LabArchives for Android
Constantly crashing, impossible to add entries. After I lost everything I had edited during a class when it suddenly crashed I stopped using it. It is ok just for checking journals
I like to do my calculations by hand, as typing in equations is clumsy on a computer. But when I insert pictures on from the app they automatically go to the bottom of my lab and there is no quick way to move it to the section I want.
First of all. I dislike the layout. Its pale and blunt with nothing to make me happy about standing in a lab. Secondly I have a hard time editing my pages and lastly, the way you view your journal is just chaotic. The text on my screen is huge and I can not minimalise the view by zooming outward. When there is an image you want to see clearer, you'd try to zoom in, but then you lose track of where you actually zoomed in for because you've been launched off into another dimension somewhere within the page.
Functionally is limited because editing and adding photos lead to the crash of the app. Adding pictures is the main benefit of this app to me if it worked. I'm hopeful that they will fix these issues in future updates.
Man I love crashes. Everytime I try to take a picture crash
Only download then it's stuck in installation
I had trouble logging into this app initially because I have an Australian account. Apparently there's a difference and you have to customise the Australian server in order to gain access. Troubleshooting this issue was easy with the friendly support staff. After logging in however, I wish I didn't waste my time. I'm on Sony Xperia Z3, the app crashes constantly and cannot load images. Useless, will go back to the web browser.
This app can only be described as a comprehensively incompetent app. It is unable to process even the most basic of functions such as displaying images, tables, and other figures. Moreover, consistent crashes undermine any usage of the app for its other features, however limited they are.

The mobile platform at this point only serves as a screen to view contents. I can give an honest five stars when mobile functionality is complete.
Although I have the misfortune of needing to use this app for a class, one would at least expect that the images can be displayed, instead of rendering as blank white boxes. This issue has been present for a while now with no sign of anybody caring.
I can't do anything. It keeps crashing
It crashes when I try to upload a picture
Moving forward in the field of academics and research!
The updates are good. Functionality being added with each iteration. Good app for digital notebooking.
The website version works great - no problems. However the android version crashes constantly for me. Makes it very difficult to use as I would prefer (with a tablet sitting next to me on the bench)
Quick easy install. Great companion to our Web product
I have been satisfied with th way this app interfaces with my labarchive account. However, some items take a very long time to load. There are also bugs in the UI during editing. The cursor will disappear and it will stop recording what I write. If I save the entry and go back to edit it, the changes will be visible.
We're testing out the Lab Archives for our lab (on the web based version) but I will have to say, this is a pretty fully functional mobile app. Rich text editor is pretty easy to use and works pretty well as far as rich text, bullet points, etc. Suggestions that I'd make would be A) make font resizable with pinch to zoom when in experiments, [optimize for larger pixel density screens in general, text seems huge, your icon seems low resolution for a 1080 screen], B) use HOLO overflow menus that slide in from left and/or right to quickly navigate back to top level or higher levels in tree, currently you feel pretty stuck in the experiment in which you are working without backing out page by page, C) make an option to share data out of the app using the share menu [would require more backend work, but would be real useful to send a method, file, data piece to someone while on the go, if the text would render into pdf, then send], Also, share functions to internal users or lab archives too - this seems more secure and functional while mobile. D) have an attach button that allows attachment of files like pdfs, jpegs, etc. to experiment files while mobile.
Excellent Android version for excellent cloud-based electronic scientific lab notebook
(Full disclosure: I am part of the LabArchives Team): This first Android App provides users with the ability to quickly and easily browse through their Notebooks without the need to use their device browser. Version 1.2.2 takes advantage of the interface on small and large tablets as well as phones and is ideal for browsing through your lab notes. We are looking forward to the next release which will also enable editing of LabArchives Entries!
Quick easy install. Great companion to our Web product
As a busy PI, it's now easy to keep tabs on our experiments during frequent travels.
Works great. Can check in on work from my phone or tablet. Recommend to all LabArchives users with Android devices.
I love to use this in meetings to quickly reference my data and conclusions! Now if only I could convince the rest of the group to use it.
We use the LabArchives platform in our lab to store, organize and share all of our data. This new App is really handy for viewing our notebooks from my phone or tablet when I'm outside the lab. And, while we could always use LsbArchives from the Android browser, it much faster and easier using the App
