JuiceDefender Ultimate for Android
This is an extraordinarily useful app. The free/trial version was one of the first that I loaded onto my shiny new Samsung Galaxy S III. Then it became one of a VERY SMALL handful of security/utility apps that I left on my device and continued to use. It quickly became obvious that upgrading to the fully-paid version would be worthwhile. Itwas the first app that I chose to purchase at the full version, and I haven't been sorry yet. I keep it running and operating 100% of the time. Very highly recommended!
My galaxy s3 is a battery hog. I would consider myself a minimal-moderate user (ie 1-2 hours of screen time a day) and the battery would only last me around 7-9 hours depending. With juice defender I can now go 20-25 hours on a charge. It doesn't help the battery when you're using the phone but it preserves it when in standby mode. Great app that let's me feel comfortable that my phone will make it through the day
Started with free version, now upgraded to top version. So far worth every penny. My brand new Galaxy SII was shocking for battery usage. JD has made HUGE difference in first day and it's still learning! Huge tinkering options under the hood if you like too. This is how apps should be!
For casual users Juice Defender Free edition will yield 1.45 multiplier an advanced power user (like me) can use Juice Defender Ultimate for 2.23 battery multiplier. Makes my device go all day under heavy use. Amazing app, best one I have ever bought. Learn it, use it, it will amaze!
I realize this is not the Dev's fault, and this is really a 5 star app! I just wanted to make this issue known so you guys can fix it. I miss being able to use it so much! I loved being able to control exactly how/when my phone connects. Please find a way around Android's nonsense! *Samsung Note 4*
I've tried many battery save , but this one is the best! The only batt saving apps that actually made my nexus 4 lasted for one day (20 hours) or even more! My father used the plus(without root feature) and it was more than enough for him.. Even better with the ultimate!
From when I disconnect my phone from its charger in the morning until I get home from work, it's about 12 hours. That's what I require from my battery; I don't want to be required to charge it at work. At the same time, I don't want to have to disable every feature of my phone to make it through the day. With JD, rather than making it 10 hours before red-lining, I can leave work after 12 hours and still have 25-30% left. Upgrading to Ultimate is worth every penny! Excellent work guys.
By far the best power management I have used so far. I especially like the wifi hotspot on/off settings (and it allows me to tweak the area range, without enabling the power-hog GPS). Well worth its price for the full version. Best if you root your phone to allow some of the more refine settings. Small details do make a difference.
This app is not simple if you decide to go for maximum benefit and customize the advanced settings. But as long as you read the help file, you'll be fine. Also, give it a week to learn your style and networks. I didn't see maximum battery life for abouta week. Even with a Droid Razr Max, I couldn't get a whole day of 4g usage until I got this. Now get about 10 hours if heavy 4g usage. This app is great. Glad I bought the ultimate.
I'm currently running Pacman ROM (most current nightly) with leankernel and also using juice defender ultimate. I have had my phone off the charger for 17 hours and have some pretty heavy usage, and still only down to 44%. This is because of everything combined, but juice defender plays a huge part in keeping my phone alive throughout the day. A+ app and I'm happy to have paid for it.
Amazing!!! Took about an hour to set up correctly and then a week or two for it to get settle in. Where I used to get a days worth of average use, I can now squeeze 3 DAYS without a single charge. Not so good if phone used constantly. Still, more battery power on a smart phone is something we all need. Pay the $, it's ruddy worth it!
Juice Defender Ultimate is amazing. It's worth at LEAST the price of one replacement battery. The same phone that lasted a mere 3-4 hours goes as long as a day and a half now. This phone wouldn't work for me if it weren't for Juice Defender. The more powerful your device, the more you need this. The best part is per-app connectivity settings so you can prevent certain battery draining apps from checking their servers too often.
Ten star app people.... Lets put it this way. This is my second review cuz I love it so much. I use this app on my sony.vizio tablet as well. All I can say is I have no house phone, my job is my phone so I put this phone to use and juice defender ultimate always saves' my battery x3 an thats just with basic settings. I have yet to need to even customize profile yet. Great work guys. if its even possible.i hope another.app from u guys come out. Thanks alot.
It certainly extend the battery life of my Galaxy Note and I can squeeze a little more juice if this app would allow us to turn off all radio signals (eg. WiFi) at our own time (eg. after 10pm) rather a rigid time frame start from 12am. The auto-connect to WiFi by location doesn't work sometimes. I'll give it 4 stars if these two issues are iron out and a perfect 5 for a more comprehensive guide to an optimum settings with good examples.
Ok, so my Samsung Galaxy2 was urking me bc no matter how charged the battery was when i grabbed it off the charger it was dead two hours...i was running out of options & had restored my phone for the last time...i searched one last time for a great battery app & task killer...BOOM! I do not write reviews but i read them...somebody said they had my phone and installed both juice defender & watchdog...smh...my battery life stays in the 90s all day while playing music & watching movies! Both cost @ $5!
Out of the box the galaxy 2 battery sucks. after 5 hours off the charger my battery would be at 69% and thats from just checking the time. now since i have got this app my phone lasts up to 15 hours with heavy use. just make sure you toggle the settings so it can work properly. Over all this app saves me 30% battery life.
.... To realize JD is the best battery saver app for Gingerbread stock ROM devices. Tried all the other battery saver apps and tweaks available over a period of time and no doubt there are some good ones out there, but JD Ultimate is a grade above the rest. It is also super customizable to saving power without compromising your unique usage patterns. That's when I bought the paid version. Don't think twice...just get the Juice now!!!
Several different profiles available, plus unlimited customization of options PER APP if you really want to get serious about it. Or just have fun like me. Biggest issue so far: turns off music and interrupts downloads when screen turns off for a while. FIXED: added Google Music to a custom 'let this app keep the connection alive even if the screen is off.' I highly recommend this app to anyone looking for a few more hours between having to recharge.
Had this app on the HTC EVO 4G before and now I'm using it on the galaxy s III. Its hugely kept my evo alive to an amazing 2-3 days depending what I used it for. And used with this galaxy is insane! I get 3 days use with just talk, text, internet browsing and still have 50% left. Best 5 bucks I've spent in a while!
It is a great bit of software. What I luv is how it controls the screen light. Can't explain in detail without a book to write in but the eh fact is I can go nearly 3 days on a single charge. Evo 3d battery the original battery. Don't believe me? Try and experiment with the settings till u find the right one for you. My battery used to last half a day with moderate usage. The dev are also very supportive and overall very kind.
In unrooted phones it is killed by the system. So 80% of time it's not working. However, with root, you can put it in RAM permanently and it will be always on. Currently it shows that it prolonged battery life x3.93 !!! Without the tweak it is almost useless. If you have root, go into build.prop and add line to keep it in RAM: sys.keep_app_1=com.latedroid.ultimatejuice
Juice Defender is a well thought out battery saver. The more drastically you need to conserve energy JD offers a more appropiate mode. Five modes are offered balanced, aggressive, extreme, customized and advanced. Tutorials, videos and forums are available however, you can change the settings so that they give an explanation for each one. I have been using J.D for ~ 4 years and Ultimate for ~ 3 years. My phone (currently) is a Galaxy S III and is in heavy use from morning until late at night. Battery def
For the last few months the app won't install when booting up. Even the Boot Workaround option in the Help area doesn't work. When I open the app it says that the phone is not rooted (true), the AOSP is outdated and normal installation isn't possible for 2.3+ (Gingerbread). Then it tries a force installation of AOSP Helper. Worked for a day after the ICS update and then stopped.
I've used the paid version of this app for a while and will definitely continue to use it. It has an incredible number of options and settings to cater to my exact preferences. Wi-Fi location learning is awesome. Definitely try it, with the tiny price. My phone has idled for hours with only 5% battery, which has saved my butt more than a few times.
I have Samsung Galaxy S2. In order to receive full benefits of juicedefender. You need to install the beta version, and then this Ultimate version on top of it. Using Badass Battery Monitor I located what uses battery. With JD Beta, I adjusted the kernel to Conservative. Now my phone uses 3% battery in 15 hours. Making battery last 20 days with one charge. Does your SGS2 last 20 days in one charge? Probably not, gotto be a nerd to tweak it that far.
This app is an amazing battery saver. I average about 1.5-2.1 times my standard battery life, but I'm also a big "texter". If i barely use my phone i can get up to 3.2ish battery life. The free version is good for a free app, but where this app really shines is when you buy the ultimate upgrade. I haven't even bothered buying the plus upgrade, so I can't speak for that one.
Its not bad but I dont see much difference yet even after I got the paid ultimate version. May be in future it will slowly start showing major differences but not till now. Is it worth? Yes! It slowly works. Could take days. Is it better than normal battery saver? Absolutely Yea!
I use my hot spot a lot and it has no setting to allow the Hotspot to override the wifi switch.. It just keeps trying to turn on wifi only to have a pop up I have to cancel every few seconds. It makes me disable the app, please fix or let me know what settings need to be adjusted.
Im a phone salesman and deal with battery complaints all the time. I tried jd ultimate on advanced settings and with enough tweaking managed to increase my battery from 1.99 to 2.14 times expected and its no joke. On a galaxy s2 thats is usually acclaimed as a power guzzler. I take it off the charger at 8 and it will be at half around 9 pm to last for those late evenings. Takes a good android savvy person to use but well worth the money and effort to set it up. Superb.
This really is the best applications if you want to prolong the daily use of your new android phone. Forget all of those task killers - the really battery draining apps will just start up again five minutes later. This will ensure that only those processes YOU have specified will run, and your phone won't run out of juice on you again!
There's simply no reason to not have this installed on any smart phone. The ultimate (paid) version is leaps and bounds better than the free version. This app just does exactly what it's supposed to. Learns from your own energy conserving habits and frequently traveled areas, keeps your battery alive nearly twice as long. I've been using it about 2 years and I have very few minor complaints about the app. For what it provides, I honestly would have been willing to pay more than they asked for.
This application is very simple and easy to use for most people. This has saved me numerous close calls with my battery on both my Samsung GS5 and my first Droid Turbo. The charming little icon always reminds you that it's there and constantly tries to save you battery. I think the greatest part is that you can always use one of the presets or make your own
Lots of great choices, from the basic control where it chooses settings for you, all the way to advanced where you choose every setting. But even advanced can be navigated by the novice, w/ a cool manual/site online by another user, detailing every setting. It's only missing the setting that can notify you of full battery when charging. But helps save battery by shutting down things you don't need when you're not using them (shuts WiFi off when you're not near WiFi, which most people don't know to turn off.
At first I was sceptical but after loading the free version I noticed this was working as by the end of the day using my Galaxy s 3 my battery still had 25 percent where before it would be around 10 percent so I paid the 4.50 and now Im seeing 65 percent. Remember to reboot your phone after installing as I did not a first and noticed my texting did not work but all is good now. Very happy
It works and can greatly improve battery life, however, at the cost of performance if you unlock your phone at regular intervals. At least this is the issue I experience on my Razr. Every time I unlock my phone the app reactivates my service and laaaaaaaaag, nothing works for well over 30 seconds to minutes at a time! I would rather travel with a charger all the time and have my phone available right when I need it, than use this app. I'm sure it's just Motorola, but still it's an issue when using this app.
Works Great! Does what it says it does. Ultimate upgade is awesome, but is for more tech savvy experienced Droid users... Lots of settings, options, and customizations. Works great! Saves lots of battery. Also saves money by controling unnecessary data usage. you wouldn't believe how much unnecessary data usage goes on when you're not even using your phone!!! it allows you to control which apps can access data. you can control when, how often, and how long they can access data when your phone is idle, or in use. you can even further customize it by setting up schedules to use different settings at different times and in different situations. Then is all automatic!
Well worth it when properly configured you can get awesome battery life. I have made phone calls, checked emails, and browsed the web. As I type this review my battery is at 92%. It has been off the charger for about 8 hours. The key to it doing so good is proper configuration though. It took me about 3 days to get all the kinks worked out. Great app.
Absolutely amazing. My Galaxy Note can go for days without a recharge now. With balanced settings it's over doubling my battery life. Seems to have a smallish issue not turning Wi-Fi back on immediately when available, but that's nothing. The best app I've ever bought and probably will ever buy!

I have been using Juice Defender free and upgraded to the paid version a week ago. It is well worth the money. I have noticed a dramatic increase in battery life. Works seamlessly. Only small side effect is my weather widget doesn't update automatically. I don't care about that everything else is great emails, texts, other applications that give real time information all worked perfectly. Thanks so much juice defender ultimate. 1.74 x battery life
