Palabre Feedly RSS Reader News for Android
Was looking for a transparent looking widget and this hits all the marks! Brilliant widget, scrollable news, nice news, and the best thing? Clicking on the widget article takes me right to the article of which I'm ONE button away from sharing to Pocket, which is how I read. I don't usually post reviews but this really is great, thanks! Edit: question tho, the widget seems to have a large amount of scrolling and I'm not sure if this uses up loads of data or whatnot. Would be nice if I could limit to say like a 100 and then manually refresh whenever I want!
Its a much improved App & deserves 5 Stars. It's a request to provide some news contents/lines (preferably small expanding arrow for this purpose) below news headlines in large card view for quickly reading of some/less relevant news, Auto mark news as read also while scrolling news in widgets and please fix error for non functioning of double tap readability function.
It's a good app, nice design and features. But it keeps crashing, several times a day, when it's refreshing the new articles. Maybe because when I open it and try to access an article, it also is auto-refreshing in the same time, causing the crash (black or white screen, followed from force-close). Galaxy S7
RSS may not be dead, but development for quality RSS apps for Android is! This app hasn't been updated in months and neither has Feedly's own. It's almost as if users are expected to get their news from platforms that are riddled with advertisements like social media,, Flipboard, or the websites themselves.
Seems to constantly mark all articles as read on its own. Recently there's nothing but daily updates for an untested product. App freezes and lags, this used to be a favorite but I'm going to be looking far an alternative.
offline caching works though some rss feeds does not have full article. option to cache full article with readability and category based sync would make this app perfect. i have for example huge amounts of photography subscription that don't want to be synced to my phone thanks =] (beatiful ui by the way) edit: this is becoming a problem for could you add an option to disable syncing chosen categories? Thanks.
This app gets the job done at retrieving RSS feeds right on time. Often other news apps show me too much news and there's too much extraneous information. With Palabre I can pick reliable sources and filter out the unnecessary articles (honestly don't care too much about entertainment news). All wrapped up in a neat material design and I can even customize text for reading the articles! The Twitter integration works well too. Since I'm not much of a tweeter the read-only is good enough for me. Great job!
Good, easy to use and actively developed. Only drawback is inability to sync items older than 10 days while Feedly server holds them for 30 days. Also the mark as read on scroll function is not working properly - scrolled items are never marked, and clicking mark all above as read twice would crash the app.
Would he better if it didn't reset your viewing whenever you leave an article and have it spawn all the way back at the top of the list. That's bad when you have like 100s articles to go through
Very bad on latest update on oneplus 3 nougat. The widget keeps refreshing and only brings old news and sometimes crashing and hanging on refresh. Worst RSS ever.
I have to close the app entirely too get refreshed news. I swipe down to refresh, the loading indicator goes away, but the new articles never show. I have to completely close the app and reopen it to get the new articles.
Crashes more than it works. Looking for alternatives. Don't waste your time.
(April 2016) I'm using it as a standalone RSS reader, adding sources manually. Works great, however there is not an option to sync sources across devices that I could find. A Google sign-in, Facebook, etc. would do wonders here. I would recommend this app. (December 2016) Still a good app. Still wish it had cross device syncing capabilities without the need for Feedly or innoreader, etc.
This app looked promising at first. However when switching to another app to check a reference or write down an idea, and then switching back to the blog post, the app jumps out of the post or at the beginning of the post. It makes the app completely unusable.... Pity. I use android 7.1.1
Even though offline mode is enabled and I've downloaded tons of articles already.... Offline content is only shown if the attempt to retrieve online content fails and that takes 30s or more. Load offline first!
Sent them an email reporting a super annoying bug. A few days later it got fixed with the latest update. These people are awesome!
Auto-readability isn't working for some articles as they used to. I just upgraded to Nougat and did a factory reset. It should still work though?
haven't used app in a few days. noticed battery was was low. checked battery usage. palabre using 8%. forced quit the app and still using 5%. not the first time this has happened.
it is great! Good for reading news offline in the train and tube. Unlike feedly which removes all the feeds when theere is no internet, this one retains all the feeds.
Promising app but development has stopped for this app, developer hasn't left any comments on their beta channel for almost a year.
News marked as read return upon next refresh as opened ones. Also not all feeds are synced (in comparison to other rss clients working consistently in that regard). Please make a fix.
The fastest of all, with a plethora of (display and downloading) options, absolutely recommended :D Just the best one I came across, tried many, even better than gReader. Stable.
Giving you one star as I'm still getting stupid ads after paying for removing 'em!
The only thing I'd like it to add was to sort news by category on the full screen widget, so far loving the app
Nice presentation of custom RSS feeds that let's me pick my favorite news and information sources. But no way to save and restore Settings. (Add that and I'll buy the paid version.)
Not sure what's happened but feeds are updated 3 days late. How can this app be taken seriously when it only provides access to old news.
Its a very nice app with beautiful UI. But if I am reading article and use other app without quitting. When I click back your app, it not going to the article I am reading instead the overview of article list. The article I was reading is not shown as its considered ”read”
The apps filtering does not work at all. I want it to block several topics and several specific words and they all still show up.
Can we have the article list page scrolled by "page flip" style? It is eye straining to keep track of a scroll list line by line in a small screen...
My new favorite RSS news app. I used greader pro for a long time but I like this better.
Offline mode only cache article text not cache images. Images are not load untill I enter the article viewing page.
The feed can't update since 12 days. Only month old news
Was good, now Auto Readability was crippled. Sad choice from developer
Long tapping an image to view its title text seems to fetch the image again, though, taking time and bandwidth when it's already downloaded anyway. Great RSS reader otherwise.
Ads plastered throughout all the feeds. Horrible!
The best reader with beautifull widget and nice material design! I paid for no adds and loved it!
Tengo la versión premium y al parecer no funciona como promete la app. Necesito que: al sincronizar las noticias para luego verlas offline, además de guardar los articulos completos descargue las imágenes. Tengo las opciones habilitadas para ello en settings pero no funciona.
Stuff I've marked as read comes back after a refresh.
I will list my issues that made me giving only 4 stars. It is a great app BTW. Sometimes after refresh article list is empty and have to rotate device or restart app to see articles. from reading view I totally miss a progress indicator, I'd like to see how many unread articles have I still have.

Cool UI & sync with Feedly without issues. Readability gets arricle quickly. Best on Android so far but still downloads tooooo many articles. The smallest limit on articles is 1000! Who reads through 1000 headlines in a day, defeats the purpose of app. Please reduce article minimum limit to 250
