LEGO® BOOST for Android
I can't connect the hub with my Nexus 9 tablet
Can't even get the move hub going without a pin code to sync Bluetooth. Can't even start the build without it. Very disappointed. Not sure where to go from here.
UPDATE 8/14/17: I finally found a tablet that's compatible, though it doesn't have the full 1.4 Mhz processor recommended. The main downside to this app is the severe restriction on compatible devices. So far the app is running smoothly though there is a lag when dragging the programming tiles. The previous issue with the other tablet looks like it was Bluetooth 4.0 instead of 4.1. ORIGINAL 8/9/17: I just bought a new Visual Land tablet just for this app & Lego set. It meets all the specs as far as I can tell. The app doesn't take me any farther than trying to connect to the Move Hub and it's likely an issue with the Bluetooth connection asking for a PIN. Please provide a PIN for the Move Hub connection.
Can't PAIR devices WITHOUT PIN ON Samsung tab s2 - i contacted samsung support and tablet should see if the device require ping on not. I got the same issue on s7 and s3 with diffrent android version. The problem looks to be related that i didnt allow everything (even location) at start.... really bad implementation of application, you have to allow all access connect devices and then limit access. So Bluetooth magically works then. Solution for all people who like private part be private - but not for this app.
Kit great but some improvements needed. 1 Zoom on instructions 2 bypass locked areas 3 disconnect from hub when following instructions to save batteries 4 how can i program something that isn't one of the five included kits and customise the sensors?
I have a BQ Aquaris M10 Android 6.0 tablet, Bluetooth 4.1, 10" Full HD, 2GB RAM, cameras and microphone of course... all the specs that are listed as requirements. Yet the app just refuses to start with a "your device is not compatible" message (no exact reason given). The kids and I are very disappointed, we can't even get the instructions to build the models! C'mmon, a "fallback" to at least get to do something with the bricks should have been there since day one! Update : 1.0.11 and still the same...
It's in french and have no idea how it works
Language defaults to French in Canada, even though system language is set to English. Seems like basic software QA was skipped? I'm using Samsung Galaxy Tab A with Android 6 (supposedly on the tested list). Until fixed, I will have to hold off giving my kids the set, to avoid disappointment.
The app is unusable on any of my three tablets. On one Pixel C the distance sensor behaves as if it is always active (e.g., in the second intro exercise the motors always move). On another Pixel C and Nvidia shield tablet, the program gets stuck and refuses to move forward to another block. Funnily, this works fine on the other Pixel. I hope this gets resolved soon.
Installed and stuck at turning on the Move Hub! My pixel C tablet won't connect via Bluetooth, even when try the typical passcode or passkey 0000 or 1234. Even tried on my Pixel phone, same error. How can the app and Lego box come without proper set of instructions to even get started. My daughter has unhappy and isn't bothering with this, waste of over £100 if you ask me.
Everything was working fine until we got to the Vernie sections that use the sensor. For whatever reason, the sensor doesn't work, so we can't interact with the robot at all. Very disappointing. Not sure if it's an app issue or not.
1.0.2 has fixed the instructions issue but the light/distance sensor no longer functions: in the second test program it thinks I am constantly waving in front of it.
Update 1.0.2 - The Robot instructions are fixed now the rest of the app is broken :( Coding sequences no longer flow one to the next, Pretty much any instruction for forward and backward is broken. These worked in 1.0.1 ~~ The thing with the wrong instructions is such a obvious error that never should have happened. ~~ Finally figured out you must have location turned on to be able to pair it. ~~ I hope they release the building instructions in written (digital download would be fine) form, like every other lego set on the planet, because otherwise if anything goes wrong with your tablet like the battery needing charged, you can't even just build one of the models. ~~ I really don't like that you can't get to the next sections of building instructions unless you unlock them by completing certain coding tasks, that requires a Bluetooth connection to a device with location services active. ~~ I understand the flow of the whole app and it all makes perfect sense but, nothing should be "locked" behind "give us your location or your purchase is useless".
After 4 download and initialization attempts, the app opens and is in French (possibly due to my location -canada?). The language cannot be changed because I am also unable to use the settings button in the top right corner nor am I able to close the video bar on the left side of the screen due to the 'X' being non functional. Using Nexus 9.
Cannot update firmware, it goes through the motions then nothing, keeps taking me back to the update area again and again. It's going back to Argos.
I am using app on Pixel C. App did connect with hub, but then after it doesnt proceed further from "connecting" screen. It doesnt register connection. Very frustruating. Now Toy'R US says they wont accept open box return. Wasted $170.
App will open then keep crashing. Doesn't work :(
Just bought this for my son. Can't run app as tablet only has 512MB memory! Can't even build models as instructions only on app.
Need the ability too pinch to zoom for instructions. It's not obvious the robot is the second build
Currently the Robot instructions are linked to the Truck instruction making one build not possible =( outside of that and the Bag numbers not being used the app is very intuitive and fun to play with.
Downloaded it multiple times and wouldn't stay on the device

I got a Nexus 9 just for the app to install. I was initially confused because the app connects to the hub without using the Android Bluetooth controls (those fail because they ask for a password). Also the hub is connected only when the robot is built. I was confused that the settings menu didn't allow for a connection. Other than that it works well in the end. Note: our Asus 302 Chromebook in Dev channel with play store can now connect without a glitch to the hub and operate it. So the Nexus 9 would have been unnecessary in the end. It only works since the latest Chromebook os update that came out on August 10. The hub requires Bluetooth 4.1 so it will only works with newer Chromebooks.
