JuiceDefender Plus for Android
This prog has helped extend the use of my S3 for hours. My battery now lasts almost 24 hours and then some. Without it, my battery was dropping fast into the 40% range in 4 hours; it doesn't drop that low now till the 6 or 7 hour mark gradually. This gauge is with the usual 3-5 hour talking, texting over 50-60 texts a day, and surfing the Internet on rough average. I'm satisfied with this product.
free version: I put the the thing on balanced mode and it never worked. the battery went dead in about 4 hours. bought the plus version and works great. now my battery is behaving! Thank you JD team. only thing mising > shutdown option on low battery with user configurable battery limit (xx%)
Well conceived, with many hidden bits of well thought out rules and tweaks. This app has impressed me more as I use it more. Take time to read the documentation and understand its operation. I found the 2x1 widget informative on the current state and battery savings. I am happy to have paid for the mid-grade version, though the basic settings of the free version seem more than adequate most my needs almost all the time. Keep up the good work, folks.
I bought this app because my data connection gets stale and has to be googled off and on again before I'll get any data back. I wanted something that would automatically turn data off and then on again when the screen was active, but not turn off data if it was in use. The battery savings was just a plus. This app is everything I hoped for and more! Easy to use, and works very well. Go for either plus or ultimate. You won't be disappointed!
Had the free version but had to upgrade to really save my battery. The only complaint is that the apps I've configured as "disable" don't seem to be disabled. Still give it four stars but ever since one of the many updates Samsung issued for my Verizon GS4 (I forget which one), the location Wi-Fi disable and the night mode features don't seem to be working.
This program does what it says it does and more! My phone, the LG Spectrum, has an awful battery. On a full charge and with only 5 hours of up time, it was dead by 6:00PM. After downloading juice defender, I got more than twice the battery power. Its so easy to use and works like a charm, especially when comparing it to its competitors like Power Manager. The free version packs a lot of great tools, but I recommend upgrading to at least plus.
I got the paid version because I wanted to customize which apps can connect and which can't. Warning: this feature doesn't quite work the way i expected. If you open an allowed app, then all apps -including those that you specified as 'do not connect'- CAN and WILL connect in the background. So you're probably good with the free version. It doubles my battery time on the default setting (advanced features didn't make it any better.)
Samsung Galaxy S3 went from 6hrs battery life to lasting all day. Increased battery life 2.32x! Turned off phone's auto brightness, set display to zero, then set JD so it adjusts brightness. Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Still working well. Keeps aggressive apps from killing my battery. UI helps me know what each setting does and if I need to use them.

I loved Galaxy Nexus except its power usage. JD saved the day for me. It beautifully and automatically manipulates low-level code to regulate battery use for optimum performance. Even with no customization and standard settings (Balanced, Aggressive and Extreme), I can easily go for a day on a single charge. Thank you JD.
I love this app for what it does, but I ran into trouble using it with my PadPhone. It shuts the service when I plug it in the PadFone Station which is quite inconvenient. I know there are not many people using this set, but it kind of defeats the purpose of using it for me. Otherwise the app is worth 5 starts. UPDATE: I just needed to check "Keep Alive after Dynamic Switch" from ASUS specific settings. No issues anymore, awesome app
I would not complain about a free app, but one I paid for yes I will! I have used JD+ for years and stand by its value. I have tried them all and nothing comes close. However the lack of updates is killing it. I switched to a 4.3 ROM and love it. But this app does not support it. We're talking about the future of Android, not just Nexus devices. How many like me are running custom ROMs? Update please!
Juice defender has been helping me save battery eversince I first installed the free version and then purchased juice defender plus. However recently I installed go locker and the app connects to the internet everytime I unlock my phone. It seems the app doesnt play nice with anything other than the stock locker. Hope the devs can fix this amd support custom lockers
This really is an excellent app well worth the money but it will not work on my new phone. Worked fantastic on my S4. I have an S5 now and it will not load just keeps crashing. Any help would be appreciated. Do I need to root my phone or is this app no longer supported? I was going to buy ultimate but thinking it won't work either. I have sent several logs but no response. If this is still a working app any help from support would be greatly appreciated.
This is an amazing app - a bit hard to learn and understand all the features at the beginning but the developer's website is very well written and provided all the information on how to utilise this app. Get this app if you want to save battery life. My phone went from not lasting a day to almost two days. Highly recommended and money well spent!
Kindly give option to run the "schedule" of mobile data toggle even when the screen is on. Like when I read books on kindle or google play books I need long battery backup but also want an automatic schedule to ping and recieve chat and other messages. KINDLY respond if that option is there already. Thanks. P.S.- I understand now, I need to disable the "screen" in triggers options for that. Problem solved.
This apparently does what it says and does a really good job at it. But sometimes it doesn't always work properly. For instance while watching a video on my phone's player it turns off my wifi after a short time because it doesn't realize I'm actually still streaming the video. Also, sometimes it turns itself off for no apparent reason.
Edit: Updating to Lollipop on my Note 4 seems to have broken the ability to contol mobile data. The setting can't be toggled to enable. Hoping it gets fixed because I noticed I get notifications throughout the night. I used to love using this to automatically turn my data off at night so it saves battery and I don't have to hear notifications.
Purchased the plus version for the wifi controls and to be able to pick my sync schedule. With my custom settings I get over a day with light use, and about 18 to 20 hours with moderate use. Heavy use is basically the same as not having this app because your data will still be connected while the screen is on. Also, the app does not interfere with bluetooth connectivity.
This app has saved my battery, it lasts the day now. Only problem is it is hard to reenable automatic Wi-Fi agree having toggled it manually; you have to restart the app. I also wish the developer would update the app; it's been a year or more since the last update
I am able to get a full days use out of my phone with half a battery leftover. Update: accidentally turned off juice defender for the day. I was out of battery by 3:00. I didn't know what was going on. It's easy to forget how much JD is doing in the background until you run without it for the day. Great product!
I charged my Galaxy S II nightly when I slept, until I bought this app 2 days ago. I have not charged my phone at night since and I now have 79% battery charge! The only time my phone has been charged is in the car dock while I drive. It also seems to get a faster charge since using this app. I drive an hour and get 12-15% charge. This is a fantastic app! It has completely changed my GS2 from a battery hog to a battery miser without altering the Android experience. This is a must have app for all Android devices. It has completely eliminated the only negative of owning an Android.
This has greatly improved my battery life! I got my galaxy s3 about 4 months ago and was always able to go at least 24 hours on a charge with average use, but over the last month that declined to like half a day if that before I'd have to charge again. I've downloaded battery booster and monitoring apps, just to not find an answer as to why. The only thing I can link it to is the jellybean update! This app turns off the data when the screen is off and turns on every 15 mins for notifications- perfect!
Paid for premium, loved it, then realized it wasn't running on lollipop 5.0. Keep trying to force enable but it runs into an error and kills itself. Already paid for the premium, had I known they would only maintain ultra I wouldn't have wasted my money. Sorely disappointed, enjoyed supporting this app. Have since found a free app with much better UI and more reliable functionality. Bye bye juice defender.
I took the plunge and made Juice Defender Plus my first mobile application purchase ever. This app was $0.99, 50% off, which seemed like a very reasonable price. The user interface could use some cleaning and neatening up, but it is navigable. This application has proven to be essential for my Galaxy SII LTE and I am happy with the features in the "plus" version. The "ultimate" version has many more features but I can't justify the price. I average 13.75 hours of battery life to 10% battery, manageable.
It actually works. From what the app tells me, it multiplied my battery by 1.6 in two days. I use my phone a lot, playing games and surfing the net plenty, and I would be lucky to get through the day with any charge at all. Now I've been finishing the day with 30 to 40 percent charge. It's really amazing. Be sure to get plus.
Does as it says, prior to downloading it, my Galaxy S2 battery was truly pathetic. Now it lasts at least 1.7x longer than before (on average). Doesn't sound that much, but makes all the difference. Four stars only as it does crash from time to time and occasionally locks out my wifi to the point where a restart is needed, but can't really fault it for anything else. Great app, recommend it to everyone.
I bought juice defender plus a while ago. Just reinstalled it on my Samsung Galaxy s4 and it doesn't work. It won't start up, it's just taking up space while doing nothing for my phone. I was happy with the app, it wasn't intrusive, and it did exactly what I wanted it to do. As far as I can tell, it doesn't want to work on my phone because it's not rooted... I either want it to work or I want my money back. 5 stars otherwise. Been 10 days, no feedback, still doesn't work, deleting app...
This was an excellent app to extend my battery life, but since kitkat all went wrong. Need to restart the g pad everytime i want to use wifi(pretty much always), otherwise it doesn't connect. Please fix and let me know. With moto g its still fine.
Was working satisfactorily before I updated my phone to Jelly Bean 4.3. Now it just won't work at all. In fact now it seems to drain the battery even faster. I have it disabled currently till I get an update. But if it takes too long I will just have to uninstall this app. Not working after I updated my S4 to JB4.3 ???? Need an update urgently.
I am quite impressed with this app. Takes some time to setup and get used to, but it really works. It extends the battery life for times when the phone is not in use quite a lot. Now I can make it through the work day without plugging in. Samsung vibrant running MIUI.
Says its saving me battery. And it appears to be. So I paid for the upgrade. Recommend. After a few weeks use I disabled it to check its savings. App says 2x better but over a days use I actually used about 10-12% more with it disabled. Still recommend it but take savings with a pinch of salt.
After installing this on my wife's GS3 and my Droid DNA, we were getting through the day with power to spare... Before that, midday charge was a necessity. This product does what a phone's power settings should arguably do on its default settings. Great app!
I accidentally gave this app a really good test. Knowing my daily talk time would increase greatly as I dropped my land line, I upgraded from the free version to Plus to get a little more help with the battery drain. Thinking that I no longer needed the free version, I deleted it from my Droid Razr. My phone stopped making through the day-- by mid-afternoon I was getting low battery warnings. I attributed this the increased voice use. After a few days, a little investigation revealed that JuiceDefender Plus is an add-on to the free version, and relies on it to work. After reinstalling the free program, I'm getting 16 hours of use with 40% to 50% left on the battery, even with the increased talk time.
I haven't had enough time to fully review it, however I tested that all the features work and indeed they do. It is surprisingly accurate at telling my location for wifi profiles. My phone's been dying by lunchtime every day after being unplugged in the morning. I did some testing and let it charge before bed and let it rest overnight. Lost 20% of battery overnight. The next night I turned off wifi and data and fully charged it before bed again. This time it used... 1% Looking forward to seeing the results
Since android update to 5.0 juice defender continuously shuts down. Needs an update. I've used this app for years but cannot anymore.
This app used to be one of the best apps out there, period. But it has not been updated in over 3 years and will not work with most phones running a modern android OS. I hope one day juicedefender rises from the dead to save us all, but for now, it is useless.
The app does work very well as it has nicely reduced the battery drain (Android 4.4.2). Unfortunately, I wish I could say the same for contacting them for possible issues or queries. The tag for support and suggestions just takes you to a blank page with one box advertising voice Web pages or something. Finding an email is like searching for gold. UPDATE: Unfortunately they don't exist anymore. The last words were in early 2013, so please be warned. It's hard to say therefore, if I recommend this app.
It used to be great but now android won't let it launch since the new update. Considering you have to pay for this it is ridiculously undermaintained.

Mike, Moto e running 5.1 I've purchased the Ultimate version of this app and this version, for 2 phones on android 4.4.4 with different gmail accounts. Both versions worked really well & were reporting 2.08x battery life saving, also i was charging my phone less often, so was saving a lot of money on the electric bill. So is the app price price worth it? YES, it paid for itself quickly. But, now it doesn't seem to run on android 5.1 and doesn't seem to have been updated, that's a shame.
