iTwinkle WiFi for Android
I can't get the app to connect to change the lights it says connect fail. Tried every possible fix resets, super resets, checked wifi uninstalled app and reinstalled. Now a ll i have is two strands of lights with 2 different colors. I could have saved a bunch of money and bought cheapies that work *sigh*
Poor app connectivity. Worked once, enough time for me to pick orange color for Halloween. Could not connect to the lights since then. It's Christmastime now. The lights WiFi is there in the list, but connection times out every single time. Guess I'm stuck with color orange for xmas too.
Useless app. Doesn't connect to lights. Am using a nexus 5 fully patched. I've reported the hang, but who knows if they will take any action.
Work as before, they removed non-direct connections. I have 6 coded sets. You need to have each string coded before they work together. I had to recode set 2 since one string died this year. If it had a timer I could forgive all it other failures and rate of higher. I have gotten it to work unlike others this 2 stars not 1.
This app is not made by GE. iTwinkle was designed to be controlled by an Apple product. I don't have any Apple products. I've only found 2 android apps for the iTwinkle tree and lights...both made by Woo Entertainment. This app sucks. The other app is far from perfect but it's better than buying an iPod.
This app is horrible for Droid phones but it works awesome on any iOS device!! Bought a set at a thrift store for $10, obviously saved quite a bit!
Worked right out of the box didn't even need the directions gotta be pretty old school not to understand this so simple just takes patience beautiful don't need wifi just a wifi device only to set ur lights after you just exit app done .
Second season trying to make this app and these lights work. Can't connect multiple lights effectively. App is terrible to navigate around. I paid for frustration and nothing more. Should have stuck with traditional lights
If you can get these lights connected and working let me know. Hideous.
You have to reconfigure the entire setup each time you access the lights, wish I would have tested these before hanging them up. Will be returning to costco in the spring.
no good dont work and app is not available any more company took off app and said they are no longer working and said sorry .want my money back
Can't make it work with my new phone. Old cell broke .Now I got this expensive lights that are not compatible with anything. Stuck on different patterns
Couldn't get the app to work to control the lights. The app tells me I am connected and the user interface makes terrible sense, might as well be written in chinese. Also you can't connect light strands from end to end like every other string of lights I have ever seen.
After two days finally got 1 of the 4 strings to work. Wasn't worth my time. Still unable to reset any strings. Says I'm connected but it doesn't work and I can't even "Super Reset". Returning to store.
It's tough to manage the lights and too basic of show options/settings. And yes, it does crash the phone if you try to reconnect... Returning, shame.
eventhough the hardware is great the app breaks the product. Even build in patterns can't be used with custom colors, no custom patterns, limited speed adjustments, no custom color preview, no timer, no party sound controlled function (ultimate cool feature). So much wasted potential, PLEASE, PLEASE fix this app and make these lights as cool as they should be.
All these negative reviews must be user errors. Turned on the lights, opened the app, went through the connection process and synchronized 2 sets of lights. After they were synchronized I uploaded a custom program and the lights are doing exactly what I wanted. No problems at all.
I tried several times and could never make multiple lights tie together. I called support and they suggested something that wasn't in the directions and I still couldn't make them work. Nice in theory but it just doesn't work. At the end of the day I gave up on Android and used my daughter's iPhone. I did a super reset on each of the three sets and then configured for multiple sets and it worked. My suggestion would be save your time and just use an iPhone. Don't buy if you use android.
The local wi-fi was completely removed during an update since it never worked. Program could add a timer, it would at great value and is easy to do, but I doubt thay know how to do so. To sequence lights just power on ONLY one additional string at a time. I have 6 working together. SInce you have to walk up to the 01 light with the tablet it offers no advantage over the older bluetooth ones but at least the stay in sync unlike the remote controlled ones. Changing the pin fixes if only some respond.
HOW ON EARTH with so many skilled programmers, that GE hires this horrible company TWO YEARS IN A ROW to make a fraudulent app that doesnt work and doesnt have any reliability is beyond me. A huge multinational company (GE) apparently doesnt give one hoot about customers if they hire incompetent hacks like "kywooinno" to provide control of there devices. I am going to make a BBB complaint about this as I feel cheated out of several hundred dollars in false promises.
Tried to connect several strings with the app. Spent over an hour to connect to two strings without success. These will be going back to Costco. Not worth the aggravation.
First, it's a pain to connect. It would not work from my phone but would from my tablet which has an older OS. Second, I can't get the lights to do what I want. I want to have multiple, solid colour lights. So kind of like a regular string but I want the ability to change what the colours are. Might be sports team colours, might be Christmas colours, might be different shades of red for Valentine's day or greens for St Patrick's day etc. I didn't want to have them running through any kind of flashing or pattern, just different colours on solid. Can't do it. Called them up, no there's no way to do it. You can have one colour on solid, you can have custom colours in various patterns, but you can't have 2 or more custom colours just on solid. Trying to decide whether or not to return the lights.
Worked right out of the box didn't even need the directions gotta be pretty old school not to understand this so simple just takes patience beautiful don't need wifi just a wifi device only to set ur lights after you just exit app done .
These work perfectly! Love being able to set my 5 strands all simultaneously. So easy to connect and change to one of the pre-designed patterns. Tip: disconnect your phone from all other WiFi so it can only connect to the lights. Yes it takes a few minutes to familiarize yourself to the app, but it works exactly as advertised if you do it correctly.
Not good
You have to reconfigure the entire setup each time you access the lights, wish I would have tested these before hanging them up. Will be returning to costco in the spring.
They don't work anything more than 2 sets and the lights fail all over spent 5 hours fighting with them resetting returning them for some working wifi lights
What a mess lights were beautiful but the stupid app would not work with any device we have, I bet they will be getting a lot of them back, Stupid idea GE
Had to return lights because of quality issues. I already had them on my house and one string went out. Took back to Costco and was told to bring them all back. Was there testing done on these lights?? Frustrating!
I have spent 3 hours trying to get these light to work on the WiFi program, what a joke, lost my receipt. I am stuck with lights that don't work.
This is horrible my WiFi turns off when I try to connect these lights It works when you first turn it on but it disconnected
So the app crashes and I have to reset all the strands and then we have to recode them in order to use the app.
Useless piece of software. Nothing but problems. GE should be ashamed of themselves for allowing this app to be used on their product.
stay away from this app these lights more pain then they are worth
Trying all combinations and cannot even get first string doing anything but default. Nothing is written out no instructions. Sucks
Wi-Fi doesn't work. Costco sent letter confirming issue... Lights are already installed on roof.
Love them, I have people stopping in front of the house all the time looking at the lights. I love changing colors and patterns. Very easy to program, simple instructions.
Light themselves look to be high quality, but the app could use some upgrading and perhaps being able to customize the pattern when you customize the colors.
While the app works for me (3 sets synced), the functionality is limited. There is only 1 simple pattern for custom colors. Why have 2000 possible colors if most the best patterns only work with the few fixed basic colors? Navigation in the app is not intuitive and often makes you reconnect to the lights local wifi network. There is no way to preview custom colors. If you don't like it then you need to delete and add another color. The lights seem to have more capability than this app permits.

If I could write negative stars I absolutely would. What a great concept. What a terrible execution. Somehow they manage to make the app even worse than the Bluetooth version and that's saying something. Spent an hour and even the lady at Tech Support doesn't know why its not working. Okay, just tried the updated version. Still can't connect at all.
