very best. I am struggling to see how this could POSSIBLY help me in my day? It keeps disconnecting and I am having trouble re-connecting. also when I get multiple emails or texts, I cannot read them with the messages saying "2 emails". If I had purchased it retail, I would certainly return it. Since it was Kickstarter, I will continue to try to make it work. Hopefully some future upgrades will make it useful, for now it is a novelty AT BEST. No functionality for my daily life.
I, like pretty much everyone else on here have come to the conclusion that this App and pretty much the entire product is a flaming piece of garbage. Takes forever to load, after taking forever to connect and update. I finally reach the APP screen, only, to be greeted by......NOTHING, and not in the Edgar Allan Poe type of nothing. Absolute garbage! Avoid the Uno Noteband at all costs. Go buy yourself a fitbit and save yourself major headaches!
the setup screen (displayed after firmware push) froze. had to close the app and reopen it. This app needs a way to select text on the device and push to the noteband for reading.
Spent hours trying to get this poorly tested device working...waste of time and money.
Recent update has done nothing to fix current issues. At the moment this app allows me to have a vibrating arm as well as a vibrating pocket. Being able to read that I have 2 new emails rather than the capacity to spritz their content goes against the entire purpose of this device.
And I am being generous
Very frustrating to setup. Multiple attempts to connect with the app which wipe the device upon reconnecting. Yes this is still in development and it has been in development for some time. Guys you need need more support for this device. There are a lot of things that don't work with the app.
Installs, then fails to run or do anything. Seems like Android was an after though and not really tested. This was built by a game company using Unity, not a native app.
Got my package today, not even a box to keep it safe, but a package. Opened it up to find a cracked box!! Good news the notband was not broken to my knowledge it's ok. After charging it fully I paired it with my phone, Once, and I never could again. I tried to add steam and my ps4 account, but it will not reconnect to my phone. Im now after 2 years of waiting am as a valued guest and investor, looking my money back or free upgrades. If you don't the BBB will be more than happy to investigate this for me!!!
As everyone that had reviewed on here already, the app is in it's current state, garbage. I can see the room for improvement however, if the company doesn't or can't, I suggest they make this app open source. I love the device itself as it fits what I want out of a smart watch. Too bad the software isn't what I expected it to be. I can make it work, but getting to the options and reconnecting the device is a pita.
no settings and very laggy doesn't see the note band..
Utterly rubbish app and hardware. I had such high hopes, I waited so long. For this. Clunky interface, dropped connections between the app and the noteband, erratic touch response, badly designed strap ... I could go on. Never again will I back hardware on a funding platform.
Yes it's as bed as the feedback would have you believe. There really is very little to the app or band at all its like a less functional pebble watch. None of the settings or basic functionality. Hope for frequent updates
Total failed app, hardware and interface with Nexus 6. Nearly impossible to set up. Bluetooth drops every few minutes. Apps nearly impossible to set up. Uno set up app continues to try to connect. Based on indiegogo rollout I have little faith in a quick fix. Google fit not integrated yet. What more do I need to say? What was I thinking?
Pre-Alpha quality interface, which is a shame, considering how long it's been in development. I keep randomly switching 24 hour and 12 hour time - why is this a single swipe option? App doesn't follow anything resembling material design, and there are no configurable options apart from Spritz speed and app notifications (AFTER they send a notification?) This is very, very clunky, and it's not very useful. There's room for improvement, though, so I'll check back in a couple months.
Most buttons just open your browser and take you to the website. Why not use a webview instead? App does not find noteband and restarts itself. You'd expect that once connected to Bluetooth it would just work. Seems like a great prototype but this is in no way a finished product.
Would not run on Samsung phone with Android 5.0. No response from tech support for over 24 hours. This after device was months overdue via Indiegogo.
Can access vibration level, brightness, do not disturb and other basic settings
Each time the app is opened or switched to, an attempt is made to initialize the noteband. This then inevitably causes the bluetooth to drop. In order to reconnect the bluetooth, one must restart the noteband (using the charger cable and pin, so good luck doing this in the park). Once the noteband restarts, and is connected via bluetooth, it is then a requirement to open the uno app to set the scroll speed or modify notification access. At this point go back to the top of the story and read again. Now read that tens of times per day, taking 15-30 minutes each time. This estimation depends upon being randomly selected as the winner of a free firmware upgrade upon opening the app. (1 in 5 chance of winning)
Once your noteband loses connection with ur mobile device. The app is unable to pick it up again when you try to RE-sync. Even tho the noteband is right beside the device n connected by bluetooth.
The Uno Noteband has great potential, but currently has limited functionality. After an incredibly long wait for this device, I am disappointed by how little it actually does. A counterintuitive app screen ends up being populated as you receive notifications, as the app captures and forwards notifications that you receive (but won't forward my Outlook notifications for some reason). This is the only thing it does. You can't read emails, books, or anything you'd actually want to read with Spritz.
Hard to put on. Seems to disconnect often from noteband. Unit battery seems to run out in a day. Sliding the display is a bit challenging at times. Notifier part not that useful IMHO.
Cannot connect consistently with phone (6 edge +) or tablet (Samsung Tab). When it is connected, it has no alerts. It's basically a watch and pedometer. Does Indiegogo give refunds? These developers should be banned from Android. Worthless.
It was difficult to get the firmware updated, then difficult to pair, now it has a blank screen where apps should be. Shame on the Android designers and developers who created this, you didn't do even 1/4 the testing you should have, and the interface is hideous to boot.
Can't find the band when it's connect? Disappointed
No supported apps. So hard to setup. Such a joke.
The 'app' page is blank and doesn't do anything with a long press, only the menu icon in the corner which redirects to the site. No specific instruction oh how to connect apps to the device, though the rest of the setup was pretty painless. Thanks for that, though without apps, the device is useless. :/ help?
I got the note 3 and says my phone doesn't support this app.
Tried three Android phones and could not get it to work correctly. Had to use an Apple phone to.get it to work. Please fix this for Android phones.
It feels like 3 or four months of work need to be done on this app, and extensive user testing and debugging. I expect this to work sometime towards the end of 2016, if they work really hard and focus on user testing. I'm bummed that after a few hours of playing with it, it became clear that it would never work. I'll check back in November, 2016. I bought four of these to give as gifts, and it just might still be useful to someone as a Christmas gift if they can get it to install and read email.
At least Richard Brautigan understands how I feel about Uno Noteband... Love Poem It's so nice to wake up in the morning all alone and not have to tell somebody you love them when you don't love them any more

Completely useless app so far. The app connected at first then died updating my noteband. Since then, it has not been able to find or initialise the connection to the band. Although the band indicates it is connected on bluetooth the app just sits on the searching screen. The latest update has improved things but it is still very buggy and lots of disconnections.
