La Crosse Alerts Mobile for Android
I've been using this system for a few years now. The old one which was web based and now the app. Finally took web based system down and "ATTEMPTED" to install on app system. Four hours into this and still no luck connecting. All I want to do is add older sensor to the gateway connected to app. Factory reset everything 4 or 5 times figuring old settings hanging things up. The online support documentation is practically nonexistent. Was going to buy a few more sensors to expand my monitoring but not now. Thinking about getting something more intuitive and easier to install. To many other "smart" systems out there to put up with this.
On the Panel screen after Alerts are set in small print you can see Min/Max values. However the Max value is not populated. I wish the app supported switching between multiple accounts without having to re-enter your ID/Password each time.
The new mobile alerts only plots data every 30 minutes vice every time step before. Reduced resolution tracking with this degradation. New best fit plotting masks trends I used to be able to better observe.
Works very well, instant access to my basement sensor from anywhere in the world. You can add extra sensors as well, and I learned a lot about humidity levels in my basement from this app, which provides a daily or weekly chart showing you humidity and temperature. The one glaring ommision is something to make the phone scream when an alarm goes off . The only alerts provided are text messages or emails. This means you will have to add a third party SMS alert app if your phone is on Do Not Disturb and want to be woken up when your basement starts to flood at 2am, which I'm betting you do.
It works well. Its nice to be able to check the weather at home from anywhere on earth. I like that it keeps data, so you can swipe left or right to see what the weather was like the other week. Samsung android did a phone update sometime in may 2017, and since then the 'chart' moves all clunky now (it dosn't scroll smothly). Overall, its a kool app.
Works OK , but I have to continually kill the app and re-run to get it to refresh and read the latest data points, including the chart view.
Scrolling left and right in the table section is not smooth, should be updated, the interface is poorly designed, pressure in the chart section is missing
I've been using this app for almost a year. Once the 3 month free notification ran out I stopped using it as much. The last month is hasn't been able to see the device. Today I tried to fix it and now the app nor the site will work. Both time out. This needs to be fixed.
For the money it is hard to beat the hardware, and a couple of tweaks could really improve the software. If the app could automatically update its sensor data instead of needing to be reloaded to initiate a fresh query, it would be worth at least four stars.
Works good as far as the temp goes. Wish you could improve the app. The computer still seems to work better because it updates the chart and graph while on my phone the last temp I have is from 730 when I look at 1200
Works pretty well for my intentions. Since my cabin is 220 miles away and I get there just a couple times a month, I needed something to monitor the temp so I'd know if the furnace went out in the winter. My cabin is in northern MN where it's not unusual to see temps of minus 30 F. Since I'll be going up there in the winter, I don't want to winterize it. I tried a wifi thermostat but the wiring wouldn't work for my dual heat only system. The only thing I don't like about this app is that it doesn't refresh very often on my phone. I understand that it stills records every 15 minutes but I have to manually force close the app and reopen it, which isn't serious. I did just notice that the app on my computer does refresh automatically. All in all, I think the unit was a good investment.

Bought this and installed it in my new home, the furnace went out while we were on vacation and alerted me. I called my neighbor who was able to get it back on before any damage was done. Great product
I installed this in my bakery to monitor the walk in and freezer. It works as I wanted. My injury suggestion is to add a refresh button so Idon't hanger to kill the app and restart to update the temps
We love the concept web based app using wireless sensors to monitor our apartment building over 40 units and other common area and utilities in the past 3 years. Unfortunately the web based server is always down almost once a week for the last 2 months for some reasons. When it was down, it usually started from midnight 12 am until the next day noon, a total of more than 12 hours time frame that we were not able to receive any data from their web server. We are the north in Toronto, Canada where the temperature monitoring is crucial important for our residential rental buildings during the winter months. For a company like Lacrosse who using web based server should at least have a back-up servers to avoid just a frequent down time "One-A-Week"!!!!! We don't mind to pay an extra premium to have the system up and running without any down time if Lacrosse could offer more reliability on their servers.
I use the sensors to monitor temperature and humidity in my chinchilla room. The app updates in 15 minute intervals, and will send me an email if it's out of my previously defined range, which I love. Text alerts don't work, but I'd really prefer app notifications over email and text. Any chance of that in the future?
Ongoing issues with "not seen" even though I'm showing 100% signal strength & good batteries........ Have purchased replacement sensor (unit now out of warranty, ha ha) at La Crosse tech's suggestion........ Still no joy....... Sometimes "not seen" for hours or even days....... Risk losing huge $$$$ should a freeze occur...... Tech support lacking as well.........
App keeps freezing . I have the moto z force and 3 out of 5 times i try to use the app i cant get on it .
Scrolling left and right in the table section is not smooth, should be updated, the interface is poorly designed, pressure in the chart section is missing

This app is ok but needs option to save username and password. Also, chart does not rotate when you rotate your phone.
Half assume worked for a day now won't open as application has reached serving quota. Returning product as well
Doesn't show rain, very laggy
Very disappointed with the app. Where are the maximum and minimums? Etc. And Etc. The online version was so much better. If more updates are not made soon, I certainly will not renew my subscription. I have been using La Crosse weather stations for years, recommending them to others, but this is enough to make me switch to another manufacturer. I think it's great that you moved to an app but for a monitoring service that we are all paying a fee for, we should not have lost so much functionality.
The new app is a joke. The view on a desktop, cell phone or tablet is identical. No attempt is made to adapt to different screen sizes. It doesn't support landscape mode. The fonts are so large you have to scroll up to see half of the fields and the only graphics are an outsize thermometer that is used to display everything, and a weather prediction graphic.. The graph of data is nice, but the X-axis labelling is completely unreadable and is nothing but a mess of pixels. And while it's nice that you can click on a spot and get the values for a given time, you can't tell which of the data points corresponds to that time since ten different points all light up. There is nothing about the app or the web interface that would convince me to pay for any kind of service and I'm unlikely to replace this when the weather station (a C84612) wears out, which given how it looks after a year and a half won't be long..
If you've already connected your system through your home computer, you'll lose all your data if you install this app. You will be instructed that you will have to reconnect the gateway.
Received email to re-register and instructions so vague, and differ from what is on app? Now nothing functions. One area says to delete old registration, but won't delete with instructions given? Finally gave up after trying for an hour. Back to the website I guess.
Not clear that you have to start paying for service after buying the hardware. I am sending it back for a refund rather than paying year after year for alerts that are free elsewhere.
First of all, ignore any reviews before September 2015- the new app is completely different. It is not perfect, but does everything I want it to. It displays my two temps and humidity in an easy to read format. No it does not do landscape and the axis titles are lacking, but I can always figure out what it is saying. It also always keeps me logged in so I am not sure about the problems some reviewers are having.
I would not recommend La Crosse Alerts. The app shows only one 24 hour graph of the temperature. No other graphs are available. The time scale cannot be changed from the last 24 hours. The app on Android and the web have the same problem. You can download the csv file and plot it yourself with Excel with no problem. That is not convenient. I will have to cancel my subscription if they don't improve this.
Now the charts are table seem to be working...... not that they are of any use. No wind or pressure info chart. Table not scrollable and no auto rotate so only first 3 time columns are visible. Needs to bring almanac back. No thought put into expensive device and service. Terrible investment.
Never displays the chart, evennafter uninstalling and re loading. Table on android is an abbreviated one.mthe PC listmismmore complete.
Been using the web based for a year. Was forced to use this new app as my data was no longer sent to the Web as of Sept 1st. The app keeps deleting my alerts! I need these badly! Now when I put in -25 it reads +38 degrees, what is going on. Very dissapointed.
The application is simply not ready. Half the features don't works. The UI is confusing, very confusing. Unfortunately there is no way to use the old Web Based solution. It's a huge step back for the company.
Less info than the previous web app. No wind plot. New and improved?????
Installed apl, let me log in. Logged out and tried to log back in. Keeps telling me wrong user name/password. Cannot reset password, tells me invalid email.
Won't save username/password for easier login. Need this with the gazillion passwords I can't remember
The app does exactly what I expected it to do. It provides a quick at a glance update on the temperature, wind etc at my home. The wind and barometric readings also helps me determine optimal fishing times.
We got device for server room at small nonprofit. Unable to send alerts to multiple ppl. Once device is registered to one person's username, it cannot be added to another. This does not work out well for professional use. After 1000 emails and phone calls finally got a hold of someone who told me I could change the email address in the account... okay great, I can have it text me and email my boss. Well, that didn't work either. Now no response. Terrible product and service.

Works perfectly, the "gateway," thermometer, and app were easy to set up and connect, and it has stayed up to date even with 5 min intervals - just needs interface tweaks. Charts don't rotate. Don't need a splash screen every time I open the app. And user interface seems dated. No app notifications on my phone, just SMS texts? Notifications would allow you to bypass the phone's silent times with emergency notifications. Plus, silly I know, but the thermometer is always bright red even at below zero. Would be five stars if the app was slightly improved.
