Land Rover InControl Remote

It's shocking to me how horrible this app is. Location of vehicle seems to be reliable on most occasions but trips and remote start hardly ever work. When they do work, they are painfully slow. And the need to re-enter you login info so frequently and sporadically, is a total pain!

App does not work 90 percent of the time. Location of the car works all the time. Status of the car of whether the car is locked or trunk is open doesn't work well. Cannot connect to the car most of the time saying poor coverage which is not true. I am trying to see if it is an app problem and wait for the update but it seems like it is not coming. Starting car never works. I closed the app completely and log in again to see if that makes it work but nothing seems to work well.

It's amazing how consistent all of the reviews are. This app is TERRIBLE. You cannot start the car most of the time. You cannot lock your car most of the time. It often crashes. Sometimes the car starts but the app tells you it didn't. The app is a great idea but it was executed horribly. Given the cost of the car and these bad reviews that Lan Rover would do something about it. This is a HUGE embarrassment.

Came back to lower my rating from 2 to 1 star. - 26 and I can't start my vehicle. "Network delay" and "an error has occurred" . Just when I think you've fixed it with an update, it comes back even worse. I paid a premium for this vehicle. I should be able to remote start it. Hate hate hate this app.

Most of the app works ok, can be slow updating at times. However, I rarely can get to remote start to work, which to me is the most important part of the app to me. I would say about 95% of the time I try to use remote start, I get that there was either an error or delay with the network. It doesn't matter if my phone is connected to WiFi or mobile data, I still get the same results. The app developer and land Rover need to get together and fix this problem. This is very frustrating!!

Absolutely abismal app. It doesn't work half the time. It has to be off Wi-Fi for it to even try to work which is beyond ridiculous. The app crashes more than it works and I'm beyond frustrated with it. You'd think with such high end vehicles they could actually create an app that works or even listen to the HUNDREDS of people who have problems with it!!!! What a joke. It's been a few months with this car and I'm ready to return it because of the awful app. I'm so irritated with it not working that it's not worth me keeping the car or ever driving a Landrover again. Something needs to be done, listen to your customers!!!

When it works it's not bad. But it's so unreliable as to be near worthless. A particular irritation is how it logs you out and deletes your info, so you have to start again with your details. Not good enough for an app to be used with very expensive cars.

90 grand for a car, and it comes with a great idea for an app, but unfortunately executed by amateurs. Rarely works to start the car. One of the reasons I chose Land Rover is that it has the remote start feature for my cold climate - I'm starting to regret my decision to go with Land Rover instead of another, better engineered car.

Pathetic! 90% of the time it will not start my car remotely, regardless if I'm on Wi-Fi or full cell signal, I'm always getting errors. Land Rover Customer Support is equally as pathetic as they offer no help $130,000.00 for a POS, I regret switching from a Mercedes!

Clunky proprietary software which is good in concept but exceptionally poor in implementation. Rarely responds or works as intended. Useless as a result, leaving me anything but InControl! Please just start using user software developed by experts, eg Android Auto!

Setup is painful! Reading/accepting "terms and privacy" is mandatory and is no simple feat! Total B.S.!!!! VERY few owners will subject themselves to this abuse. If you somehow succeed, prepare yourself for the vehicle setup. Again.....WAY beyond the patience/technological level of 99% of buyers. Total fail Land Rover.....

Vacant believe this is the only option for remote start. It never works for that functionality. Get to know where my car is parked, but other than day, pretty useless app. How about a remote start button on my fob, at least that would work

came back to make sure I rated it a 1. such a lag in locking/starting the car when it works at all. please just make a key fob auto start. then this could just be an alternate way to start the car if you're out of range

Horrible app. Basic graphics with minimal vehicle information. Vehicle start never works. And you have to log in always. Why cant they integrate the phone security feature with the app software. Horrible just like their vehicles.

Piece of garbage. App does not work. Absolute and utter disappointment. The fact that dealers sell the vehicle with remote start using this app is fraudulent. I will bet good money that the 5 star app ratings are by LR employees and are in fact fraudulent. After getting off the phone with my dealer, they finally admitted that the app does not work. Clearly, they are scripted to give you a line of, just drive it a few miles and it will work, we are in a dead zone here. The fact that there are no responses to all the negative reviews speaks volumes.

Horrible app. Hardly ever works. Can't get my car to start in negative degree weather. Such a joke for the price you pay for the car!

It's pathetic. It crashes. It tells me my cars parked hundred meters from where it is. It won't update when opened. It keeps telling me my cars unlocked or locked but not alarmed. Co.pllere waste of time.

No longer starts engine from app. Get an error every time saying a window is open. Windows always closed, and even shows all windows closed in the vehicle security section. Worked fine during the summer, now it's winter app stops.

I wish that it works. I would prefer a button on my FOB that would start the truck. Otherwise the app never works and the remote start is worthless.

Imagine spending close to $80,000 for a car, and now imagine downloading and using the app available for this car only to find out it was probably the worst app you've ever used before. That's sort of how its like.

I find the app works very well. Not sure why other reviews have experienced difficulties. It is sometimes slow to collect past vehicle trip data. Overall very useful.

You pay so much for a car and yet they can't make a simple remote start app??? Are you guys kidding me! My 17year old can make a better app then this trash. How can a company be this dumb....it's shocking to say the least.

Update.. Nov. 2017. Remote start has stopped working. Used to work half the time...which was not great but now never!!! I paid a lot for this car!! Get your act together! Add a refresh button!! Used to update at each reboot.... not anymore! Works well for me! 2016 Land Rover Disc Sport.

Worst app on earth. The developers should be fired and those that designed the app for Tesla should be hired to do a good job. This app sucks more than the San Francisco 49ers 2017 team.

My phone battery used to easily last a day but since installing this app I go from 100% to 15% by lunchtime! I want to use it but can't while it drains my battery so drastically

The actual car is 10 out of 10 - LOVE my Range Rover!! This app can be improved though. Everything including trip data, car location, car status, etc work great but remote start is questionable at best. 50% of the time it says "Network Delay" however I found a bypass to it (an extra step but at least it seems to do the trick) that makes it work all the time. I now unlock and then lock the car again and then use the remote start app and it works to start it every time. Annoying that I've got to do this but until the next update it at least works for the winter months. Fix this issue and it's golden!

It's a pity that the developers are too tired or too lazy to respond to these comments. Occasionally shows the route travelled and other times it just shows a straight line from start to end of the journey & other times fails to record the journey at all. Very unreliable. Used on 2018 rr sport. It's a pity the developers are too tired or lazy to reply to emails or criticism.

Terrible app. Shouldn't claim you have remote start when doesn't work

App is still broken. Don't waste your time downloading. Top 3 issues: 1. The vehicle status page only seems to update when I'm in the middle of exiting the vehicle (2017 Discovery). As a result, it almost always shows that the vehicle is unlocked and one of the doors is open. There doesn't appear to be any way to manually refresh vehicle status to reflect that the vehicle is locked and alarmed with all doors closed. 2. Remote climate works maybe 5% of the time. It gets stuck on "contacting vehicle" and them either nothing happens or the app displays an error message about "network delay". I've tried various times of day and ensured that my vehicle has full 3g reception to no avail. After about 10 unsuccessful attempts in a row I typically give up. 3. The app saves my user name and password but will randomly asks me to re-enter them without any explanation.

A lot of features promised to me doesn't work. Remote start, lock.... I'm lucky enough to be living in a state with lemon laws. Land rover will get 3 documented times to fix this before I let the lawyers deal with it. Seriously a horrible lack of tech we should take our reviews to the internet. I would not have bought my car because of this.

Disappointing effort Land Rover. You insult my inteligence. Chevy makes a better app.

Garbage. Waste a time. Dose not work 80% of the time. Sometime the car start by itself 15 min later with no indication that the car is running. Major liability for land rover. Shame. Developers and mangers should be fired. Try to copy gm on star. Shame on you.

Works ok when you learn the quirks. Far too unreliable and limited when you take into account you have just spent £70000 on a car.

Inaccurate part of the time but in 1 very important occasion I really needed it, it was spot on. Left my car parked in the city to hop in a cab to search for an ATM. Lost track of where my car was parked and thankfully this app proved useful.

Brand new range Rover. Felt Tata motors would make things more reliable. I agree with all other reviews, this app is indicator that tata cannot improve rovers dismal reputation. So why did i buy my first Rover, well, it happens to be my last as well.

This app ia absolutely horrific. It rarely starts and nver starts first thing in morning when its frightfully cold and i need it.

This new version does not have full functionality. Used to be able to lock and start the vehicle - new version doesn't work

Awful!! Works 50% of time at best. The worst!

It keeps an impressive record of all trips ever taken, including times and fuel efficiency. It's a bit slow though

SHOULD HAVE A FASTER REFRESH TIME! SHOULD BE ABLE TO SET ALARM WITH APP! The "contacting car " should be quicker( usually takes 2 minutes )
