About iComfort Thermostat

This app is designed to be used with the Lennox iComfort S30 Thermostat

The Lennox iComfort S30 thermostat doesn’t just control temperatures like a conventional thermostat, it automatically adapts to individual lifestyles and to the changing environment to help deliver the ultimate in comfort, energy savings and peace of mind. The Lennox iComfort App allows the user to control their HVAC system from anywhere in the world as though they were standing in front of their own thermostat.

App Features
• Adjust and view your house temperature from anywhere in the world
• Edit and view your thermostat schedule
• Smart Away™ Mode uses the location on your mobile phone to detect when the house is empty and automatically change the temperature to a more energy-efficient setting. When a family member is on the way home it automatically returns the temperature to its regular setting
• Much like a weather report will use a temperature and wind speed to determine a Wind Chill index to indicate the perceived temperature, the iComfort S30’s Feels Like™ Temperature takes into account indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity to make a home feel exactly like the homeowner desires. Therefore, when the thermostat is set to 72 degrees, a home will “Feel Like” 72 degrees year-round
• Allergen Defender on the iComfort S30 gives immediate allergy relief by monitoring air quality and pollen levels outside. When high levels of pollutants and allergens are detected, the fan automatically turns on to keep the home’s air clean
• The thermostat’s advanced warning system predicts problems before they happen and alerts the homeowner
• Safety protection notifies you if your house gets too hot or too cold
• Get alerts, reminders and advanced warnings from your system wherever you are

You must own a Lennox iComfort S30 thermostat to use this app. The Lennox iComfort S30 thermostat must also be connected to your home’s Wi-Fi router before the app can control the settings. For more information go to http://www.lennox.com/icomforts30/

What are users saying about iComfort Thermostat

The app sometimes fails to display current information. This is usually fixed forcing a stop and then restarting. There should be a way to manually request an update.

Better to go to the icomfort website through your chrome browser on your phone then to install this app. At least chrome rememberes your credentials and allows you to login faster to get to your thermostat. I know this is a review for the app itself but the thermostat itself isn't very user friendly or smart either. Better to go with nest or ecobee. Hopefully you read this review before you purchase the thermostat.... And why did the app use 100mb of mobile data this month??? I opened the app maybe for 20 seconds during the entire month while away from wifi. Is it constantly synchronizing even when I'm not using it? Correct the login process and smarten up the data usage and this so will get a proper rating.

Edit: As of July 7th, I'm able to login again. Unable to login at all since July 3, 2017. Web version works but not the app. Getting warnings about locking my account due to fail attempts. Tested it with a dummy account and same issue. You guys did some updates on the backend and didn't update the app....

Edit: Issue described here appears to have bee resolved and app works much more smoothly - - > On my Galaxy s6, the app frequently cannot connect to the thermostat over 4g, then forces a log out. The only way to successfully log back in is to force stop the app, then open it and type in my credentials again. It is very inconvenient. Looking forward to using the already existing functionality when this bug is resolved.

by D####:

This app it terrible most of the time forgets log in and can't control thermostat and smart away doesn't work right. I'm upset that you spend all this money on a new system and the advice from your highvac company to make your system more efficient doesn't work.

J70%
by J####:

Idea is great but the app is never actually connected to the system. Any changes on the app like temperature change for example will revert back to previous setting. You cannot trust how accurate it is because you never know if it is updating. Have had this for a few short days and already completely unhappy. Very disappointed that they do not come out with updates to fix the issues. Come on Lennox, you are better than this.

When I try to set up a weekly/weekend schedule, it locks up my phone. Must power phon off to tecover.

D70%
by D####:

You have to reinstall each time to get it to work. Awful, awful app. Glad the Lenox equipment is not this bad.

G70%
by G####:

Boy this is hard for me to say but this app is horrible. Which makes me wonder why would Lennox make the best AC compressor and Air handler on the planet with true variable cooling and full communication thermostat and then give the most garbage app ever? I can't log in the smart away feature works when it feels like it. Lennox get your stuff together and sort out your shiite. You make a great product but epic fail on the app and app network support. If I can't log in then your thermostat is useless to me

A70%
by A####:

Works okay but does have some issues. I have found that leaving the app open seems to cause most of the issues I have seen and are described by others as well. For instance if you try to open it, and it's already open, it will sometimes ask for credentials again. If you close the app, then start fresh, it seems to log right in. They definitely need to devote some more time to development on this considering how expensive the unit is. I am also a little annoyed that they supposedly will have a new version, of the thermostat, soon that will be compatible with things like the Amazon Echo. I bet mine doesn't get upgraded to that.

D70%
by D####:

The application was bad before and definitely got worse with the last update. It's not even accurately reading the settings from the thermostat or applying changes.

D70%
by D####:

The app continually crashes when attempting to edit the schedule. Then it will set the schedule to random times. i'm attempting to get the system right, but this app makes it impossible.

Don't know why people are having so much trouble had for 5 months never an issue can create all programing and humidifier setting

Just got an entire Lennox system. This thing is so buggy it drives me crazy. "No internet connection", make changes and they don't take, freezes/crashes back to home screen, Geo fencing is never recognized (leave the house, come home and the furnace will not start Bc it thinks you are not there). HVAC installers clamour over this thing Bc it shows them silly sensor readings residential users don't care about! If this thing worked half as well as my old Nest it may be acceptable. Not even their web portal works for me "offline." this iComfort S30 is brutal and I'm ready to throw it out on the street!

D70%
by D####:

It works as intended, most of the time. Full remote access to all of the user facin8g sections of the S30 thermostat. Smartaway feature works great with one person, however multiple users introduces an interesting bug where it sets itself to 70/79, no matter what you tell it change to (during smartaway). No obvious way to contact Lennox support about this other than via a non-technical dealer (who asked me to teach them how to use Smartaway once I figured it out), or by calling Lennox's main number during normal business hours. Otherwise works fine. After multiple attempts to contact Lennox support I have given up. You can call their main number but I have never been successfully transfered to "consumer tech support" after 3 attempts on 3 different days. Smartaway feature does not work properly on Android it would appear.. I am contemplating testing with an Apple device just to see.. UPDATE - Hey Lennox, will this app ever work properly with Android 7? Since my phone updated to 7 this has been completely useless. 11K for a brand new Lennox setup which won't work 100% properly unless you use THEIR thermostat, yet they don't keep their technology up to date.

Utter garbage. 2nd time app refuses to work with my system. Claims my system is offline which my thermostat claims is BS. Last time required a factory reset of my smart hub. If the Nest worked like a communicating thermostat I'd switch today. I never thought purchasing the top AC and furnace would come with so much regret. If you expect to get a Lennox system and use their app. Forget it. Buy a cheaper system and get a Nest. When Lennox figures out we are tired of their unusable crap, I'll let you know.

Not sure why users are having so many issues but I've been fortunate enough to have only experienced minor glitches here and there. We have checked the status and changed settings while in Europe and on cruise ships with someone at home and the readings on the app reflect what is displayed on the S30 in our home. So far so good. Cheers

D70%
by D####:

Works great when it connects but just having it installed will consume 12% of your battery once you've started it the first time, killing all apps doesn't work. If I don't connect for a while it will show the thermostat offline to which it then becomes just a battery consumption tool. Please fix the app, I really enjoy the remote control capabilities.

D70%
by D####:

An energy hog - on my phone that is. The app seems to work OK, and the user interface is fine, but even if I never open it up at all, it just sits there consuming battery power from my Android 6 phone. In one day, it used 12% of the entire available battery charge, while all the other apps combined running in the background used less than half that much. So that makes this app an energy hog.

D70%
by D####:

Only occasionally works to set temperature. Setting heating schedule does not work because the settings revert every few seconds.

D70%
by D####:

Constantly does not display thermostat information and when you adjust temperatures sometimes it just resets it back what it was before. I have to force close app and open again to make adjustments

Never have issues, even after a year. Connectivity with my dual i30 setup is perfect. I wish there was more integration options for 3rd parties, but it's getting there!

I've noticed this app improved launch times with the version prior to this. This new version continued to improve and is working flawlessly on my tablet. It's informative and useful.

Very fluent app. It must be upgraded a lot from what others are comenting. It works great as per 07 Dec 2016.

D70%

Works fine for me,but nothing like the nest as promised

I70%

Two things need work. The speed of updates to the system via this app. And the other one reduce the data usage. I've had the app for a few days and it's eaten up 300 megs of data in the background.

D70%
by D####:

Overall the app works nicely. Had some issue with programming schedules. FEATURE REQUEST: I wish Smart Away could link a specific phone to a specific zone. My wife could get the master bedroom, while I have my office, and the kids their rooms.

I comfort Ac system is great - but as far as remote controlling on a smartphone goes it was awful in the beginning. Apparently all the bad reviews made things move ahead at Lennox.works very well since update. Now we have all the functionality within seconds at our fingertips. Good job gentlemen.

U70%
by U####:

After an update, there connectivity issues seem to have been resolved. Now has very good functionality. Old review follows... Takes an incredibly long time to open. Once it's open, it takes another incredibly long time to communicate changes to the thermostat. If Lennox fixes the connectivity issues, this may be a nice app. Until then, it is very very inconvenient.

U70%
by U####:

Most issues reported revolve around house WiFi issues (slow response, unresponsive, lockup etc...) or device GPS issues (many devices do not update their GPS status to other apps if battery saving is on, if a precise fix cannot be attained, if app policies do not provide access, etc...) I have used it for three weeks now and it works perfectly and the response time is sub second. I will report back in if there is a change in the next couple of months.

U70%
by U####:

Updated review: as others have noted, as a result of the recent upgrade, the app now works. So I'm going from 1 star to 3 stars. However, it's hard to get excited about the app (or the thermostat). It's still a long way behind something like the ecobee when it comes to usability and design. Initial Review Unusable app. Buggy. Slow. Embarrassing.

After 6 months of frustration, this version finally seems to be working for me.
