Mizan (NGO)

The formation of a loose coalition or organization among the Muslim women non-governmental organization (NGO) called Muslim Women Interest Zone and Networking (MIZAN). MIZAN shall have the mission statement as suggested below;

To portray an image of an intellectual, progressive Muslim woman, contemporary and pleasant.

To become the fundamental Islamic-based women leaders integrates contemporary and professional principles.

To raise awareness towards Syariah Law which endeavor to enhance prosperity while safeguarding human and mankind.

To inspire public opinion and decision-making process and policy that will impact on women.

To provide the authoritative voice for Muslim women in providing balanced-view regarding Muslim women and its status in Islam.

To produce trained and skilled facilitators that will lead halaqah circles of MIZAN.

To assist Muslim women in their transition process of understanding Islam by providing halaqah circles / Muslimah support group.

It is further proposed that MIZAN shall have the following characteristics in order to become modeled Muslim women coalition.

Pro-syariah
Pro-family (adopting DOHA Declaration 2004)
Multisectorial partnership – social sectors, poltical sectors, economic sectors, professional members, academician, individual and any concerned activist.
Founded upon the theme ‘Islam for All’.
Underlies the principle of truth, justice and impartial.
Prominent and contributes significantly.
Media-friendly, male-friendly and able to influence policy makers.
Recognized nationally and internationally.
