About An Editor for Processing

This is a simple Processing Editor for Android.

Just simply write some Processing code (as in "standard" Java-based Processing), and execute your sketch!

This app features:
- execute and store Processing sketches
- load sketches from SD card (under refactor, available soon)
- save sketches to SD card (under refactor, available soon)

Note that sketches are executed with Processing.js.

This app is free, and licensed under the MIT license.

Whenever I try to write code, the entire program would change.

I don't know how to use it?

the only thing i would add would be a play stop button so that phones dont freeze up wile running code with loops, other then that i think its exelent

I find this really handy for tinkering with ideas on the go. Nice work. :-) I agree with the comments suggesting a 'Stop' button too.

K70%

please give us the option to downgrade to version 1.. version 2 editor is more fancy but also very buggy.

K70%
by K####:

Bad and buggy

Didn't try with loop stuffs because I don't want my phone to freeze up. But the scrolling is not truly satisfying. The sketch is good, needs full screen preview though.

K70%
by K####:

Great for little tests.

K70%
by K####:

Can't copy paste and dont even have the libraries and their reference, this app has potential but lacks efforts from its team whos main idea is open source in public domain

W70%
by W####:

It really beats me why people reinvent basic editor functions. I mean if there is no paste we can go back to pen and paper and forget technology.

G70%
by G####:

This app accomplishes the basic tasks i need it to. However, there does seem to be an issue with the input where it oftentimes adds the last letter i typed automatically in caps to my last input so that i always have to go back and fix it manually. There is also an issue of automatic capitalization when starting a new line. May be an error on my end, but if not, this should get fixed soon as it is very annoying and time consuming.

this is great to test ideas and with a little improvements I can see myself truly writing code with this on a tablet ... As mentioned before, a STOP button is a must, and an option to run a sketch as a standalone activity. Also a few bug fixes are necessary (mainly the app getting a bit crazy while running sketches) I would change the name of the app to something shorter (maybe something more catchi and less explanatory). This app should have a paid version with more features

K70%

Functional. Runs sketch but doesn't have a method to pause or stop execution. Also the editor itself isn't good for coding (has auto-capitalization, no syntax highlighting, etc...).

Perfect for when my mind sparks, and I need to jot down some code. :)

I would buy this if it supported multiple windows like for the galaxy s4. Then you could remove the text area, make the sketch running window larger and allow users to use DroidEdit as their second window which supports multiple windows and does a great job with code work. As it is I will keep the app on my phone but it is too limited to be practical.

N70%

I would like to be able to open up my full program on the editor. Currently i use tabs to seperate my classes in order to keep everything neat and tidy. I would like to be upload my current code with the tabs and all so it would run properly.

F70%
by F####:

Good to have an Android IDE at last but a few problems, the worst for me is that it can't open multiple file sketches.

F70%

Good to have a processing ide for android now. I use it mostly for quick ideas on the go.

N70%

it works well ! could you implement a sort of zoom or a selector for font size ?

N70%
by N####:

Could have been better if the typing screen was bigger so that we can see the previous written code all at once and output screen should be a little bigger and this app should be better optimized for tablets.

Wonderful, It resemble the PC program very much, but please add stop button and support WebGL

I found it very useful, does not need a computer to test new ideas.

My sketches work beautifully on the nexus 7 It would be really neat if this app could use the android processing editor t make android apps on my nexus. Thank you so much for your hard work. I was waiting for something like this.

N70%
by N####:

I've pasted a few sketches in and this seems to work. It could be great. However, at least on the nexus7the code area is to small. You can only see trio lines of text at a time.

H70%
by H####:

This is a great app. I'm currently taking a processing class and now I can do all the work on my tablet! I have a suggestion for the developer though: it would be nice to see some code colorization for methods/keywords and such (like Processing on the PC). Add that and some of the auto-formatting features like in the PC and you'll have an app I'll gladly pay $4.99 for.

In addition to the other feedback, I'd recommend disabling autocorrect and auto-caps for onscreen keyboards.

N70%
by N####:

This is not the best app. Work on it and I'll think about it.
