Internet Radio - L337Tech for android is quite possibly the most complete and robust free internet radio application in Google Play! Internet Radio is a robust music application used to tap into thousands of online radio stations. Search and listen to thousands of online radio stations easily. Stream internet radio over 2G, 3G, or even Wifi. Internet Radio utilizes both SHOUTcast™ and icecast.org services. Internet Radio also accepts custom input internet radio stations.
Per standard android security, you must use the app...reboot...then use the app again for the auto play and media button features to work!

Permissions explanation:
-network communication is for listening to internet radio and making station information pulls and for determining if there is internet connectivity
-Hardware controls is for adjusting the system volume
-System Tools is for receiving bluetooth intents like media buttons and connection changes, and to keep the phone from sleeping while playing a song (stopping playing), and to start the intent receiver on phone boot
All other permissions are used by the new ad provider AirPush's SDK in order to serve the best ads possible to you:
-location
-wifi state
-phone id
-accounts
-bookmarks
Service Explanation:
There is a service that is always running. This service uses zero CPU and battery. It simply sits there and waits for heaphone/bluetooth connection, bluetooth media button, and webpage playlist file open intents sent by android. Only after android sends an intent to the service does the service wake up and perform an action.
The other service is a player service that only runs while playing a song. It is simply built to continue playing the song without interruption until the user says stop.

You need some time to get used to it. See preferances. When you get the way it works, it just works! No stupid bells and whistles. No mandatory accounts. No excessive permissions to you device and hence to your privacy. Very good. Small system footprint.

I love the app, but one huge annoyance I have with it is whenever I connect an audio device in Bluetooth, the app starts playing automatically, and at FULL volume. It happens every time. Please fix.

Fantastic job! Almost Perfect! I am giving it 5 stars anyways as 4.5 is not an option. I Love the Bluetooth support!!! In order to make it absolutely perfect, please add Chromecast Audio Support. This app + Chromecast Audio = Magic because that way the cell phone battery won't get drained. After that add DNLA and then Apple Airplay support to the app as well. Then raise the price of the paid version to $3.00 because those features will make this a 5.0 rating app for on online music streamer... Thank you!

My device doesn't have a "menu" key so, I can't open settings. Also, AAC and AAC+ streams have no audio, yet on other streaming services they do. Have Kit Kat device, so I don't know what problem is.

App does not work anymore after update. The ads stop the app from streaming. I have to restart the station I'm listening to.

you fixed the issue where it stops playing and it has to reconnect but now there is new problem. 2 instances of the player open up and 2 separate streams play. one in the foreground and one in the background. can stop the foreground one but then can't control the channels or anything on background one. can't stop background one. can only reboot to stop background one.

This is my favorite Shoutcast/Icecast online radio streaming app. Just add Google Chrome Cast audio support. Also long holding a station in favorites deletes it permanently from favorites list. Prior to deleting please ask for yes/no confirmation. I got the paid version. Well worth the 99C cost.

It works great, plays most stations with no problems. If you are using an old android device that can't install iheart radio, this is a good app to use. The reason why I'm giving this 4 stars is because you can't listen to live fm radio stations like iheart radio. This app can only play digital radio stations.

Update: buffer size setting and the whole buffer system is broken. Buffer % has nothing to do with reality. :( vlc works fine with same streams...just rebuffers a bit and continues, as it should. And, double audio streams will sometimes play after i connect headphones then change the station.

Tons of stations and genres! And it doesn't drop stations or do constant buffering like I get now with Tunin. I would give it 5 stars but there's a few stations that it doesn't have that are my favorites... like the ambient station T-wave Rakiraki Beach from japan and a few techno stations. But overall its excellent! You really won't be disappointed if you download it. And the plus is it doesn't have airpush adds, just lil banner adds. Thanx :-)

Better than winamp for finding and playing streams in one simple interface. I use this app almost daily, and it's more reliable and stable than fancy apps with content markets like Soundcloud, Pandora, and Stitcher.

A no-nonsense, full featured internet radio (Shoutcast / Icecast) player - plain and simple. Connects to stations quickly and the ads are unobtrusive. Also like that I can enter a stations URL that's not offered in the playlist as a "Custom Station". Compatible with the WAZE app; radio station pauses, then resumes when WAZE is finished speaking. This is a great app for me; works perfectly on my MOTO X.
