Dario Smart Diabetes Management for Android
I just gave it a two but I've changed to a 1. The device concept is great. The functionality is awful. Sometimes it connects right up like it's supposed to. Sometimes it just doesn't. If it were a game app or something that would be fine, but what if it's a dangerous low or high and we pass out? This isn't a game, folks. I see a lot of your responses saying people should call your help line. No. Fix your gadget or we'll stop buying it because this is our lives you're messing with.
Where do I start with everything that's wrong with the app? It calculated 2 doses of insulin and then stopped. It's not that I can't figure it out myself, but more that it gave me the stick and carrot treatment (how rude). I can't put in fractions of a cup (no, I don't put a whole cup of maple syrup in my yogurt, thank you very much). And yes, the time and date are set to "automatic" on my phone. The system guide is less helpful than a rock to fix these problems. And it's wasting test strips by deciding, mid-reading, that it's no longer connected to my phone, despite the fact that I haven't touched it since applying blood. I've used it for 3 days and I already want to curb-stomp the device. I was pretty excited about using this meter. Now I get angry every time I check my blood sugar. 2 stars because it's compact enough to fit in a clutch.
Bought the meter a week ago. Used it once. Now the meter won't connect to the app even after uninstalling and reinstalling. The app won't recognize when I connect the meter. Called customer service who was no help at all. Return policy sucks. Don't waste your time .
Disappointed that right out the box the unit is not always detected when I plug it into my phone. Even when it is detected with a test strip ready, it will randomly send me to the troubleshooting screen and it also happens while in the Shop. Also, it really needs some kind of case. The starter kit doesn't even come with test solution and only 10 lancets for 50 test strips!
This is a nice app, it has more features than I need/use. The app still needs some work. I can't figure out if there is a way to edit an entry. That should be a no brainer. I have also found the the app will not pick up the meter when it is plugged in so I have toun-plug & plug it it in several times. The meter is always hi or low as compared to my Contour Next meter. Sometimes by a lot, enough that it could cause either too much or too little insulin to be taken. I would recommend the app, but not the meter.
The app itself is nice. The meter is a waste of $. And customer service is no help. Stick with your bulky meter.
Initially used Dario on iOS and loved it.. by far my favourite meter unfortunately my headphone jack stopped working.. Upgraded my phone a few days ago and I am now using my Dario again... Thank you for the best blood glucose meter I have ever come across
I bought this months ago only to find it wasn't compatible with my phone. I was told by their customer service they would be coming out with an Android app soon. So I waited and I waited... After some investigating I found that their Android app was basically only compatible with a Galaxy. I do not own a Galaxy. So I called back to return it only to be told it was 2 days after my return period. So I put all the stuff back in the box and put it on the shelf and went and bought a much cheaper glucometer from Walmart. It Bluetoothes to my phone, works great. Well then I happen across the fact that they have finally came out with the Android app. So I download it and start experimenting with new app on a Galaxy J7 that I bought for my work. I get an error message that says it's not compatible with this phone either. So I back out and notice it seems to want to work. So I start playing with get varying readings on the control solution. Just over all a POS. Not even heavy enough to use as a paperweight. And I still haven't figured out where it carries my lancets. Save your self some time money and aggravation and go to Walmart and buy the Contour One. It works better and is significantly less expensive. Three test back to back to back. I got a 349, 286, and then a 313. This thing is an expensive joke.
Just received this Dario in the mail. I've tried everything to get it to work. When I got to the registration screen, my name and email were already there. It asked me to log in with my password which did not work. When I tried to call, the office was already closed. When I tried to email, I got a popup message to enter a valid email address! What? I sent a Forgot Password message and inspire of being told my email was invalid, I got a response. Guess what? The password they had generated did not work either. I finally was allowed to change my password, but when I tried to log in, it popped up with invalid email or password. Also, the meter won't connect to Dario. I'm operating on a LG 6, OS 7 which is listed in your approved phones. When I'm finally able to log in and connect the meter, I'll change my rating, maybe. NOT a happy first time purchaser!
If you use this product, be sure to disable unwanted permissions. The meter works ok and gives results close to my other meters. Minuses: Lancing device is awkward to use. Lance is behind adjusting lever, be sure to confirm the lance is fully seated or you'll get ALOT more blood than you need. Adjustment is difficult as the lever turns hard and only has 4 settings. Strip case has 2 covers, inner one will bend the end of the strip if you're not careful. Software has a spinner to record insulin dose, should have just an entry pad. Overall: Device needs redesign by someone who uses it regularly. Goofy layout to make meter look neat. Form does not follow function. Dariohealth needs to make another run at this. . .
Baught this and then the app won't accept my email address so can't use it. Waste of money!
Just started working with this glucose meter. I have to say, it's very easy to use and seems to be very accurate. I will update this review as time progresses.
Since I have received your new meter. It has been outstanding, it's easy to take my reading and get my percentage on my sugar reading. Order supplies is very easy. Everything about this product is easy and small enough to carrying in your pocket without having to carrying a bag all the time.
There would be more people using this app if it covered more Android systems . It worked on my Nexus 4 Phone however doesn't support my Nexus 5x 7.1.1 now my phone has updated to 8.0 system not supported either.
So far so good. Installed without a hitch, works fine. I can't give the final star without integration to samsung health.
Best BG manament system ever!!!!! Supplies cost less than most copays! Efficient and dependable, everyone whom has diabetis should try this.
Won't open on my new ASUS Laser Zoom3. Crashes every time aI plug in my Dario
The aux won't connect with my phone I have a a Google pixel 2 but when I hooked it up to my moms phone Galaxy s8 and it worked and I just got this monitor today
My Galaxy 8plus did not like at all. First it didn't read. Second it's a very cheap product. The stripes are very expensive . I don't recommend it to anyone.
Pretty good. Would like Samsung health support
Says it won't work on my phone, I'm running os 7 but still will not work so what good is it
Nice app to track blood sugar, carbs, weight and exercise. No integration with smart watches or scales. So far this app is performing great except for some reason I lost my saved favorite foods when I logged out. Currently awaiting for support to reply back with an answer. Liked the app so well that I purchased the Dario blood sugar meter and accessories to get the full benefit and ease of use. The prices are comparable to my insurance copays. The latest update to this app adds additional features such as weight tracking, easier food entries with a bar code scanner, with a fairly good database of foods, and an inbox built into the app. Wish you were able to add half portions in the food tracking menu instead of only full servings. Would make my life easier. Nice job Dario, keep up the good work.
Was hoping this would simplify testing but so far not the case. The app and/or the strip reader does not remain connected long enough to complete the testing process most times. I have been using it for the past week with only 2 successful tests out of 7.
After the meter not working on my S8+ I called support and this is what I found out. In sound setting you must have the EQ set to normal, no surround sound active, all volumes set to max, no WiFi or Bluetooth on while the meter is plugged in. After I made these adjustments it works like charm and am happy so far. I compared it to my One touch meter and it only a couple points different. All in all I like it now.
It worked once and I couldn't get it to connect ever again. I am very disappointed that I spent so much money and was so excited about the technology!
This Dario product and app are the best combination I have found, and I've tried many. It has been absolutely flawless in every way. Highly recommend!
Not impressed...I have connectivity issues, can't enter my current weight in the profile, unable to enter Caregiver name...sent a request to customer service 3+ days ago with no response!...very concerning!
Just order, havent recieved yet.i pray i didnt waste my money.im reading alot of negative comments.......i will update my comments when i test my out.
I'm not diabetic but have a family history. Dario has given me a great tool to keep a check on my levels, and how individual foods impact BG. Wonderful. . Thank you
Worked great for months, now I can't get onto log book, so i cannot send Dr my readings or see them for myself
Did everything to get a reading and it would not read the strip
Worked great, right out of the box S8+
I love it.
Love it
I downloaded it, and after registering, started the tutorial. Well, that's when I realized that this app requires an additional piece of equipment, which is not noted on their site. Nor are you told where to obtain it. I sent an email to the developer and hope to hear back from them soon.
Worked perfectly out of the box with my S8+. Doesn't really I integrate with other health monitoring apps. I'm manually tracking results in SHealth.
Worked well for over a year. Then started having trouble when plugging in the strip holder into the phone. Bought a new approve phone and problem persists. Last time I tested, I had to plug/unplug holder 20 times before it displayed insert new test strip. Called customer service and they said phone had ro have nfc and Bluetooth off, volume off for it to work. This didn't work. It is currently very difficult to get prompt reading. Loved this when it worked but I am now looking for a new meter.
I bought this because it was all in one. It's easy to have everything together. Took it out of the box and works GREAT! It's better than my old meter and is more accurate. I have type 2 diabetes even though I don't use insulin I like that it has if or when I need it. I haven't had any problems with it connecting. I have a Samsung s6. I use to hate taking my sugars but now I take them more regularly.
Well I'm leaving a one star simply because I can't even get the app to run at all. My galaxy S7 is supposedly supported but as I say the app hadn't successfully ruin once other than to get me to create any account and enter the email code.

This app used to be great but since they have removed the ability to edit the logbook I feel like my control over my own diabetes is being restricted. I don't appreciate the intrusion at all. It's rude and was not advised prior to updating this app has changed too much. I feel ripped off and want my money back on my meter as I don't feel like I want to use this meter anymore. Waste of time contacting support as suggested by dev, they are no help at all and just state "it is not possible to reinstate the delete function". So just wasted even more of my time!
