DreamScreen BLE

This app is terrible when it comes to Bluetooth. They are unwilling or are unable to fix the connection issues. I can put my phone next to it and only them sometimes it does work but most of the time it does not. I have tried two different locations of TV even connecting it on short hdmi away from the TV it's useless. It must have very bad Bluetooth module because if I put in the same locations my Raspberry Pi 3 it's not interfered but anything. I was thinking of getting an upgrade to 4K but since the support is so bad for this version then I'm not going to spend any money nor support them on Kickstarter anymore. Don't bother with it.

Works, but requires restart of app and restart of dream screen sometimes to connect with Bluetooth. I am disappointed that there have been no new features added to it. Its all the same presets, it would be nice to get something new once in a while to keep it fresh, new ambient light settings, new music settings etc.

Excellent product, excellent app (now that connection issues have been fixed). Love my DreamScreen!

Great app. Sometimes the connection may act up, but not too worried about that. Would love it if there were widgets to control my dreamscreen directly from the homescreen. But everything else works great.

Nothing works! Not the old product and not the new 4k ! It just won't connect!

Crashes right after launching. Utterly useless. Having issues with hardware as well. As of now i would recommend you stay away from this app and product. Also purchasing experience was sub par.

Doesn't connect all the time, but when it works it's great

Can't pair with my phone, worked before the last update but now says it rejected my pin and retry.. Never set a pin..? The main buttons on the device itself work.. But wish I could use the app since this thing wasn't cheap!

The app can see my Dreamscreen but try to change anything and nothing happens. Side note they said they would send a replacement led strip due to a dead led but never did.

Just received mine today and was excited! However, I'm at a loss like others for the Bluetooth malfunctioning. My galaxy s 6 edge refuses the connection and my ipad won't even display the Bluetooth or wifi. So I have to operate it by hand. Is there a fix for this?

App won't connect to Bluetooth.. Very spotty connection even when I finally get it to work...Also LED strips don't stick well.to my TV.. Disappointed.. this was expensive.. should work better than this

You are paying for the technology which is crap. Bluetooth is horrible and the music should work off sound but it doesn't. DO NOT BUY. Get a set of lights for 20 bucks and you'll be better off.

The Bluetooth connection however needs improvement. I loose connection and can't reconnect. Have you put the LEDs off by hand. But after a few updates Bluetooth seems to be fixed. Works great.. Now the wait for integration with lifx or hue.

Bluetooth connection issue still persists. Frankly to me connected and paired like 2-3 times then never actually did. Even though the Bluetooth icon turns blue but I can't actually control anything via phone. It never works. I have been using manually ever since. It's little frustrating

Really want to like this, but for the price I paid I expected something that works. The Bluetooth connected when I first set up the dreamscreen, and I was able to control everything just fine, but it hasn't worked since. Most of the time the Bluetooth won't connect, and when it does connect it doesn't respond to any of the apps commands. I've tried reinstalling the app, I tried unplugging and plugging in the lights, but nothing seems to work. Also, the power cable connection is not very good. I'm really disappointed in what could have been a great product. Edit: Yes, when I put the phone right next to it, it will find it, but then most of the time it won't respond to any commands. Sometimes it will work if I restart my phone, other times it won't and the app will just keep crashing. I've barely used this since it arrived because it's just so much hassle getting it working. Which is a shame because when it does work it's quite good.

Bluetooth connection is spotty at best. Lights worked before it connected. Now lights are at a constant blue/white color and only change to what is on the screen minimal at best. No matter what button I press on the app it changes nothing.

App no longer allows me to connect to my strip and I have a constant flickering on the 3 of the leds that won't stop. Pretty disappointing since I paid so much for something to partly work. Edit: no I've also tried with a galaxy note 4

Bluetooth often losses sync. When this happens unplugging the power is the only way to fix.

When the app works it is great. However on both my Android phones it will RARELY connect to the DreamScreen unit successfully, even while standing directly above it. Because there is no remote for the unit you have to either get up and reach blindly behind your TV to change settings, or be lucky enough that the app inexplicably decides to connect enabling you to actually use the equipment. A friend with an iOS device does not have this problem at all (while connecting to my device), which leads me to believe DreamScreen needs to work on their Android app and its bluetooth functionality.

As others have said, the bluetooth connection still needs improvement. But my galaxy s6 connects (after a short wait mostly) and allows full control. The hardware works great. Logitech elite remote support would make this perfect for me

I can't get this to connect to Bluetooth. Tried two devices. Need to resort painfully to switch behind TV. Edit: I've tried everything including manually pairing the device via bluetooth settings.

Force closes, doesnt connect 50% the time. More updates needed badly. Consider adding reporting function when it crashes. I would send crash reports atleast.. Also metal objects and electronic periphelia don't cause that much interference with bluetooth at these distances. The app struggles with bluetooth connection at 2 meter distance. Just for fun I left my bluetooth headphones hanging from the same place dreamscreen is at. That is behind the tv. I could go to the next room 6+meters away without any issues. So metal objects & other explanations are just bs. Or the receiver on dreamscreen is EXTREMELY weak. Weaker than my inear headphones which receiver is even smaller than in the dreamscreen. On the positive side, the leds are damn cool and all the modes work. You just have to stand 50cm from the dreamscreen to change anything. Which is infuriating. I want to be able to change settings from the couch, and that is NOT asking much. Edit; wifi is off, so that isnt the issue with my phone. Also the crashes are random, doesnt crash during startup.

Turns on then stops pairing once on Have to turn off or crash app to the get repaired with it. Have to do same again to turn off. Blue tooth doesn't work well.

Dreamscreen not found on multiple devices. Stuck on last settings and can't change it,making the Dreamscreen completely useless

Please help Ambient mode is Fantastic video is great once i put music mode all lights dies nothing happens

App keeps freezing all the time have to cycle the dreamscreen power off and back on all the time

It was my phone that was not able to work got a New phone now it worked great

Didn't connect to Bluetooth but if you uninstall it and reinstall it it works

Unfortunately my dreamscreen broke down within 6 months or so. No more guarantee. They offered a discount.

The new update with BT fixes made the BT connection so much better for me.

Needs a troubleshooting section and user defined presets.

Have to 'force close' DreamScreen & Bluetooth (and clear DreamScreen cache) before every connection attempt otherwise it doesn't work - connection gets made but then is immediately lost. Force closing + clearing DreamScreen cache works every time for me. Bluetooth range is severely limited when DreamScreen is placed behind TV, so have to stand next to it to get connected. Once connected, this is a useful app. Connectivity requires attention. Overall a good product.

I tried setting up the minimum luminosity yesterday and it worked great. Until I noticed that the luminosity stayed on even if you turned off the receiver feeding it with a signal. Aka when everything is turned off. So either I have to reach back behind the tv to turn of the dreamscreen or turn down the luminosity every single time I stop watching TV. Really disappointing. Of course it should turn off the lights when the signal is cut.
