Some Halloween facts that you may want to know:
Halloween is one of the biggest celebrations days in United States, is a yearly holiday observed around the world on October 31. This day is special and kind of very funny, because they wear many different and crazy customs and even though we don’t have the Halloween in my home town and I always wonder how the idea of Halloween started. But I enjoy it here with my friends. We go out and we do parties, doesn’t matter to any difference between our traditions or religion. In this day a lot of things happen and there are a lot of activities to do even if you are adult or kid.
I wonder how the idea of Halloween even started! Too many theories have been tossed around but there should be a reason why it started. I recently found out that it was a custom of the Romans that had been passed down to this generation. Apparently, they worshipped Samhain, lord of the dead. They believed that the night before October 31st, he called together wicked souls or evil spirits and believed that they would harm them if they didn’t please Samhain! I guess this all explains cats, witches, and ghosts on Halloween.
Since I moved to United States I have seen two days of Halloween, I have attended to Halloween parties with my friends, but I never bought special customs for this night. I would like to wear them because they are traditionally modeled after supernatural figures such as monsters, ghosts, skeletons, witches, and devils. Over time, the costume selection extended to include popular characters from fiction, celebrities, and generic archetypes such as ninjas and princesses. Costuming became popular for Halloween parties in United States and I think in all the countries who celebrate this day, and that’s would everybody do before Halloween is to pick a special custom for this special night.
Also, Ghost and Goblins, carved pumpkins, flying witches and lots of candy has become a once a year tradition. Black and orange decorations, black cats and spiders decorate houses and classrooms all over the country as children dress up as their favorite character and march collecting their reward. Halloween is also a day to scare people so they scream their hearts out. To be dressed in black in the dark and pop out of no where. You could also put on a show about you acting like the person your dressed as. And the most interesting thing that in the Halloween you’ll never get hungry, because you can go trick-or-treating and get a lot of candy, and this is the best part for children.
Overall, Halloween is more than a holiday, it is a week-long celebration that brings joy to those who celebrate it around you. In addition, Halloween is a festive, fun holiday where anybody of all ages can dress up, carve pumpkins, go to haunted houses, commit pranks, and tell frightening ghost stories. that’s the reason of the Halloween is the most important and special celebration day in the United States.
